I play a lot of homepoker with the same group of friends, it's just for fun, micro stakes. Our homegames always goes like this: First we play 1 or 2 fast structured tourneys (that usually become crapshoots), after that we play some dealers choice cash games, and to finish some gambelz. Now, the part that I like most, and what most others like most is the dealers choice cashgame. That consists of any game that the dealer can come up with (existing or self-invented😀). So a lot of self invented stuff is going on, and surely some games are pure rubbish and will never be played again after being dealt 1 time, but from time to time something is dealt that sticks and is really enjoyable. Sometimes a game wasn't fun at first, but got finetuned and many players start liking it after it got tweaked. The tweaking is usually a brainstorm with the players that are there and give ideas about what can make a specific game better. Since I like to play any kind of totally crazy self invented games, I am interested to know if other groups have their own games they like to play at their home games? And maybe if they wanted to share that here? A few games that we have played and are popular: *royal hunt: tripple draw (or double draw) game where you are dealt 5 cards, and try to draw to a 5card straight flush. It's highly unlikely to get to a 5card SF though, and so a 4 card SF is still a pretty good hand (and wins from any 3, 2 or even 1 card straight flushes) If 2 players have a 3card SF the highest SF card decides the winner. *the blind game (this is a pure Gambol game): every player gets dealt some cards (number of cards can vary, we usually have 6 to 8 cards) but cannot look at them. The goal is to make a high hand with any 5 card combo, and Aces are 'jokers' (can be anything). First player pays 1bet and turns first card. (e.g. Td) Second player pays 1bet and turns as many cards as needed to have a better poker hand than the first player. So (e.g. 8c3d3c) Third player also pays 1 bet and needs to turn until he beats that hand, and so on. The catch is that when a player turns an ace, he is obligated to 'buy' that card (as a wild card? -joker-) and the price is the amount of money that is already in the pot. So, it is possible that after buying 4 jokers the potsize has exploded and one of the players is freerolling to win it.. Players can fold if it's their action if they think making the best hand is getting very difficult and the fear of having to pay full pot if they turn an ace is always there. To make the fun (and pots) even bigger, you can add other cards that count as jokers. Sometimes these cards are also must-buy at full price, sometimes they are priced at 50% of the pot, sometimes you have the option to buy instead of the obligation, etc... I could post many many more variants we play, but would like to hear some crazy stuff from other people.
