Hello, here's a story about one Estonian FL player called Taavi, that is, me.

It all started on May 30, 2009 8:40 PM ET when I recieved my free starting capital at Full Tilt. (No, wait, it started from my school, where poker suddenly became extremely popular. It doesn't matter, anyway.)

At first, I thought the strategy needed to pass the test was not worth following, so I played "my own style" at FL FR 0.1/0.2 tables. Had some fun, until I suddenly found my BR on $32 or something.

Then I downl... erm... found from street Phil Hellmuth's book "Play Poker Like The Pros". Read the FL part and loved it. Started to follow his strategy and managed to win some of my money back. I still didn't believe in PokerStrategy's articles, don't know, why.

My bankroll started to grow, mostly because of the First Deposit Bonus. I found multitabling, started to believe in PS, spent more and more hours playing poker. Slowly (wasted lots due to bad play and MTTs) built my BR over $100.

When I got 18, erm... I mean 19, I decided to withdraw the minimum, $100 to buy drinks for my birthday party, cause I thought I wouldn't get enough money for it any other way. Grr... bad decision. Still have that withdrawal on my bank account, haven't used any cent of it.

Now I had about $4 and 1400 FTPs left at Full Tilt. Tried some FTP satellites, lost half of the points. Tried some SSS, lost the $4 (and started to hate SSS). In this miserable situation, taavi1337, poker addict, had only chance. He made a minimum deposit to Full Tilt, $30.

Thanks to my excellent play (no need to laugh) I made it to $160 in one month, moved up a limit to 0.25/0.50 FL FR, recieved Biggest Bonus Ever and some rakeback, so my BR was $209. In one week, I managed to do this (excluding $14 untracked winnings)

so my current bankroll is $145 and I have moved back to 0.1/0.2. No tilting, just some bad luck and some mistakes. Mostly bad luck, I think. Still quite happy - remember the withdrawn $70 profit and the fact that I have grown my $30 to $145.

Hope you liked my first post. Sorry about my bad English.

(By the way, I'm playing at four tables while writing this. I shouldn't do that, right?? ♦)

Thank you very much!

Ok, today I revieced rakeback for about $12, so I was able to move back to 0.25/0.50 with my $154. But soon I found myself on $142 again. Now I had some very good luck at 0.1/0.2 and earned $8.31 with 192 hands (21.64 BB/100).

Current BR: $150.55

I'll make a little break now, but tonight I'll be grinding 0.25/0.50 again. Let's see if I manage to survive at 0.25/0.50! ♦

AA: I think it's too dangerous flop to just call here, so you should raise flop.

Im having trouble at 0.25/0.5 myself. I know i can beat it, the players are really really bad, but i somehow just cant keep a winning streak going. I played with you a couple of hands on FTP. I normally try and avoid conflict with you and focus on the fish. Today you played 2 hands against me and you played a strange line.

You called my raises/3-bets on the turn and donked the river on blanks. I think it's better to raise directly on the turn and value bet the river in case you think you are ahead. You just miss out on a lot of value with the line you played (1 BB may seem trivial, but in the long run it ends up costing you a lot more). Just a friendly tip

taavi1337Shark449 posts
Posted Sep 28, 2009, 7:33 PM#33

Hi enemaze, I think I remember the hand you mentioned. I wasn't using tracking software at that time, so I can't prove it, but I think I had something like AA or KK and the river made the board paired which gave me two pairs. I put you on two lower pairs and made by weird decision due to strong hope it was so (it's also called tilt, I know :)). I decided to donk the river (which I guess, was not blank) for value (laughing time! ♦ ♦). Actually you had trips.

I hope it was you who I played against, otherwise I'm double-shamed.

Thanks for advice and reminding me my bad play, I had already forgotten the shame. I'll remember your name and will try to avoid you, especially when you have trips.

Damn, I need to work on my turn and river play.

Hmmm.

FL FR graph looking strangly swingy. I think it should be more constant and without so big ups and downs. I would say it is normal if it was SH graph. Are you sure you are not tilting, which will make downswings bigger? I would suggest to read psychological articles, develop good postflop game and start watching some SH videos. You should prepare well before switching to SH, because I think FR is pretty dry to fish ♠_biggrin:

_Anonymous_Shark499 posts

My SH graph is MUCH swingier. This one looks good to me for FR. It just has to go up more

taavi1337Shark449 posts
Posted Sep 29, 2009, 1:42 PM#36

I'm not tilting, I think the downswing is caused by some bad decisions and some bad beats. The FR tables at this limit are full of fish, sometimes there are even too many donkeys (as described in previous posts).

All I need to do is to develop my skill by playing more hands and watching the videos. Psychology is not that big problem for me, I think I can handle it.

Ha, started the new month with a nice session, won $12 today. The software crashed many times and the Blue Screen Of Death was seen once; I guess that's the reason why my PokerTracker claims I only won $2.46. Gotta laugh here.

In September things didn't go very nice, I lost over $70 with winrate -0.37 BB/100. 21 000 hands were tracked last month. Less than August's 25,5k; that's because of school. Very small difference, not taking my final grade too seriously, lol.

I also tried two $0.75 + $0.10 9-man satellites to FTOPS $250,000 tournament, lost both. If I'm able to win the satellite SnG, the main prize of $22,500 is going to be a walk in the park.

Tonight I won $1.67, was up to +$11 once, which means my bankroll was over $280 for some time. In the end I tried to play enough hands so that the day would qualify in the Iron Man Bronze promotion, but I failed. I got so tired of poker that I quited while I had 47 FTPs of the necessary 50. I'm happy to say I didn't tilt. ♦

When I look back now I see that I played two sessions today with 3,5-hour break between them and they both lasted about an hour... Damn few, total of 585 hands.

Bankroll consists of 72o's, and is:

Heyyyy, not bad. Close to moving up to the next limit. What BRM requirments have you set for yourself in terms of moving up? Or is it going to be a question of confidence?

My last post got lost somehow, it was posted before Ejeckt's reply...

Short review:

I was up to +40BB today, now only +9 BB.

Look at this hand:

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/):

Play hand (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/handreplayer/forum/148703/)

$0.25/$0.5 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with K:c, A:c.

2 folds, MP2 raises, MP3 folds, Hero 3-Bets, 3 folds, MP2 calls.

