They shut people out of the fields because of their bat **** idea of escorting re-entries to the cage and allowing them to come back in immediately instead of going back behind people waiting. 40+ people on Thursday couldn't get in for even one bullet (people that showed up even at 11-12 for an 11) because of this. Everyone should get at least a bullet and rake would have been ... See full post

Yeah, there's historically been a high level of arrogance and favoritism in that room, a significant reason why FW became the better tournament destination for both series and daily events. While nobody can fault them for being so attractive that many more players than expected showed up to play, the idea that they failed to take care of a significant number of players is troubling. As far as either casino running series events, don't hold your breath. Management seems disinterested for a variety of reasons. It's a shame, but it is what it is.

The floor/staff (NOT dealers) here are exceptionally rude. They show no care for keeping players coming there, particularly the type of players who we would like to play with.

Casinos hate poker. It brings so little to their bottom line. They would prefer the entire room be emptied and filled with slots. I was there on Thursday night with a group (not to play poker) and it was insane what I saw in the pit. Half the table games were not operating, and the few blackjack tables going were at a $50 min bet at 5:30pm. It was funny seeing the empty tables at those stakes, when my group of 9 were just itching to gamble on the floor, but couldn't justify that price. They could have had our money, but they didn't seem to want it. We even asked one of the lonely dealers if they could lower the price for us to sit down, and he said no. The entire thing is being driven to slots. I guess I'm just a poor peasant on a rant and not saying anything that anyone on here doesn't know already. P.S. I hate slots with a passion.

Yeah that was cool, was there for the final table and the results also on their Bravo. Wondering more about the single day tourney they ran on new years day to try to gauge what the MLK day tourney might look like.

I brought it up to Rebecca and Brendan but of course they insist this is "how it is everywhere" and "do you want to do my job for me too?" which of course it's not at all. It's a shame they are so stubborn there and not willing to listen to one of the only regs at MS that actually plays mid-high tourneys across the country and just want them to improve so they can smoothly run ... I can't believe the people that run casinos are so dumb that they hate poker. Poker brings in much more money than casinos like to admit. They rake around $150/hr at the tables and pay the dealers less than minimum wage. The poker room also brings in the players wifes to play the slots and everyone patronizes the restaurants. Not to mention the fact that probably about 20% of the poker players are betting on sports while they are there. And the poker players who would normally never go to a casino but do because of poker will inevitably leak out into the pits to chase poker loses or play slots while waiting for a seat or whatever. Poker players give casinos an additional consistent revenue stream that most businesses would love to have.

Mohegan has been like that since Covid. Last I knew it was still only 4 per table. It’s not the pay they worry about, they don’t want to insure anyone. They have very few full time dealers and only schedule part timers on weekends. They must figure it’s cheaper to keep tables closed than it is to have more full timers on staff. And if people are gonna go there during the week, they are gonna play whether the tables are $15 or 50 min. Edit - my bad I quoted the wrong post.

No one is saying poker rooms dont make money or dont bring in other hidden money in the ways you mention. Thats not the point or why the rooms are more expendable. Its how much LESS they bring in than slots and table games. I once heard a pokerroom manager on a podcast say that theres not a pokerroom in the country that makes more in a day than 3 table games.

JeffageMicro-Stakes Grinder11 posts

I get that theory but in most casinos many slots and table games are not at capacity often. That means that replacing a room with slots is not going to add additional revenue unless the poker room is already losing money. So poker brings in additional revenue and has other ancillary benefits people mentioned.

Noticed PLO still consistently running daily. Is there a group of players it runs around? I played this past Wednesday and there were 2 games, must move was far better than the main game. A scenario came up where a player 1st to act on flop multi way announced " Check raise" Is that binding or considered a check only? One player called the floor questioning if that was an angle shoot. Thoughts?

I can see some soft play and passive play… this sort of thing happens in any game in eastern act when you have old passive regs who’ve played w each other for years. I even started a thread on soft play. But I’m not sure there’s outright collusion whipsaw or team poker. Again I’ll ask what you have seen and who did it? Its rigged bro trust me

Sorry youre not winning at PLO. Agree with Ethics that this simply isn’t a real problem. Soft play amongst friendly regs in a HU pot does not equal shadiness/collusion. If stuff like that bothers you then PLO simply isn’t for you and you can go be miserable at NL where you belong.

