What's a scene from a movie, or TV, that is universally regarded as great...but you have a small, or big, nit-pick? I'll go first. When Harry Met Sally The fake orgasm scene. Hilarious, right? One of the classic movie scenes off all time. But... My problem with it is that the character of Sally WOULD NEVER DO THAT IN PUBLIC. No way in hell would she do that! I don't think she'd even do it in bed lol. What's yours?
Ruin a great movie scene with a nitpick

Whiplash Fletcher keeps telling Andrew about the greats and how they were shaped. I do believe he set out with the intention of helping create the next great Jazz musician but his final invite to Andrew was only meant to humiliate him and belittle his existence. If Andrew walked out and never played again Fletcher would have considered that a victory. Instead, Andrew plays Caravan on his own and even while he’s performing, Fletcher is still yelling at him about how he’s going to get him back. Then Andrew unleashes the beast and bam NOW Fletcher wants to take credit for that? No bro your intentions were elsewhere. You ain’t want to just give him a hard time. at that point he wanted to put the finishing blow on Andrew’s career.
Over time, people have reduced Five Easy Pieces down to the hold-the-chicken scene. It's one of the weaker parts of the movie to me; I don't really think it's bad, just misvalued. Now I think one of the best scenes is the very last, when Nicholson is warned by the truckdriver to prepare for bitter cold. Nicholson shivers, jacketless.
I didn't really need the 'implied' rape scene in Lawrence of Arabia... however it was important to the Lawrence characters arch, and ultimately the change in his view of the sacrifice of war the western 'rape' of other cultures.
got another one: In The Thing, everyone knows that even a piece of the Thing could infect others, and yet McCready blows up one of the infected humans with dynamite, instead of just burning him. Seems like a bad idea, as you're blowing up thousands of pieces of Thing all over the place.
Key Largo Rocco (E. G. Robinson) has a gun on Bogarts character and is likely to kill him but Bogie talks his way out of it. Claims he can't do it with all the other people (witnesses) around and that he would even have to kill his own guys. Rocco see's this as valid and doesn't kill him. One of Roccos own guys tells Bogie that was quick thinking and he saved them all. Flash foward 20 minutes and Rocco goads the cop character into going for a gun (unloaded) just so he can shoot him in front of the same group of witnesses.
It would be impossible for anyone to tip over a full 55 gallon drum while tied to a chair like Harvey Dent did in Dark Knight.

Also: Hey let's tie up everyone together while doing the blood test, that's sure to cause no problems if one of us turns out to be the Thing!
Robocop One of Robo's directives is to Uphold the law, yet he can't arrest a senior officer of OCP due to directive 4. So how can he uphold the law? Dick Jones freely tells Robo that he had to kill Bob Morton, yet in a later scene berates Clarence Boddicker for telling Robo he worked for Jones- "he's a cyborg you idiot! He recorded everything!". Yet he confessed to having Morton killed knowing Robo records everything.
Project Hail Mary Possible spoilers! The plan is for astronauts to go to Tau Ceti to find out why the Astrophage is eating the suns, right? But they can build a ship only so big to use the Astrophage they are breeding to power the ship to get there - they won't have enough to get back home, so the heroic astronauts will not be coming home. They are giving their lives to save the Earth. But once they get to Tau Ceti - where there's lots of Astrophage, why can't they just harvest enough for the flight home??
You mean just scoop it up from the sun? I'm pretty sure in the novel they had to use tons of solar panel things in the desert to harvest astrophage. It's feasible that there's not enough time to develop a more portable solution to include on the ship.
Shouldn’t Batts have said “I know you YOUR whole life” to Tommy instead of “I know you MY whole life” being how he was 13 years older irl? (Frank Vincent was six years older than Pesci att)

So you're saying that without Rocky and his ingenuity Grace and Earth couldn't have figured out how to scoop up the Astrophage from the Petrova Line at Tau Ceti? Didn't seem like it was outside of our technology.
One that always kind of nagged at me, but in the Matrix movies, they understand that basically every normal person they meet in the Matrix is an avatar for a real human locked in a pod somewhere for energy. However, they just kill these random people in the Matrix (who are essentially innocent bystanders) without any hesitation or concern all the time.
I would guess that Starling wasn’t supposed to go directly from the asylum to the garage and search Raspail’s car without telling anyone back at Quantico.
Macy Gray ain't letting Lonzo into the house without reading the warrant first.
Pretty much everything in John Woo's Face/Off (with full credit to the How Did This Get Made podcast). First, the FBI has the technology to make John Travolta's voice sound exactly like Nicholas Cage's voice. What is the secret technology? Putting a "microchip" in Travolta's throat. No explanation. Second, faces are removed and swapped just by cutting around the edge of the face and then sucking the face off the skull, which totally works because we all know that faces are mostly just attached around the rim. Third, Nicholas Cage is being held on a floating "sea prison" that is so secret that "Amnesty International doesn't even know it exists." But when he escapes, he just swims to Los Angeles. Interestingly, none of this nonsense detracts from the movie at all.

Pretty much, FO started shooting 1/4/97.

There is an explanation for this but the explanation is theological in nature.
The brain slowed the bullet enough that it didn't pass through?