Flop: (7.4 SB) 4:c, K:h, 9:c (2 players)

MP2 checks, Hero bets, MP2 raises, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.7 BB) 6:d (2 players)

MP2 bets, Hero raises, MP2 3-Bets, Hero calls.

River: (11.7 BB) 8:h (2 players)

MP2 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 13.7 BB.

Results follow:

Hero shows a pair of kings(Kc Ac).

MP2 shows three of a kind, nines(9h 9d).

MP2 wins with three of a kind, nines(9h 9d).

Nice flop or what?

The problem is I am not beating 0.25/0.5, even though I managed to move quite quickly up here from $30. But as soon as I get bankroll of $300, I'll try $0.5/$1. I love BRM, it seems impossible to go broke with it.

When I have $300, I'll start with the new limit - what do I have to lose? If I fall back to, for example, $290, I just move down again. Ok, I end this post now or it will get lost again.

BR: $273.71

Dont worry, all you need is one good day and you can beat 0.25/0.5.

0.5/1 is about just as soft @ FTP, i havent seen any exceptional players so far. It is a bit more aggressive, so stats come in handy.

BTW, i would keep playing 0.5/1 even if you go down to around 250$, since losing 10 BBs in a session is surely possible. I'ts just about having the discipline to move down at a certain point before you go broke.

My first session of 566 hands on $0.5/$1 went pretty well, won 16 BB (2.95 BB/100).

Things I like about $0.5/$1:

I just had a winning session there.

BB = $1, so it's really easy to calculate and graphs are clear.

Pots are two times bigger than on previous limit.

I earn twice as much FTP's as I earned on previous limit.

I saw lots of donks at the tables, I think this limit is still low enough for them.

And finally, I have never seen a pot of 38 BB in FL. Now this happened at my table:

Here's a nice all-time graph:

You can see I was at 0.5/1 once which requires $300. At the highest point I had $360 but I had to move back down to 0.25/0.5 with $280. I don't think it's tilt or bad BRM, just lack of skills.

The BB graph is much better (♦):

You're right, the BB graph really does look much better than the $ graph. I'm going through a similar experience, actually. My decision was to apply more conservative BRM. I'm going to wait for 30-50% more BB's before I move up to the next limit... just because it's an ego-killer having to move down

Good luck, hope you crush 0.25/0.50 so bad it kicks you higher up and never wants you back

I dont think it's lack of skill that caused you to move down a limit. Im pretty sure your game is solid (yo can always improve it, obviously), you just hit a run of bad cards against bad players, and it happens sometimes :).

The play in 0.5/1 is about the same level as 0.25/0.5, so if you beat the first, you can take on the 2nd. Just a matter of time.

enemazeMicro-Stakes Grinder9 posts
Posted Oct 21, 2009, 6:27 PM#67

I think you missed the point of the article, it says that you should always strive to improve your game and criticize your play to maximize your edge.

Downswings can happen, you can play a hand perfectly and either get sucked out on or run into a better hand. This process can reoccur often, and there you have it, a downswing. You cant really do much about it, just analyze your game and make sure you in fact played it well. The article says "if you lost 100 BBs, maybe something is wrong with your game", not "if you lost 100 BBs you must be doing something wrong".

It's good you want to improve, but dont underestimate your skills. I think confidence in your game is also good, not in an "i know best" kind of way, but knowing you basically play better than most players at your limit to me at least is comforting and gets me through the suckouts. Im not saying never doubt your decisions, you should always review your play. And who knows? maybe other players will lose 200 BBs when you only lost 100, you cant really tell.

OMG, pot of 43 BB??!! Wtf. ♦

You certainly overplayed your aces. Why do you check/3-bet flop? Bet it out. On the turn and river check/call, but fold to raise (he capped the flop in multiway pot, I'd put him on trips or at least two pair). Badly played. The river 3-bet is awful, I would fold that river to raise.

Well, I did great today, won over 60 BB with 519 hands (11.5 BB/100). Met some donks who just wanted to give their money to me ♦.

Hi again, my BR is now $300.84, but I decided to move up to $0.5/$1 when I have $325. When I fall below $300, I'll move back. I don't think I can handle these wild swings and therefore need more conservative bankroll management.

As I have written in my blog, last time I moved to $0.5/$1 I quickly built myself a bankroll of $360, but then fell to $275, moved down a limit, but the downswing continued until I had only $220 left. I hope I learned a lot from this.

Just dropping by to say hi to fellow FL-er.

I see you only play FR, how about switching to SH? I started playing SH as soon as I reached silver and I can't imagine to go back to FR, because of all the action SH.

And nice lifetime $ graph you got there. ♦

Thanks!

Hmmm... I think I will try to beat $0.5/$1 FR first, then switch to SH. I don't think I'm good enough for SH yet, it's sure harder to play. What are your experiences? Is SH that much harder to beat?

_Anonymous_Shark499 posts
Posted Nov 2, 2009, 4:22 PM#80

To tell you the truth I can't really compare the two, because the same time I climbed up the limits I also switched to SH, because there were no FR tables on that limits on Pacific.

I'd say it requires more adjustment to players and game is way more aggresive than in FR, but it works for me, so playing solid FL I think you should do just fine there.

Yes, here at FT there are plenty of full FR tables at $1/$2 and some even at $2/$4, but I've heard they're full of TAGs ♦. But I still think I will switch to $0.5/$1 SH when I have over $500 in my BR.

I actually found that 0.5/1 FR at ftp is relatively tight and it's hard to find a good time to play when it's very fishy and profitable. I rarely made over 20 BBs in 2 hour sessions 4 tabling. In sh, 20 BBs profit is pretty much a slow day ♦

I got stuck near $300 and was unable to get it near necessary $325 (my BRM for $0.5/$1). I had an awful suckout day - I think I was playing my best poker but these fishes kept hitting that fucking river (which is rigged). Therefore, to avoid boredom, I decided to play SH. Results were quite expectable, soon I found I had only $280 left.

I love the action at SH tables, but it's keep me more busy than FR and exhausts my eyes. At noon, when FR tables are super tight and/or empty, there's still plenty of fish at SH tables. Sometimes everybody leaves and you get it to HU against a donkey, awesome! More FTPs and rake is being generated at SH, too.

