Taking advantage of the forum hospitality, just wanted to share a blind timer we've built for home games lately: https://poker-timer.eu (https://poker-timer.eu/) . We usually just cast it straight to the TV from a browser and navigating through the mobile. it does not require any registration or download. Thought it might be useful for anyone else hosting.

Hi there, I got few questions. Without any registration how does the phone pair with the screen that is casting? If the browser tab closes mid tournament does the clock state survive or do you start over? Thanks

Hi, I'm actually in the final stages of developing a poker tournament timer myself, so it's interesting to see how others have approached this. One of the decisions I made early on was to run the tournament clock entirely on the server rather than in the browser. Participants can open the tournament display from pretty much any device with a browser, including phones, tablets, or smart TVs. Each device simply displays the current tournament state. The advantage is that the clock continues running even if someone closes their browser, turns off the TV, or temporarily loses their internet connection. When they reconnect, the display picks up the current tournament state rather than trying to resume a locally running timer. I've also separated the administrator controls from the public display, so the person running the tournament can manage it from their phone while everyone else sees a clean tournament screen. I've been testing it at actual poker nights, and so far it's been pretty stable. Out of curiosity, does your timer run locally in the browser, or do you synchronize the clock through a backend?
