I think The Walking Dead may be the best drama thats currently airing/in production. There, I said it.

I met a girl playing poker a few years ago that was a writer on season two of Dave. Maybe yall already know her cause she used to date a pretty well known poker pro. It looks like she’s on the staff for season five of Fargo (she’s the credited writer for s5e7). She told me she was going to name a character after me in a future show. Maybe this is the one? Maybe it will never happen. Sad to hear yall aren’t enjoying it. I only recently finished season one so I’m way behind.
I started Fargo a couple of days ago and am liking it just fine so far. Nothing will ever top the Billy Bob season, but it's fine. I haven't made it to "your" episode yet. What name are we looking for?

Not sure. She thought I looked like a “____” but I told her my name was Mac and she said she would use both names. I wanna say it was “Ryan” but I can’t remember.
Not loving current season of Fargo, but went back and really enjoyed s2 and now on s3. Liking both much more thus far.

There's a child molester in the current season that goes by that name.
That would be wild if she did that! [emoji23][emoji23]
The Great is...........great! Highly recommend.
Finished the first season of Foundation...very good. Epic, beautifully produced. Jared Harris and Lee Pace star with a bunch of very good unknows.
Had you read the books?
oh man, it has lee pace, my desire to see foundation has gone up 10 fold also, despite the bad reviews, someone recently informed me it's only inspired by the books and not following them, which made me 100% onboard because my main concern was that they'd butcher it so much i'd hate it
That was all the complaining I heard originally, that they butchered it so much everyone hated it. I loved the books so probably just won't watch it. Seems similar to the Dark Tower movie. It was so godawful that they started saying Oh hey, it's a totally different story.

I read the books when I was a teenager and loved them, but beyond the basic storyline and main characters, I had forgotten most of it. I think the show has done a wonderful job with it...and both Harris and Pace are fantastic in it - Harris plays Hari Seldon and Pace plays Empire - Brother Day. The two other leads are played by women of color I have never seen before - Lou Llobell plays Gaal and Leah Harvey plays Salvor Hardin. Laura Birn who plays the robot Demerzel is also excellent. I really enjoyed the season. It's quite dense, as you'd expect. I compare it to The Expanse. It has that "epicness" grounded in reality that I liked so much about that show and books. Definitely worth watching. And there's a second season coming!

Any [original UK] Taskmaster fans here? It's probably my favorite show to watch right now. I've binged a few of the series/seasons multiple times. Currently watching the new Champion of Champions 3

I am. The newer seasons have been a bit hit or miss for me, but I thought the latest season was the best one for quite a while, which I wasn't expecting at all. Also didn't know that the new CoC was out. Thanks!

Ya I ripped through the first 8 seasons or so. Been a bit of a grind getting through lately.
Never watched Taskmaster. Start from S1?

Yes
Would I Lie To You is another great British show that Taskmaster fans would probably enjoy. Very consistent too.

I doubt others will agree with me, but I'm not sure why a TV series starts in the middle of things and then needs to slow the narrative down by including a bunch of backstories. I like Slow Horses for a number of reasons and that the show spends almost no time on unnecessary backstories. Foundation is good, but I find myself fast forwarding through those backstories. They know that exposition sucks, but its pull is too great and it eventually sucks them in. Too, they may run out of ideas going forward and have to go backwards in search a subject.
people are more likely to tune in order to get unanswered questions answers lost, who shot jr, i first experienced it with x-men the cartoon, which had lots of episodes hinting at and dealing with mysterious origins of various character's pasts and then instead of given an answer, the next episode would jump ahead to a new storyline instead, leaving those questions unanswered and you tune again next week hoping for results but they never come and then the show is cancelled
Absolutely Fabulous popped up on the Hulu recommended list. I used to watch it all the time back in my stoner days (along with The Young Ones, which I can't find anywhere). I didn't think my wife would care for it, but we gave it a shot. Much to my surprise, she really likes it.
AbFab is so great

I have been between semesters since December 14th through yesterday, so I have had little to do but watch movies during that time. And it takes until about two weeks into the semester before the working of prep and responding to papers begins. That, and my full time teaching position is three days a week for a total of ten hours in the classroom. Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk

I enjoyed Fauda a lot. I have some strong views about that **** show, so was worried it’d be politicised propaganda trash, but felt they did a very good and fair job. Reminded me quite a bit of the Shield.
I have a student, about 18 or 19, in my writing class who has seen every episode of The X-Files. When I said my favorite episode was Postmodern Prometheus, she said Season 5, Episode 5. She also said she knows every line from one episode by heart. Like where do these kids come from? Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
aspergers, 30 years ago before internet they would have read a baseball alamanac for fun and it would have been the batting average of Phillie's 3rd basemen now that data comes in form of steaming video

I've never seen an episode of the X-files. Maybe I should check it out.
I just asked, my GF HATES that episode lol
goat episode - scared the daylights out of me - only episode to ever do that promo doesn't do it justice for obvious spoiler reasons - but go watch foulie a deux now

I like the way that episode referenced Frankenstein, Mask, and comic books. And don't we want to rewrite the endings of some movies? Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
X-Files is just cocaine paranoia.
Finally watched Foundation s1 s2 tv series. Never read Asimov books on this. I was impressed about high level of production. Great set designs, costumes, special effects, visuals in every episode. It looks like it cost a lot to make. Jared Harris, as usual, is the strongest actor here, by far, and makes the story believable. Lee Pace is well cast as the Empire Day. The woman who plays the key figure, Demerzal, does well with a difficult and unusual role. There are tons of sophisticated sci fi, math, and biotech ideas in this show, maybe more than any sci fi show I've ever seen. That's nice, but that, along with the non-linear presentation, also made the storylines really, really complicated. I don't think I understood what was happening a lot of the time, especially Demerzal's actions. Some of it seemed preposterous to me. You have to wait to S2 e9 to get some explanation. Showmakers, let's stop with the excessive flashbacks and flashforwards. Linearity, please. Still, it was worth watching for me. Grade B+.
wait, there's a season 2 already of Foundation??
Lol yup.. S2 has more action too. Sent from my SM-S916U using Tapatalk

Home put the rest of the “scary episodes” of tv to shame for me. I was so damn scared watching that

It's a lot better than S1. Faster pace, more action, better acting. Leah Harvey brings a lightness to Hardin that wasn't present in S1, in which most of her acting consisted of a furrowed brow. Lee Pace remains MVP though.
Lee Pace has such a presence. Rare you see such acting chops with someone so good looking. Had no idea there was a second season of Foundation out yet...very cool. The actress playing Empires's robot is my MVP of the show. She's great.