So, today I played only $0.25/$0.5 SH and actually made some profit, about 25 BB with 1000 hands.

If I get $325, I think I'll play both $0.25/$0.5 SH and $0.5/$1 FR, depending on the amount of fish swimming around there.

BR: $303.88

SH addicts me, I won a lot there today, got $325, started playing 2 $0.5/$1FR

I'm planning to move to $0.5/$1 SH when I have $550, I have bad experiences with moving to the same limit FR tables (you can see it at the all-time graph below). I don't play FR anymore, but I think there's something evil luring at $0.5/$1 and I don't want to risk too much.

Nah, nothing evil in 0.5/1... it starts at 1/2. ♦

Just kidding. I think it's good to set a BR at which you feel comfortable playing. However, you might consider playing one fishy 0.5/1 table with ~500$ BR, just to get a hang of the amounts and action going on (well, since you already played 0.5/1 FR, that shouldn't be a problem).

I haven't played any 0.25/0.50 tables at FTP, but believe me - 0.5/1 can be fishy as hell. Especially at times like - now, when fish are literally crawling around begging to take their money away. I just stopped playing and there were tons of 40+ VP$IP / 5 BB+ Avg Pot tables. If you hit some of your outs you may finish at 55bb/100 over 150 hands (it's a mere coincidence I'm mentioning these figures in the context of my play ♠_grin: ). On the other hand you may as well catch the other side of variance and make same loss, I just want to tell you there's plenty of bad players and you shouldn't be afraid of that.

Results follow:

Hero shows three of a kind, eights(8d 8s).

BU shows a pair of aces(Ad Ah).

I thought he had 66 on the river and made the crying call. Actually he had only 30 cents left and he went ALL-IN. I was confused too after taking another look at this hand. ♦

MP2 checks, Hero bets, CO calls, BU calls, MP2 folds.

Turn: (8.2 BB) 7:c (3 players)

Hero bets, CO folds, BU raises, Hero 3-Bets, BU calls.

River: (14.2 BB) 6:c (2 players)

Hero bets, BU calls.

Final Pot: 15.9 BB.

Results follow:

Hero shows two pairs, nines and sevens(9s 9d).

BU shows three of a kind, sevens(Ah 7h).

BU wins with three of a kind, sevens(Ah 7h).

He had like 2 BB left on the turn so I ignored the fact he was a supertight rock and put him all in. I would have dropped below $500 anyway. ♦

Don't laugh at sinus function, that's meta mathematics behind FLSH poker and is essential to every FLSH player!

You don't believe me?

Here's the proof:

I've been exploring this for the last 4 weeks now. I'll write a Diamond FLSH password protected article when I'm finished (still negotiating about the payment, SoyCD assured me it will be a 6 figure number). Since it will be the biggest breaktrough in poker since Izmet Fekali announced his LAG playing style there is probability that PS Diamonds will run with 43+BB/100 for at least as long as the entire world poker community discovers it.

But, PLEASE, don't talk around about this... it's highly confidential.

I withdrew over $20 within the last week in $5 increments. How? Two of my friends asked me to send them $5. They went broke (of course) and I did it again. Got $20 cash from them, which is great, as minimum withdrawal is $100.

Lost some money today, tables were full of regs...

BR is around $680.

I chose a long-term goal, that is, to beat $5/$10 FL SH.

If I can do that, I can do anything.

I don't know why it took so long...

Maybe because I was busy destroying my computer. That's right, I got depressed of those XP's blue screens of death and installed Windows 7. While doing that I accidentally deleted the partition list and lost access to my hard drive. I thought my files were gone forever and smashed my head against the floor. Then I managed to recover the partitions by the help of Google.

As I dual-boot and use Windows only for poker, I expect the Microsoft's system to do at least that one thing I need. Failed. Blue Screen again of course, twice in 60 minutes. Now the system's running without crashing over 2 hours, must be some kind of record.

Even if it doesn't crash, the system is still awful. I'd say Win 98 was way better.

Seriously, screw you, Microsoft.

After I had been doing useless installations all day, I expected to win at poker. You know, bad luck there, good luck here. But instead I fell into some club of losers (no offence ♦).

Have fun!

I had a great hand today:

Hero is BB with 8♣6♣

Someone openlimps, someone raises, someone calls, Hero calls, we go to the flop at least 4-way.

Flop: 6♠6♥3♦

SB donks, Hero calls for overcalls, at least 2 more calls.

Turn: J♥

SB bets again, Hero raises for value and protection, one call, SB 3-bets, Hero calls, one call.

River: 8♦

SB bets, Hero raises and instantly gets Blue Screen of Death, restarts his computer..., maybe now the one coldcaller folds, but SB definitely 3-bets, Hero tears his hair cause he times out and loses the hand.

I'd like to thank Microsoft for their nice rigged operation system.

As I cashed out a bit and gambled a bit after Christmas, my BR wasn't so great anymore. Today I added +35 BB and now I'm at $787.

Happy New Year!

Let's say I run Win 7 in sandbox using Linux. When Windows crashes, I can boot it up rather quickly and maybe don't time out so often. But when Linux crashes (doesn't happen so often) I'm helpless because I have to reboot and then load up VirtualBox. Also VirtualBox is quite inconvenient in my opinion.

I just had trouble replacing XP with Win7 and I'm to lazy to reinstall all that software again (PokerTracker, FTP, Pidgin, Firefox blablablabla).

We need some kinda Poker OS, Linux can't run all things like PT3 and Windows crashes all the time and is awful to use.

You don't understand my point that you may install two Virtual Machines running WinXP. So if one crashes you instantly logon on other.

And if you don't like VirtualBox try Microsoft Virtual PC, VMWare.

No Limit is more swingy and you can lose more with one hand than in Fixed Limit. BR might grow slowly, but at least you wont lose so much, when you catch a downswing.

Stick to English next time.

I once tried NL SSS, it was the most boring thing I have ever done. I think NL BSS is more fun, but it's damn complicated. Also you play much tighter than in FL SH and get much less action.

Now when I'm starting to handle FL I see how tricky it really is. You have to make so much tough decisions, like thin valuebets and calldowns with ace high or bottom pair + no kicker. In FL almost every hand goes to the flop and every flushdraw goes to the river. It's just SO MUCH action. FL SH is the best form of poker I have ever tried. Seriously.