I see two of your posts here just on this page about NL being boring, and like watching paint dry. I've never played live or PLO. Only online NL but I'm located near Monticello and can obviously get to Mohegan Sun easily, too. With how popular PLO has become lately, with things like double board bomb pots, etc, I'm going to spend some time learning and playing it alongside NL. What is so much better about PLO than NL in your opinion? I've heard that the variance/swings are considerably greater in PLO. Is that one of the things that you like about it? Is it, in general, a more profitable game than NL? Thanks

It’s a more fun and gambling game where not everyone takes themselves so seriously. It’s always the best game in the room as far as action and atmosphere. You want to sit around in silence and watch regs seat changing the fish and table hopping all night with their backpacks and headphones? Then stay at NL. Otherwise we welcome you to the great game brother.

Most people who are playing poker aren't playing to make a profit. These people divide themselves in two categories. One, there are the people that think they are winning players, but aren't. They'll tell you and themselves that they just have bad luck. Then there are those that understand they aren't going to be crushers and just want to gamble. They'll lean towards PLO. The variance in PLO is an order of magnitude greater than NLHE. That helps with the gambling, but you need a lot of financial resources (bankroll, income) to stay in for months and years. In a lot of places, these games consume themselves as people go on a downswing and run out of money. For the few that survive, the gambling itch drives them to go to higher stakes, where the variance in absolute dollars will eventually overwhelm their resources.

I've seen it around as long as I've been in the game at all (~10 years). And I've seen countless promotions for it on WPN. I know it's very popular and I see it being played at high stakes with things that I like: Straddle+ante, bomb pots, etc. I'll load it up at micros soon here and start feeling it out.

Looks like they changed the Saturday tournament to $350 every week. Personally, I'm not a fan of that. The field will be smaller every weekend now. I think the move of having it once a month was smart and got people in because they felt it was a "special" event there. The $160 field was always big, and BEYOND soft.

Action player steamrolled table! IMO majority of PLO is shifting from FW to Mohegan. With 1-2 games running daily and few times a week 3 games. Last Saturday 1 of the regular action players absolutely crush the game. Looked like he had 25K in front of him, winning almost every pot. Is that a record for capped games? Does he always run hot? I was on the MM but every 3 minutes I saw him shoveling 100's and then scooping them back up. One of the wildest heaters I've seen in the last 10 years. Players buying in North to try to stack him, but he couldn't miss. Another player went as far of accusing Stating he receives special treatment. Not even sure how that's possible, but the 2/5 PLO @ Mohegan is by far best game in the state lately.

Mohegan Sun had the worst tournament fields for years and then I stopped playing there. I once played in like a $250 tournament that paid 18 players and we got down to 17 I was short stack with like 9 blinds (I had just lost AK vs AJ all in pre-flop) and the two chip leaders asked if we wanted to chop evenly 17 ways. All of the other players had less than 20 blinds so we chopped it. Seriously. I will be going on March 2nd and the reason I will be there is that Foxwoods has a Friday tournament and their regular Sunday tournament. But even moving forward given that Foxwoods Sunday tournament is every week it is a very smart idea by management. Will it work though? Depends on how they handle their tournaments now (see below) by prizminferno m (https://www.twoplustwo.com/post?postId=58428736#post58428736)

it also makes it take forever for cash tables to open on Saturday, which is the best day of the week there they just never do anything right schedule a 600 or something, forget these 350s

