It was an inside joke between one of the players and a chat mod. I kept mine on for an extra few hands because they were lucky, but I couldn't deal with the hand sweat for very long.

I had to miss the last few SNGs of the series and didn't win the seat. Played the tourney anyway, ended up getting 5th for 109k. The viewership seemed to be pretty good for the SNG series, hopefully they'll run it back.

I'm in Kindle jail at the moment, apparently because my eBook's cover, title, description, and author name all resemble an existing book, which can only mean their brilliant AI-based fraud detection system thinks I plagiarized my own paperback. Now waiting 5 business days for a human (hopefully) to review my case. The future is fun. But the paperback is alive and selling better than I expected so far. Preordering was a mess of delayed shipments for some reason. But a lot of people are starting to get their books this week. Supposedly that all smooths out after a few months. Assuming they don't ban me for plagiarizing my eBook. I'm going to do a promotion for it in OOT for my 100,000th post, once the Kindle thing gets cleared up. But you guys get a sneak preview.

Just caught up a year's posts. Some awesome news in there... lacky on a sailboat, Suzzer playing live AND writing a book, and children growing up. Feels great to remember those fraught days of pure oker. Got here from Instagram. Brynn Kenny has crossed $70 million in tourney winnings. Now normally I celebrate such poker success, but just can't do it. Sunday million, SB v BB, I have c40bb, I 2.2x, he 3 bets to 6, I call w J9o. Flop JT9 rainbow. Check, bet, jam. He has J8 and hits the straight. All fine, I bust and he then spends 30s telling the table what a moron I was and how badly I played the hand. Still rankles after c15 years. Otherwise all well, although now living in Lima. Still have my place in Arequipa, still have a bed, booze and board offer open for you all ❤️

Went back to the UK for an army reunion, recreated our platoon photo from Sandhurst.

() And we pushed the boat out for the coronation. Invited 20 people for a free lunch! I'd just had a hernia operation and couldn't manage to fasten my trousers ��

I'm pretty mobile - often in London. I went to Naples, Italy, for much of September/October for the pizza/weather/mozarella/ice cream. Melbourne for December/January. I guess I get around!

I was in Naples for one night in September. Got sick from food or the water from the hotel sink. Threw up throughout my long day of flying back to LA. Fun.

Minor bit of soul searching a few weeks ago, I turned down a job offer to be head of poker content at one of our competitors. Daliman has just had an unimaginable tragedy in his family. I'm not sure if I should say any more here, except look out for kids huffing keyboard cleaner, aka dusting. It can literally turn deadly. He's trying to spread awareness of this issue, so I'm 99% sure he'd be okay with me mentioning it here. You gotta get out of California. It's definitely not all mine. Bigjoe and I made the picks but we had other investors as well. Several other pretty well known poker players had pieces of other winners, including Irieguy.

20th anniversary of UIGEA today! Hey xPeru! Great article there. And congrats on the promotion 😀 Missed ya! I'm still in the industry as well. I make poker training software (solvers, etc) now. I got burned from the grind a few years after BF. Had one of my best months ever and decided to use it to float myself through learning how to code and built a poker training app. Been doing that ever since. Now I build solvers and tools to help players, but I've basically not played in years. This year I've really been missing the good old days, and poker in the US seems better than ever (post BF). I've been playing some SnGs in the (very rare) times I get an hour free. It probably only adds up to a weeks worth of volume in the last year but I'm up a few grand playing mostly $20~ SnGs. I can't believe these aren't more popular. Perfect time-boxed game to play. I hope I get more time to play while they are still around.