You say that BR grows slowly. I don't know about that, I thought my bankroll skyrockets incredibly fast. And I'm still a total noob at poker.

I don't think so. They say that FL SH is one of the swingiest. You can run hot over 5k hands just because you're lucky. That's what generates regular fish.

Hey taavi1337

I have a piece of advice that I think is relevant. Apologies if I'm off beam as I don't mean to be preachy, but it occurs to me you need to hear it, like I've needed to hear diferent advice in the past.

I don't expect that you'll fully appreciate what I'm about to say for lots of reasons (it took me over a year to REALLY get this, despite being really open to the idea), but this advice is the nuts:

You post BR updates every day, but you need to forget about winrate/bankroll other than as a leak identifier. The only leaks I'd look for with these is VPIP/PFR/AF breakdown type statistics. Improving your game through study is all that matters (which I know you do through posting hands at the very least).

I never used to think the bankroll updates I posted were causing me to focus on them... I always convinced myself that I was comfortable the BR was the byproduct of my play + variance. But until you REALLY stop looking at your BR you won't realise just how much it plays on your mind.

As a tester, try deliberately not checking your BR for a week. Focus more on your play in each hand, in the moment. If you find your mind drifting toward thinking whether a session was positive or negative or what your BR is at any given time, then you can be sure it is impacting on your game more than it should.

I'll end my (hopefully welcome) monologue here. If I'm off beam with my comments I apologise as they are meant to be well meaning and supportive.

I know you're damn right, Waiboy! I'm trying to not care about my BR (while playing, I already look at my graph and Cashier less often than I used to! ♦).

It's not easy for me to ignore the money, I have never had a sum like $900 before. I hate the "scared money" syndrome or whatever it's called. But I'm not a robot and I'm not capable of playing my A-game after a -8 BB/100 session with WTSD 29 and W$SD 34.

I post my BR so you can see where I'm at, whether moving to the next limit or dropping down to the previous one.

As a tester, try deliberately not checking your BR for a week

Or try to ignore your life?? ♦ I'm happy if I can forget my BR for 5 seconds.

Thank you for the great advice, I know I have a long way to go to be a succesful player.

HA! I know exactly where you're coming from which is why I hoped my unrequested advice was given!

I spent a year or two playing play money on PokerSchoolOnline/PokerPages trying to win free moniez (before I knew that such things as free bankrolls existed). When I joined PS.com I went from $50 to $500 within a few months and thought I was gonna be a pro!

Since then I've had some sick periods where I've lost heaps, gone through the "why am I doing this to myself" phase of dropping from $1/$2 SH with a 700BB roll, back to playing $.25/$.50 with a 700BB roll. What I've now become comfortable with is that unless I'm playing 5/T - hell 20/40+ - the bankroll, and therefore the limit, is kinda irrelevant. All that matters is constant study, constant improvement. Results will come.

I have known this for about 10 - 11 months, I only really understood it and appreciated it 1 - 2 months ago. Work really hard at wrapping your head around this concept and you'll go a long way!

PS - contrary to a long held belief of mine, psychology articles, books and videos are not a waste of time. If you haven't had a good look at some of these, do so. There are some really important lessons contained in them - and even if you know it, the articles et al reinforce just how important applying the lessons is.

Hi Waiboy, run to Full Tilt to play some poker! ♦

Seems like the Rush Poker brought a lot of fish to FL tables, too!

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/):

Play hand (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/handreplayer/forum/242360/)

$0.5/$1 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 9:h, 9:d.

Hero raises, MP3 calls, 2 folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (8 SB) 3:c, K:s, 4:s (4 players)

SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, MP3 calls, SB calls, BB calls.

Final Pot: 10 BB.

SB shows high card king(7d 6c).

BB shows a pair of fours(Ad 4c).

MP3 shows a pair of threes(3h Qd).

Hero wins with a pair of nines(9h 9d).

FU, I would have earned $3 with a river valuebet (that's right, the 76o guy would have called, too).

Well, at least they didn't try the bluffdonk/call-bluffdonk-bluffdonk line which I also experienced today. Such a donkfest going on there

_Anonymous_Shark499 posts

Omfg, it's bad, but why you stopped the session. You shouldn't stop just because you didn't win a showdown, you should stop when you don't feel confortable. Don't know how bad beats reflect you, but I think that you should play more hands to beat the variance.

WaiboyRegular47 posts
Posted Jan 29, 2010, 9:20 AM#204

Hmm.. I think you should stop if you are thinking about the results, not the correct play.

If you continue to play volume to beat variance, it doesn't sound like you are completely focused on the play.

If you are lucky enough to be able to divorce a series of coolers/beats/bad decisions from your decision making, then playing on makes sense. Personally, I stop as soon as I realise I'm thinking about the losing hands too much - that's tilt for me.

kennyxxNewbie3 posts
Posted Jan 29, 2010, 10:22 AM#205

I agree with Waiboy.

BTW: Once You decide to not watching Your results, don't even watch the tracker (except of turning on the HUD). E.g. how did You manage this:

Had a nice day. Not watching results, of course!, but running 10BB/100 for 2,5 hours brings smile to my face

Eighter You are watching the results and lying to Yourself or there is a tracker in Your head

I see it's not easy to don't track Your results at all for some time and not everybody is able to do that, but once (If) You get used to it, Your game will rise to next level. You did a first step by hiding Your buy-in. I took me a lot of time to not watching all those mighty numbers during or just after sessions, but I feel much better now.

Just watch Your graph for a previous months - there are no 181 hands long "bad runs?" What helped me a lot in the past was switching from watching daily/weekly graphs to monthly ones. I mean only monthly ones. Give it a shot and You'll see

Or ignore this post if it's completely out

That "not watching results, of course!" was a joke copied from Waiboy.

I'm getting impatient. All I want is just 100 BB more so I could play $1/$2. New limit would give me new passion! (or perhaps cause some tilt at least)

_Anonymous_Shark499 posts
Posted Feb 2, 2010, 8:36 PM#209

if you're that close and a bit impatient you may well start to add some FISHY 1/2 tables to get better table selection. It also makes the "jump" less big and makes it less of a deal to move down again if you run into a bad streak there.