They may go for a big tourney once a month but they are raising it from a $160 to $350 so its a shot to have bigger tournies. The reason I stopped playing in tournaments at Mohegan Sun (MS) around 2016 was because this happened: They had a $300 tournament and you started with 15,000 chips and 30 minute levels (I think). There were 9 tables at the start. Then about 15 to 30 minutes later they filled a tenth table with new entries and started it up. But the problem was they gave every player 20,000 chips. I found this out because a regular at Foxwoods (FW) bounced and went to the cage to buy back in and was given 15,000 chips. Which he complained to the Floor about, and found out that all the other tables had started with 15,000. The Floor said they would look into it. My buddy passed my table and told me the story. So I went up to the Floor about 10 minutes later to find out what was going to be done about it. I was told that the Floor hadn't yet looked into it. Seriously. But they were going to. So about 10 minutes later I bounced and went up the Floor and asked what they found out. They still hadn't gone to review the Video. Then I asked what would happen if they found out that Table 10 did start everybody with 20,000 chips. And I was told they didn't know. They were going to the video room right then and would be back in 5 minutes. I waited 5 minutes and no sign of the Floor so I walked across the casino to the Gaming Commission. I filed an account of what had happened and the Secretary who was there told me her boss (the head of the commission) was off that day but she would try to get in touch. She didn't know anything about poker so she didn't know what would be done if it was true. I got back to the poker room and the Floor still wasn't back so I bought into a cash game because no way I was going to buy in for 15,000 chips and be up against players who started with 20,000 chips. The Floor came back and indeed they had started with 20,000 chips at Table 10 but the Floor still hadn't been apprised of what was to be done. The Floor offered me a food coupon (to stop my emotional tirade I would guess) but I declined it and said I would take it only if they offered it to every player who had bought in for 15,000 chips. Which was a mere pittance because the correct amount of money to give players would be about $100 each because 5,000 chips is 33% of our starting stack. The final decision was to do nothing. That's right. Nothing. The Gaming Commissioner had ruled on it and I was told he had spoken with the head of the poker room (who wasn't there but was a friend) and was told that would be the best plan. Now there were many possible solutions to make it right. Like giving all the players at Table 1 through 9 an extra 5,000 chips. Or reducing the stacks of all players at Table 10 by 25%. Or removing 5,000 chips from each player (eliminating some possibly...). Giving back all Table 10 players their buy-in and allowing them to re-enter for 15,000 chips. But yes they decided on none of that. So I didn't go back for about a year and a half. I went back to see if they had corrected things. Like announcing the chip stack size at the beginning of each tournament so all dealers would hear it. Or have a Floor walk over to each table as it started up and verify with the dealers that chip stacks were correct. And especially never starting a new table with only late entrants. Move some players from the other tables because guess what? They will immediately know if people are getting too many chips. But incredibly they did nothing to make sure starting stacks were the same at all tables. I then talked to a Floor who had been a dealer at FW. And he had never been told about what had happened. So I haven't been back since. But I am going on March 2nd. My guess is that the Floors will not have been told about that fiasco or how to make sure it doesn't happen again. Which in reality is very very unlikely. But my problem with the room isn't about preventing this specifically but it's about how they aren't willing to stand up for the players and defend them when the room makes a mistake and instead are only looking at their profit. Still the field should be awful. So there's that.

^That’s outrageous but doesn’t come as a surprise. They are awful at running tourneys there and have been for years. Floors are notoriously terrible there as well. Bad attitudes. Pointless must moves for 2/5 when they have four games open and a list. Favoritism with sh** regs. I could go on. Btw this new policy they have in tourneys where re-entrants get priority over late entries is completely mental. You can drive all the way there and plan to enter late and get locked out from entering because someone who already dusted it gets to skip the alternate line. It’s so backwards and bad for business it makes my head spin. It’s also a complete cluster and creates unnecessary work (much like the pointless must move system at 2/5).

Mohegan Sun: The only place I've ever played 11 handed ... AT A FINAL TABLE!! Pretty sure it was the same $300 weekend crap show. We told the floor we could all just go back to our regular two table seats since all 11 players remember where they were, but nope. They didn't trust us. Let's play on with a frigging 11 handed final table! Turning away the players during the last flight of the holiday tourney after Xmas was horrible too. Players bought in like 30 minutes late and never got seated as they didn't allow alts to come in late a couple levels after registration closed with starting stack still being 25bb. They just sent them home. Guessing it cost them another 400+ buyins because it probably happened in the another three flights as well.

The $600 is interesting. Looks like they're open to diversifying their tournament offerings. They have so much extra room now, that it really shouldn't be a problem to have these big events on a Saturday. Not to mention it would drive so much foot traffic to the cash tables and nearby slot machines on a weekend. So again, has anyone been playing the new Saturday tournament? They don’t have enough staff (and floor space) for big tourneys and cash to run at the same time. They clearly prefer to cater to cash games. I’m assuming they pull in more rake there. I played the Saturday $350 once this month and it had around 170 entrants.

Interesting drop in attendance each week. I think this will change to a $250 or less buy-in soon. Not sure how sustainable a weekend $350 is with the weak fields blowing through their buy-ins at twice the rate of before, and the the FW weekend competition. I like the larger buy-in once a month and maybe two or three times a year doing a little 4-6 tournament series

Starts at 1/2 which is $400 cap. 2/5 $1k cap always runs, usually with multiple tables. 5/T $2.5k cap runs regularly. There is 2/5 PLO regularly as well.

