Hello,

Villain used to limp quite often with all sorts of hands, including premium ones as a trap. OTF I decided to play it check-call if he bets, but he checked behind. OTT his 1bb seemed like he could be doing this with anything but after I check-raised and he re-raised alarm bells started going off. I still felt like a Q or an 8 could be really good rivers for me and it was not too impossible for villain to have something like QT that I was ahead of so decided to call considering the good odds. With the straight OTR I really couldnt get myself to fold. Was only really scared of Q9. Perhaps should have folded after villain reraised me OTT. Just couldnt get myself to do it with the straight OTR. Please advise

Flop plan seems reasonable, but after that I would bet for value and protection with top pair weak kicker on the turn.

You want to build up a pot now with a decent hand in a limped pot. After villains 3bet I would most likel;y fold. You have a straight draw as back-up, but that could end up in the 2nd best hand. River you hit the straight and that makes it tough to fold on villains pot size bet, but it could be a tell of him/her.

Cheers,

After Villain 3bet I'd probably fold most of the time... ♠_cool:

Given those odds it's tough to fold top pair with a straight draw on the turn, but it feels like you should almost always be behind here.

It's odd that the board shows Broadway cards, yet Villain refuses to fold his hand...

I think you are very lucky on the river...

Hero's check-raise at the turn is correct move.

If I were going to check the turn, I'd most likely just call for pot control, but this discussion is fairly old now.

There's no reason to raise here since this hand has reasonable showdown value and isn't strong enough to justify inflating the pot.