I tried this once and I do it all the time now when moving up. Just mix in some good tables of the higher limit.

An added bonus is is that it makes you really indifferent about the limits. They all become BB's instead.

You'll discover more advantages yourself. Too long to list them here. Maybe not, but I don't like typing a lot

Cheating? Hmmm... I'll try the honest way, that is, developing more patience. BRM is like a bunch of goals and I think I should reach them by playing according the "rules". Ah wtf, I'm just scared of losing my BR ♦

_Anonymous_Shark499 posts
Posted Feb 2, 2010, 9:41 PM#212

Imo the BRM PS teaches is so ppl don't waste the 50$ and to show that it's important. I agree it's important. That doesn't mean that this approach is perfect.

So who did decide the BRM has to be 500BB and not 509 BB? Or 480? Or 450BB?

The guideline is 500BB if you decide to move up AT ONCE. So today I played 1/2. And tomorrow I'll play 2/4 and 1/2 is past.

If you have common sense then mixing in some fishy tables of a higher limit is actually a good approach.

  • you have double the tables to choose from, so better table selection

  • less rake at the higher limit

  • you slowly get used to the play at the higher limit intead of doing it at once.

  • less bad feelings when moving down

  • whether you want it or not, you'll start thinking in BB's.

Perhaps my advice is more useful starting at 1/2 or 2/4 where you will notice that you can break even in terms of $ even when permanently losing at like 0.6 BB/100 due to rakeback.

This makes the fear of losing the bankroll disappear.

disclaimer: this post only makes sense if you feel comfortable at your current limit and that you think you can beat it.

Inspired by this subdiscussion, I decided to do some cheating today. It felt so goooooood! Played $1/$2 SH with 475BB to be more specific, so hardly acting like a maniac...

Ofc, if it goes pear shaped it won't bother me in the least... been there, done that. And that is the attitude you need to be able to adopt to take shots at higher limits earlier than recommended BRM with some comfort IMO.

By the way, I didn't see the result before I wrote this.

WaiboyRegular47 posts

I think bet/fold too, depending on reads on who raises - you'd be folding in a big pot and there are definitely players capable of opportunistic raises here. The 9 is more or less a total blank as all straight draws miss.

Against TAGs and most passives it's a definite bet/fold.

After the $240 tourney winning I started to add one or two $1/$2 tables to my sessions again. I'm running break even or slightly under zero in the last few days, but I'm still capable of semi-grinding $1/$2. Here's one interesting hand against typical Full Tilt $1/$2 FL SH reg:

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/):

Play hand (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/handreplayer/forum/276878/)

$1/$2 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9:c, 4:c.

2 folds, BU calls, SB calls, Hero checks.

Flop: (3 SB) 5:c, J:c, 2:s (3 players)

SB checks, Hero bets, BU folds, SB calls.

Turn: (2.5 BB) A:d (2 players)

SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

River: (4.5 BB) J:d (2 players)

SB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 4.5 BB.

Results follow:

Hero shows a pair of jacks(9c 4c).

SB shows a pair of jacks(4h 7d).

Hero wins with a pair of jacks(9c 4c).

I was going to bet all streets for value against seven high. But on the river he waited two seconds before checking; he had only done that before with ten high. Therefore I decided to check behind, take the free showdown, and correct my note on him.

It is fucking impossible to win a hand while playing under the almighty Microsoft Windows. I flop a set, he calls me down to the river where the flushdraw completes and board pairs. He donks and I get THE FUCKING BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH! And no, I won't make it back to the table because I had another BLUE SCREEN some minutes ago and my disconnect time bank is empty. Thanks man! I don't want to see TAGs on my right side either, those places are reserved for calling stations and maniacs. I have started to use the different-color notes which Full Tilt offers. I mark huge fish with blue, semi-fish with orange and TAGs with red. That way it's easy to avoid taggy tables and pick the fishy ones. My SpadeEye trial-period is over and the note system is even more comfortable to use.

The hoodie looks really cool and fits me well. The logo is cool and so are the pockets with magnets :f_p:. However, it's totally synthetic fleece or whatever you call that material; I would've preferred cotton. This one just doesn't let the air through. With +18 degrees by Celsius and up it's too hot to wear imo.

Our hero has comfortably taken position on huge fish. Just look at his stats, we have a pure calling station here.

MP2 stats: 56/5/0.6/64 (50 hands)

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/):

Play hand (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/handreplayer/forum/319925/)

$1/$2 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with A:d, K:s.

CO posts deadblind, MP2 calls, Hero raises, 4 folds, MP2 calls.

We can see that another fish has joined the table and the calling station of course limps in, too. Ha! Let's raise them.

Flop: (6.5 SB) A:c, J:s, 4:s (2 players)

MP2 checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls.

Nice board. Let's valuetown him if he is on a Queen high or 22+.

Turn: (4.25 BB) J:d (2 players)

MP2 checks, Hero bets, MP2 raises, Hero calls.

Wtf just happened. He has never ever checkraised anybody in the whole poker history. The question is whether he would checkraise worse hand than JJ here... I want to fold. I am sure that calling is a mistake here. My only hope is that he is on a misclick.

River: (8.25 BB) 9:s (2 players)

MP2 bets, Hero calls.

Now the flushdraw gets in... ah, that's a blank anyway against his monster range. Is he capable of turning his misclick into a bluff? Maybe he's just double misclicking for balancing reasons... OK. I call.

Final Pot: 10.25 BB.

Results follow:

Hero shows two pairs, aces and jacks(Ad Ks).

MP2 shows a pair of jacks(8c 7d).

Hero wins with two pairs, aces and jacks(Ad Ks).

What? Wtf... WOW. I won't trust any stats anymore. EVER.

Yesterday I played the Baltic freeroll with my three friends. We made a deal that the winner (the one who gets the best result) gets a beer from everyone. I ran so hot and owned them as they fell out pretty quickly.

Funny things started to happen on the bubble. I had one bigstack bully in my table with 500k. Everyone else had 100k or less. I had 30k and was so tired I started to play back at the bigstack who raised every hand. Finally it was me who had 500k and he was down to 80k. As he cared about the bubble and the $2 he started to fold his hands.