They don’t have enough staff (and floor space) for big tourneys and cash to run at the same time. They clearly prefer to cater to cash games. I’m assuming they pull in more rake there. I played the Saturday $350 once this month and it had around 170 entrants.

I played the Monday and they had 7-8 alternates before they decided to add a 7th table to the tournament. They clearly didn’t want to “waste” a dealer on the mtt. So you pay the extra $5 for the dealers (for extra chips) and then they understaff their dealers. Even in an empty room with dealers they were still hesitant to add another table/dealer.

AND they make you play 10 handed. All so they can keep the 1/2 games opening. It’s such BS. We’re paying a big rake and can’t even get treated as equals. No cash games are 10 handed. It’s not like there are 500 entrants and they’re trying to accommodate as many as possible. It’s a freakin standard weekend daily with 150-175 entrants. How bout this…make 1/2 games 10-handed. Why are we treated like such crap as tourney players here? /rant

I eat throughout the day (bananas, granola bar, etc..). I prefer not having to play until 10pm, personally. The last two Saturday tournaments I played before they switched to the $350 ended around 8pm which was nice

I know, the longer levels definitely add up over time. Maybe 30min break would be better? I feel like a long break interrupts my mental flow state. At that point in the tournament it’s starting to get more serious. No way to please everyone with something like this. At least now I know instead of showing up surprised

Interesting. It looks like a pretty big drop off each week and I fully expected that. The $160 price point was ideal for most people. Now when you brick it a few times in a row it hurts more. If they were going to increase it they should have done a $225 or something. More than doubling the buy in of their biggest weekly event wasn't a good move imo.

The reason its a good move is that it will attract players who would like to play in Foxwoods $400 Sunday Tourney but don't because its the only decent sized tournament that weekend. It also opens up more cash game tables while getting roughly the same tourney rake.

Hi, if anyone knows? If there Triple status point on every Thursday including Poker room now (this summer?)? If I get the ignite status in July, how long does it last? Only up to 9/30 or last for a whole year (or even permanent ? forgive me if I'm being too naive). I search the Mohegan website, and can't find anything explaining the period of the status. Yes, it's Triple Status points every Thursday in the poker room (and everywhere else of course) every Thursday this Summer. If you get Ignite status, it will last all the way through to the end of the next six month period, which would be March 30. The way to maintain your status would be to earn the same number of Status points (400 for Ignite) from October 1 to March 30. Basically, your total resets to 0 every six months and you have to get it all the way back up in order to maintain. I got Ignite last summer with the promotions they were running and managed to keep it all year despite only playing poker there once a week. If you aren't familiar with the system, make sure that you are checking for Achievement Awards. Every day you have the opportunity to earn an Achievement Award (worth $25 for me, not sure if it is more for others) if you earn enough status points. It only takes me 3.5 hours of play on Thursdays with the triple status points to earn mine.

Any locals/regulars able to share the rake breakdowns for Mohegan and Foxwoods? I played a bit maybe 6 months ago at both, cant remember what MS was but I know I was shocked at FW with the $2 on the flop at 1/2 and what I think was $7 total, not counting any extra for promos/HHJ's Basically just looking for what the buyins, rake, and general feel is on current 1/2 and 2/5 NL at both and if Limit Holdem is ever spread (was told no at FW by the players that day but still cant believe the staple 2/4 and 4/8 games are truly 100% gone until I hear it from people who know for sure)

Dan GKRegular33 posts

Rake for 1/2 and 2/5 is $6 + $1 for the BBJ. $1 at flop, $10, $30, $40, $50, $60 and the $1 for the BBJ comes out at $20 I think. For buy-ins, 1/2 is $60-$400 and 2/5 is $200-$1000. Games are hit or miss. I think the room has a reputation for having a lot of nitty older regulars but what room doesn’t? I see 2/4 limit running occasionally but definitely not all the time. Maybe someone else knows the schedule.

$4-8 Limit Holdem runs a few days a week at Foxwoods (Bravo is your friend in this regard). As previously stated the $2-5 NL game at Mohegan can be hit-or-miss in the daytime hours but the $2-5 game at Foxwoods is horrifically tight to the point where it is a complete waste of time to sit in it.