Then I trolled everybody with my massive lead and had lots of fun. The bubble lasted about 45 minutes (lol!). Just imagine your 500k stack and the second stack at your table is 80k and you're on the bubble. SO MUCH RESPECT :f_p:. However when the bubble bursted, I went to sleep and finished 3rd.

It's Full Tilt indeed. I'm slowly moving to $1/$2 to get out of your way.

Just fell out from the Iron Man Silver $15k freeroll (surprise!).

I have played like 5k hands in total this month, 1k of them was today. Now that the school's finished I hopefully have more time and energy to grind the hell out of FL. Still, some damn important graduation exams are probably going to disturb me.

My goals:

  1. to grind like hell

  2. to reach 5/T

1/2 is just a downswing, thugh it is getting kinda big for 1/2 limit, it prolly wouldn't get over 300BB if one plays well enaugh, so keep improving and dont think about getting money, and you'll se where you' ll be in 100k hands (if you dont move up to 2/4 already by then).

The worst than can happen. You hold the nuts and time out on the river after a reraise. And this time it wasn't even because of Blue Screen or anything, it was totally my fault.

edit2: I failed the Don't-look-at-BR Challenge. I fell from 1,55k to 1,15k within a short amount of hands and started to worry about falling out from the limit. Hopefully "The Poker Mindset" gives me the power to ignore this.

I have proudly been part of this community for a year now. It's time to make some kind of sum-up.

First of all, I would like to thank PokerStrategy. You're just awesome!

Successes and achievements in my first poker year:

not going broke

mastering the basics of FL

serious improvements in attitude towards poker

building a BR of over $1k

won $240 in a $2 tournament by finishing 53. (BLT)

over 1k posts (mostly spam)

slowly cashed out about $300 by selling FT money to my fishy friends

purchased a Full Tilt T-shirt, hoodie, "The Poker Mindset" and two poker decks

All-time cash game graph (from July 2009):

All-time FL graph in BB:

You can notice a nice 500 BB swing which ate 1/3 of my BR ♦. I also didn't think I have to move back to .5/1 ever again, but now I am here and afraid to move up until I have 600 BB.

Follow the SHC at the beginning! It is a must.

I personally like to isolate fish looser than the chart says, for example any Ax seems to be good from the button. Depends on the situation, though. I also loosen up with suited connectors, both isolating and open raising. I think this becomes pretty standard among players with some experience.

Why not? NL BSS is too hard at the beginning I guess, SnG's require too much time and stable connection. And I think FL is very easy to beat at the micro stakes.

The tables were VERY fishy until now, I just ended my session. Lots of huge fishes, including Waiboy. I even played HU against him and bluffed him hard.

At 01:30 ET Eastern American and NZ fishes go to sleep and are replaced by German TAGs, who have just waken up. I have to get up earlier tomorrow ♠_cool:

There are certain hours of the day, where it is full of super fishes. Mostly at the times when you least expect it, like at 12:00 ET or 04:00 ET. But these hours seem to change every day. Bigger traffic != fishier tables at FT, that's for sure. I haven't played on other platforms so I really can't tell you how "fishy" it is. Depends on the stakes, too. Sometimes the 1/2 tables are much better than the .5/1 ones.

There are more than enough loose/passive players and bad TAGs( )/LAGs to play against at FTP IMO.

Is running -2,5 BB /100h over 7-9k hands normal in shorthanded or its bad play? Because i play same style like PS and stats exactly match.

What hours in EET(Easter Europen Time BTW i'm from Lithuania ) are best to play?

Be happy it's only -2,5 BB/100 ♦. Totally normal, yes.

As I said, I don't know which hours are best to play, they seem to vary depending on the weekday or season or whatever. It has become quite fishy this summer, probably due to WSOP (?)

This is the key. I had a 1500 hand -15BB/100 day on the 2nd that I'm sure has set up my month perfectly - cause it's gonna be REALLY tough to beat that. TBH I tried pretty hard yesterday but failed... went from -80BB to +20BB.

Semi seriously, study a little bit of omaha (just opening hands and the like) then play like 1000 hands at PLO2/4. You should see enough serious sickness to desensitise you somewhat to ANYTHING you'll see at $.50/$1.

Now that's sick. Why don't we never ever have heaters like +15BB/100 for 1500 hands? The opposite variance doesn't exist imo.

I do that too, but manage to have a nice positive return after promotions/points/rakeback/whatever to keep it interesting enough anyway.

But yeah, start playing more to get the volume in. 11k hands is really nothing, sadly.

I have only one question: WTF??

WaiboyRegular47 posts
Posted Jul 10, 2010, 10:38 PM#384

Dude, that just sucks.

You know what the real answer is. It doesn't matter. The last hand doesn't matter. All that matters is playing all future hands as best you can and keep trying to improve.

Now, having said that, 800BB to the bad is pretty WTF? But that's the game. Those results are all just a combination of how you've played each hand, how your opponents played their hands (table/seat selection impacts this), and natural RNG variance.

No matter what the graph looks like, this is the reality.

So, can I suggest a few days off. I tend to play every day, so when I have had enough I've taken two or three days off and I usually feel way better (I tend to get my 1 FTP to get the 15 bonus medals at the end of the month). Depending on your usual volume I can strongly recommend a break for at least a couple of days.

Otherwise you start looking for the beat rather than looking for the opportunities.

Yeah, but it feels good to sometimes make other people tell me this wise cliche instead of constantly repeating it by myself. Thanks buddy, I've always admired your attitude and excellent English skills.

First I have to get one. Maybe I should take a break of not playing poker. Maximum of 2 hours a day is just ridiculous. The main motivation for me so far has been $$$ (sad, I know), now I need to find something else. I don't want to grind emotionlessly like a robot. I want to enjoy the game, not to become its slave.

I think it would be pointless to abandon FL. This is the home of my skills.

My mindset has become sooo strong. I just need the passion what I had when grinding FL FR 0.10/0.20 six hours a day... that was almost a year ago.

Siiick grinding night again. Longest session ever, 5.5 hours. Made some tiny breaks of course. I also 6-tabled instead of usual 4-tabling and took some shots at $1/2 again. Volume = profit, I ran 3 BB/100 during these 2,6k hands and even 14 BB/100 at $1/2 for 145 hands.

I guess it was the opposite day, that is, the opposite night.