I found the Mohegan 2/5 comprised of more than a few players who love talking strategy and letting everyone know how “plus ev” they are. Also it’s never a good look when the entire table (including the dealer) discussing how “bad” the main game is.

The irony of this is they're likely not even winning. There's 5-6 good players max at MS and they almost all play 5/10 over 2/5, and none would talk like that at the table. Those people are just **** regs and are really, really bad for the game. They're necessary for the room to exist, however, as they keep showing up and paying rake. Smile and wave.

Yup I would agree overall. I generally saw younger 20 somethings being loud and my (old man) opinion is they are just happy to be “good” at something and enjoy the “ego boost” it gives them talking about poker terms. I see that at lots of places but the best places and table have little poker talk outside the very basic stuff so while they might not be the crushers they take away from the overall EV any game can have.

Do choice credits roll over each month? I just got ignite and only got 41 choice credits applied to my account, I thought it was supposed to be 50? As far as I know, 41 credits won't even let you exchange into mohegan dollars. Maybe it's prorated if you get it mid month? Also, it says 2 complimentary greens fees each month. That's in addition to the choice credits? Or do I need to use choice credits to pay for the rounds?

No they don’t roll over and yes it was prorated because you got ignite mid month. Same thing happened to me. There are a variety of things (mostly food) that you can spend 15 or 25 choice credits on. I believe the greens fees are in addition to the choice credits but I’m not sure. Not a golfer.

Two green fees a month are free ( 4 for Leap and 8 for Ascend). You have to pay for the cart if you’re below Ascend. You can use choice credits to pay for the cart, it use to be 20 choice credits, not sure of current cost.

This Sunday August 11th, we are going to have a special 8-16 HORSE game. Starting sometime before 11:00 a.m.. apparently many of the poker players are getting a free $75 gift card on that day. So since the players will be at the casino anyway we thought we'd have a special game. All are welcome. Of course, our regular Wednesday and Thursday games remain intact. We're approaching 3 years now.

I'm not a negative person. But I'm on an Internet forum today, so here it goes... **** the Casino of the Earth poker room. Do you remember when we could pretend to be kings of the world, strolling past a 100ft techno lit waterfall into the goddamn most elegant poker room you've ever seen? Sky high ceilings, beautifully appointed. Gold and natural curves wall to wall. In the middle, a goddamn stage. The energy was so different in that room. The players, the dealers, the floors all had the attitude that they were in some special place. Having a nightclub outside a poker room has got to be +EV for thinking players. It was. It was. Now what does Mohegan Sun have? Ugh. I'm not even going to describe it. You know what it looks like and where it's located. Mohegan does have some of the best dealers. I just wish they had a nicer room to showcase their skills and maybe ****ing cheer them up or something. ****. Last time I was there it felt like they all needed a hug. 🫂

I don’t think anyone would disagree. The old room was the nuts. Nothing like it being packed wall to wall on Friday and Saturday nights. I used to have to get there at 6:30 if I wanted a seat at $1/$2. I was sad when the rumors started about it moving, but then realized the entire casino was closing, so they had no choice. I wish they put a little more effort into the new room in terms of visuals and atmosphere. Unfortunately, that costs money, which is not something a casino is willing to do for poker these days.

They have all brand new gorilla gaming tables that cost 4-5k per that are about to be installed with the new bravo/shuffle machines. There's rumors of a new stage area coming in the back near tables 25-27, but who knows. I would like the color scheme on the walls/rug to change but I mean, that's really whatever. They're definitely putting money into the room overall though.

Eight years after screwing up a tournament really badly, Mohegan Sun now will not have a late table just be the people who signed up late. In 2016 there was a tournament where they accidentally gave a late table 20,000 chips per person where the rest of the tables (nine I think) all got 15,000 chips. One of the reasons it happened was that there were no players at the table who could see that the starting stacks were wrong. Now there will be players from others table that will know what the starting stack is and will likely prevent that from happening, if it comes up again. The other thing that makes it a really good idea is that it will help prevent people from colluding by showing up late in groups of two or more players. Hopefully. Not that it's happened. Just makes me feel so much more comfortable playing there at their Saturday $355 tournament. I prefer live games to online specifically because colluding is so much harder to do. Though at tournaments where seating is random it is less likely to happen (unless all late players are seated at the same table...) The last tournament I played at Mohegan Sun a couple of weeks ago, they took one player from our table (and I would guess some other tables as well) to help start up a new table, and I hope they keep doing that. I'm starting to like the room a lot more and starting to feel trust, like they will have our backs.