Ok, this river play really doesn't make any sense at all.. If he was trying to induce bluff on the river by a busted draw, he suceeded, but obv this was not this guy's intention (he is obv just a huge fish).

Pls tell me about how many times will you get paid of by a WORSE hands on the river with J-high LOL,1 in 100 times maybe? You just got lucky huge here again to get paid by T-high.

Hand is pretty much set for a standard line: call flop, raise turn, and probably check river because there arent enaugh Qhigh strightdraw combos (better hands that you make to fold).

Don't be too angry at me but with your spewiness no wonder you are down 800BB - it's not a bad luck, you are getting beat. I have never got in a downswing bigger than 350BB or so and i have quite some chunk of hands behind me from 1/2 to 5/10 all tipes of FL (FR, SH and HU). Even the 350BB were not just bad luck but getting beat my ass off on higher limits by better plrs.

The thing is the bigger your edge, the smaller the downswings.

Stop making silly moves as they are so costly especially on such low limits where rake is so high.

taavi1337Shark449 posts
Posted Jul 16, 2010, 12:04 PM#396

hahaha, I must really look like a huge fish

Ok, I try to explain it better. The reason why I didn't raise the turn was that this guy had 50 WTSD and he wouldn't have folded anything there. When the river came he instantly checked it so I thought maybe he is capable of folding a better hand there, like Qx or Jx. Yes, it doesn't seem to be a profitable bluff at all, but the reason why I bet there was the timing tell. But you're right, it's probably a spew.

I added this hand for entertainment, right after my bet, he thought a little and called. I was like: "Oh, what a silly bluff attempt from me, I won't do it again", and then the chips were slided to me. Sweet emotion, positive WTF.

I'm now a $1/$2 reg again

Finished in 652. place at the Big Little Tournament for $12. Almost would've gone really deep. Average stack was 12 bb, I got it all in preflop against a bigstack with KK for a 28 bb pot. He had AKo and rivered a flush.

Got my Mid Year Bonus, so the BR is higher than ever before, $1580. I also noticed I can't really profitably 6-table when I'm not in extremely enthusiastic grinding mood. I just forget all the preflop action and lose lots of money because of that. I'll switch back to 4 tables.

WaiboyRegular47 posts

Sweet fella! I hate losing track of the action - often I'll check back to see whether I have built any donk EV for future hands.

IMO playing 3-4 is enough and you'll prolly make more in making better decisions than you'll make from increased rb or reduced winrate * volume.

Especially when you 3bet a LAGtard with A6s and then check/fold QQ9 rainbow flop with initiative.... I'm strong but after this I hate myself and want to get out of the tables as soon as possible.

Later I 3-betted a passive fish with J9s cause I thought he limped in... It's definitely not my A-game anymore when I can't see whether the opponent limped or raised preflop.

  • the downswings get smaller when you are more observant and more aware of opponents actions

  • full tilt prolly has the fastest software out there and playing 4 tables is like playing 5 on Stars (though they have a great software too), and like 6+ on crappy-software sites aka Ipoker and such.

There really were few exeptional days this week with a lot of soft 3/6 tables (more than 1/2 and 2/4), but usually it's not like that.. And these tables break up relatively fast, usually they include 2 huge fish which either don't last long or they hit&run, and then table breaks.

Although tables were really good these days, you cant compare it with .25/.5 just beacuse of Plr/flop rate, because level of agression and average skill is alot diferent (instead of TPAs and LPAs there are TAGs and LAGs which are a lot more difficult to play, and the plr/flop is the same)

DukeFreedomMicro-Stakes Grinder7 posts
Posted Jul 23, 2010, 10:01 AM#419

Sure plr/flop doesn't say everything, but it's generally a good indicator that there is a profitable fish around... And with plr/flop rates as high as this, often even 2 like you said. It doesn't really matter whether the other people are PA or AG then...

Don't worry though, I won't be comming to FT any time soon anyway.

tomzybMicro-Stakes Grinder9 posts
Posted Jul 23, 2010, 11:45 AM#420

I don't play much at FT FR and SH just for the reason there usually arent many good 2/4 and 3/6 tables :), when i play there i mostly bumhunt HU.

ABT AGGRo or passive opponents: lets say its 6 handed and there are two fish. In this case you play other opponents (lets say good for 3/6 and pretty bad for .25/.5 regs) more than half of the time so IMO all oponents at the table definitely matter.

I would rate profitability of table (SH) full of players sth like 25-30/5-10/0.5 (VPIP/PFR/AF) and the table with 2 huge fish and 3 good regs abt the same.

DukeFreedomMicro-Stakes Grinder7 posts
Posted Jul 23, 2010, 12:12 PM#421

Well personally I don't find too much of a difference between the levels of play from TAGs at the different limits. Sure they are (obviously) somewhat worse at the lower limits, but definately not 0.5 AF: that are just the occasional nits, which in essence are just fish as well (but still not as profitable as the real 70/x/x fish).

Most "OK" TAGs I see on the lower limits play pretty standard 25/15-20/1.5 actually.

Also you don't play the good TAGs half of the time on a table with 2 big fish, since the 70/x/x fish will be in the pot most of the time. You mostly play the fish - that's the point.

Both. There is maximum 1 reg in these SnGs, and lots of super fishes. Bad news is that the traffic is very low, you have to wait like 30 min to play a $10 SnG. $5 FR standard SnGs fill up quite regularly, there are bunch of regfishes who love to play these and chat with each other.

I like to play them when I have time and FL SH cash games are full of TAGs.

$5 9-man has usually no TAGs at all, some regfishes and some bad nits maybe.

I believe that $10 has no regs either, maybe 1-2. But these SnGs won't fill up, if you get lucky you can start one or two in one hour. Depends on the time of course. I played $10 9man standard FL SnG in one evening, and it was just madness. Much fishier than $5, total maniacfest.

I once tried to enter a $20 FL SnG, but it didn't fill up and every entrant seemed to be a Russian TAG. So I guess it gets tougher on the higher stakes.

I have played with standard cash game strategy, but tighter in the beginning. You don't really want to be in a 6way pot with KQ. Patience is really important. If you lose half of your stack, it's really not that hard to rebuild. Like in NL SnGs, you should rather focus on the late phase when the blinds are higher and everybody's tighter.

Of course you have to adapt, stealing against nits with any two is really profitable imo. I have noticed that when it gets near the bubble, like 5- or 4-handed, some guys will fold their blinds 100%. I often succesfully raised from the BU with any two. Also it's still very nitty 3handed, even though everybody's ITM. The nits will continue with their FR strategy till the end.

In the late phase you sometimes have to raise/fold preflop with marginal hands, because the reraiser has 2 BB behind and you're pretty much committed if you call him. If you have a short stack yourself, try to get it all-in in heads-up pot with any pair or Ax, villains think that it's their duty to call you with any two.

I found out that 5 tables of FL SH is the best amount of for me. When I play 6 tables I sometimes time out and forget the action, when I play 4 or less tables I get bored and start to worry about my BR.

Played 2,4k hands tonight. At first lots of bad beats hit me and I was playing only 4 tables so I had time to care about this. What a shame, I know. Then I got angry and fell into grinding-mode. Being a little bit angry is good to get the right grinding mood. I played for almost 4 hours without any breaks.

Thanks man for posting here

The problem with the SnGs is that the traffic is very low, so you can't really grind them. I tried one $20 SnG yesterday, failed, and got mad about it. It took about an hour to get the 9 players to join.

$5 seems to be too low for me, as I can't 4table. So I prefer grinding FL SH 1/2, it generates more rake. If the traffic was higher, I would definitely play more FL $10 and $20 SnGs, as the field is sooo soft.

I was down 800 BB during 30k hands (for two months) or something. Actually the downswing really improved my game. I started to post more sample hands, my ego got hit (very good thing to happen!) and my mindset grew soo strong.

Read or reread "The Poker Mindset". Forget about the money, post lots of sample hands. Your real goal is to become the best poker player who is able to make the most +EV decisions in every situation. If you're so deep down, you just can't care about the money anymore.

What happened to me was that I got really tired of the downswing. This gave me the passion to grind like I had never grinded before. Hit a sick heater - and now it's just a cool downswing story.

And you will come out of this. You might have to drop down a limit, lose more than half of your BR, but as long as you still have the passion to improve your game, everything's fine.

Played a 3,5h session. I was playing my best poker, absolute A-game (the first 3 hours at least). I don't think I have ever played that well before. Questioned every little detail, marked about 40 hands out of 1500 for further analysis. Felt so self-confident. Running hot sure helped me, too

Tomorrow I'm going for a cycling trip and will be back on Tuesday. Probably starting to take shots at $2/$4 then, my BR is a bit over $1900 and Friday is the rakeback day.

About the gameflow.

I have noticed that check/calling river for bluff induction isn't working at all anymore. All fishes just happily check behind their draws. I remember that two months ago this was totally different, everybody fell into the trap and you could valuetown the fish very often with Ace high.

Bluffdonking on the SB into two opponents in unraised 3way pots worked out surprisingly well. Picked the right spots and tried this, pretty viable.

Have fun all of you FL grinders

Hey there!

Always happy to see reasonable and motivated FL newcomers

So what do you exactly mean by "catching me"? Being a losing player at 1/2 over 40k hands? ♦

No ♦

I mean to have BR to be able to play the same limit as you play.

But I'm not able to guess when should this happen since I don't know how often will I play in future...

Taavi, this blog is genius! I'm a FL newbie, so it's nice to get some tips. Particularly after I've had a fishy evening like tonight!

What makes you think that your blog is part of the forum? I wouldn't call it a violation, the only thing it's close to is the foreign language thingy, but since it's just 1 word it's np ;).

I now have over $3000 in my BR. Ran hot at $2/$4, then took some shots at $3/$6 and ran 10 BB/100 during 100 hands there.

Wow, congrats man. You really skyrocketed after that never-ending downswing of yours. I imagine it's great to see the work on your game finally paying of nicely.

keep it up

Wow. Great job man. I really envy you. Maybe... it would be better for me not to catch you on your limit I'm just a fish among bigger fishes now

Taavi is a very kind person.

And yes, he did pay me for writing this.

My winrate at $3/$6 is 25 BB/100. 200 hands should be a solid samplesize :f_p:. Actually there's more fish at $3/$6 than at $1/$2 imo, at least today when I played. $1/$2 was full of TAGs but at $3/$6 I got position over 3 big fishes at one table. Average players per flop was much higher too.

Thanks everyone for the supportive posts!

Tonight I tried some high stakes NL live action, that is, NL 200. Estonian kroons. That is, about NL15 in $$. Won +250 BB

Here's some sick $3/$6 action against a fish:

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/):

Play hand (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/handreplayer/forum/466934/)

$3/$6 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A:s, A:h.

MP3 calls, Hero raises, BU calls, SB calls, BB folds, MP3 calls.

Flop: (9 SB) 9:c, 8:d, J:c (4 players)

SB checks, MP3 checks, Hero bets, BU raises, SB calls, MP3 folds, Hero 3-Bets, BU folds, SB calls.

Turn: (8.5 BB) 7:d (2 players)

SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero calls.

River: (12.5 BB) 5:c (2 players)

SB bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 14.5 BB.

Results follow:

Hero shows a pair of aces(A:s A:h).

SB shows high card king(K:d Q:c).

Hero wins with a pair of aces(A:s A:h).

Nice spot on the turn when he checkraises, or what? He coldcalled two bets on the flop so it should be pretty obvius he has the straight. I almosted folded the turn. Maybe I even would've done it if there hadn't been this hand against the same guy at the beginning of the session:

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/):

Hero bets, MP2 calls.

Turn: (4.5 BB) 8:s (2 players)

Hero bets, MP2 raises, Hero calls.

River: (8.5 BB) T:s (2 players)

Hero bets, MP2 calls.

Final Pot: 10.5 BB.

Results follow:

Hero shows a flush, ace high(A:h Q:s).

MP2 shows a pair of tens(T:h Q:h).

Hero wins with a flush, ace high(A:h Q:s).

Sometimes the notes become really useful

I'm so used to running super hot that when I ran 3.4 BB/100 in today's session, I was expecting to be break even or slightly in red. After finishing the session I checked my results. WHAT? +$175?? Lol, kinda creepy when 3 BB/100 feels like a downswing ♦