What do you mean? That you need to immediately announce a re-entry? The main reason is that it shuts out players who are late regging when they are out of seats (which they often are). The player who shows up late has to wait for someone to bust who isn’t re-entering. Also why do I have to announce I’m re-entering to the staff and field? It just creates unnecessary attention and over-communication etc. Sometimes you bust out and want to go for a short break and then reg later. Re-entering should be exactly like initial entry. First come to the window , first served at the window. This whole jumping the registration list is just so bizarre and terrible and not done anywhere else (including online).

Agreed. It’s one of those things that makes no sense when you just take a second to look at it. Also, the room is massive with a lot of dead space and often several tables not being used. Why can’t they spread the players out more instead of going 10 handed? It would make playing more enjoyable, and would allow late-reg and re-entries to be able to sit down easier. 10 handed only made sense in the old room when every table was jam packed

Don’t get me started about 10 handed. It makes no sense whatsoever. They just want to squeeze you in like cattle, get it over quickly and open 1/2 games as quickly as possible (which are 9-handed). It’s disrespectful, like tourney players aren’t paying rake and don’t matter.

Tournaments have historically run 10 handed and cash 9 handed. Still room dependent ofc but that is I have typically seen in most rooms over the years.

Yes that is a mistake. You don't call the PLO8 game unless you have a real board for the pink chip game. Problem is the hard core OE guys aren't going to hang around because it takes so long to get into that game. I have found the floor there are not good at all. It's a shame.

So everyone who plays in these games is expected to give up all the comps, upgraded cards, etc. they played months to attain to revolve around one person who was banned from Mohegan Sun? No thanks, I'll keep my business right here.

Heading down to MS in a few weeks for a few nights in the middle of the week. Are the 8/16 OE games still going on Tuesdays? I noticed on Bravo that they offer a 20/40 OE game on Wednesday. Anyone ever play it before? Is it a good game? Likelihood of getting a seat at 9 am? I figured its prob just the same 8-12 players who all save seats for each other, is this likely?

I have been a regular in the $20-40 O.E. game since it's inception 5 or 6 weeks ago. We usually start around 9:30 so if you arrive a few minutes before 9 when the room opens you should get in the game. Game consists of players of various skill levels and has been gaining momentum in the last few weeks, usually lasting well into the evening often with a backup list as well. Hope to see you there in a few weeks!

Fishfry - I was there on June 25, so two weeks ago and the game was going. It seemed to have started around 10, and it had about 6-7 players. I had asked the forum recently about what an average BI would be and when a rack or two were advised, I thought a little steep for me but I could handle it. That was until I saw that each player had a rack of 25s and not 5s 😂

Concerning 5-10 NLHE, how often does this game run? Does it go daily or just during the weekends/busy times? Also, what are the min and max starting stack sizes?

5/10 runs Thursday (11 am-??), Friday and Saturday (afternoon-close). Buy-in range is 500-2500. $10/half time.

Pretty unfortunate that they raised the rake again. It is now 10% up to $7 at $1/$2 and $2/$5. Still a $1 promo drop but they are dropping an additional dollar on days where the high hand promo runs.

Seems to becoming the standard range $8-$12 range including promo drop. Long are the days of the $4+ $1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wonder for how much longer 1/2 will continue to exist in major casinos? Eventually the fish are going to have to figure out that a rake of 5 BB per hand is unsustainable long term? 1/3 isn't much better. 2/3 would be much more interesting game.

Not much longer, another decade maybe. I was recently in San Juan, Puerto Rico watching a friend play baccarat next to their little 4 poker tables. As I was watching I realized the rake was as high as $20 per hand on a 1/2 game. Mind boggling Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Most of the chronic 1/2 players are not playing to make money. They are playing for fun or just to pass the time.

But (assuming you mean are talking about Casino Metro) that games were so incredibly soft it was still profitable for me (albeit precovid).

Does anyone know anything about the two rewards levels above "Soar"? Supposedly it is "Soar Hawk" directly above Soar and "Triumph" as the highest. It comes up when you book on their golf course as a Soar member. I've only seen a Soar Hawk card once in the pits, and the dude had two $750 free bet slips LOL. It's the same as the Soar card but it has a large red hawk in the center. Never seen a Triumph card. I'm just curious what it takes to even get those cards and what they offer. I've scrounged the internet and can't find a thing about it. I asked my host and she didn't really reply.

First post in a long long time. Only go to MS now when I'm passing through CT from Long Island which isn't much these days, once a year if I'm lucky. The fact there is no actual place to go play live poker without driving up to turning stone etc is wild but that's a convo for another day. Weird, confrontational and downright headshaking vibes at the non main 2/5 table on Sunday when I was staying close by and wanted to splash around a rack of nickels for old times sakes. Everyone is obviously a reg besides me, and considering I barely play anymore I'm also the mark which should be obvious. I get into a hand with Reg #2 lets call him who I haven't seen play a single hand or really do much besides fold since I sat down, I have mid or maybe even 3rd pair, bet flop etc, he bets turn or river and I jokingly say oh man I haven't seen you play a hand since I got here - def folding. As strictly a light hearted joking commentary on the situation. He then seriously starts going off on a ****ing tangent about how I don't know him or anyone at the table, and I should keep it to myself and not talk or say anything. Stone face serious to the point where I thought he was messing with me and would eventually crack a smile, but never did. We go back and forth for a minute and eventually he moves to the main game, I leave with $800ish after buying in for 7 including a top off mid way through the session, as the vibes were just really off putting and honestly not friendly or cool from most of the regs besides like, 3 people who were chill and cordial. People, this aint the ****in WSOP Final Table, we're playing 2/5 for no more than a couple G's at most. Let's ease up and keep the people who can barely spell GTO in the games for as long as possible, myself included.

OMC is going to OMC. The poker world has changed since 2013 in NE. With Encore opening and poker rooms in virtually every city in NH, there are far few casual players visiting CT for a weekend looking to play.

Never understood people that are rude in a poker room. The social aspect of the game is a key reason I play live . If you don’t lie people or yourself for that matter stay home and don’t soil the game

The miserable vibe at 2/5 NL has been persistent for years. PLO is where you want to be for a more fun and social atmosphere. Hell even a 1/2 NL game is more fun on a Friday or Saturday night than playing with those 2/5 NL dolts who take themselves way too seriously.

MS has recently been offering me free rooms for a few dates in September and October. Unfortunately due to work I may not be able to take advantage of them. Does anyone know if MS will offer free rooms into Nov or Dec (obviously holiday and vacation week may not be offered)?

Check online, I get free rooms every Sunday-Thursday those months except the big holidays like Thanksgiving, etc. or big concert dates. I've recently gotten a few free rooms on Friday nights as well. Saturday nights, forget about it unless you're a mega high roller. I have a black card and not once have I been offered a free room on a Saturday night, but IDK if I've even asked either. If you have a host, contacting them is your best bet. I've gotten several rooms I would've paid for, comped through my host. During the week they should comp you assuming you have a decent amount of gambol in your history.

Kind of a long shot here but does anyone here know how much play it takes to accumulate status points playing on Mohegan Sun’s online casino? I’m 11 status points away from the next level and not sure I’m gonna be able to make it back to the casino before September is over. by Perrone66 m (https://www.twoplustwo.com/post?postId=59107098#post59107098)

Yes in my experience as Nov/Dec get closer you will start seeing free rooms show up on the calendar in those months. I’m in the same spot as you where I only have a few weeknight rooms available through October right now.

The 7+2 rake is pretty brutal. I know it's common in many markets but I remember MS+FW being on the lower side nationally. One of the more entertaining aspects is that any pot seeing the flop is raked for $2 right away. So you have many pots with open limping, including on the button, where 2 or 3 players fight for $3 or $4. I think California players are wise to this but the pool at MS seems not to care. The hunt for high hands has become a main attraction, with the annoying game of raising and betting (aka "poker") serving as a nuisance to those just trying to bag their $500 hit

I believe the increase in rake/promo drop is a big reason many players are migrating back to Foxwoods. On quite a few mornings in the past weeks the $2-5 NL game isn't starting until 11 or 12 whereas before the increase there was always at least one game right at 9 a.m.

How does the thursday night $180 bounty usually do here? I play at foxwoods mainly but the thursday night tourney only gets like 35 players and I think it might be time to move over to Mohegan.
