I watched a poker documentary yesterday about a group of friends pursuing WSOP (https://www.casino.us/poker/tournaments/wsop/) bracelets and rings. One person asked the group: how much money would it take for you to never play another hand of poker again?

What do you think? How much would it take for you?

That's what I've been wondering: how do these people manage to go play in these events? Just getting in is expensive, now imagine the tournaments and the flights! I think we've all seen Daniel's blogs and know how much he spends. I'd love to experience it, even though I live in Mexico

Good morning, everyone. I started playing Poker in 2028 and, since then, I fell in love with the game. I truly love playing Poker. Sometimes I even wake up in the middle of the night just to play Clash Game and have fun with friends. I also play tournaments to earn money, but above all, I play because I genuinely enjoy it.

The question is: how much money would it take for me to never play Poker again? Honestly, I don’t think any amount of money would make me stop. Poker is a game that I truly love playing.

I’ll give an example: Neymar is a multimillionaire and still plays video games and Poker because he enjoys them, because he loves competition and having fun. When a game is truly great and becomes part of your life, money doesn’t change that.

Honestly, I don't think I would stop playing poker for good for any amount of money.

Maybe I would stop grinding more seriously, but poker is more than money to me. It is strategy, competition, development and challenge.

Even after bad matches I always return to the tables 😄

What about you?

I don’t have an exact magic number, but rather a combination of: enough wealth to support my lifestyle, investments that generate passive income, and the mental freedom of no longer depending on the variance of the game.

Hypothetical questions will lead to hypothetical answers. Make a real offer, make a deposit, and we'll talk about real answers.

Hypothetical questions will lead to hypothetical answers. Make a real offer, make a deposit, and we'll talk about real answers.

Or apparently more often, hypothetical questions will lead to complete non-answers with most people unwilling to even entertain the premise.

I think it's pretty easy to come up with a number that would cover my basic needs and some luxuries in perpetuity with room for generous donations based on reasonable withdrawal rates- $2 million

Back to the future, I think you meant 1918 or 2018.

I didn't quite understand the thread, like most of the ones I see and respond to without understanding. I need US$200 to buy food for the month, I'm going to play some freerolls (https://www.casino.us/poker/best-freerolls/) on 888poker, maybe I'll win that money.

I love the game and it's not my main income, you can't buy it...it's just a pure pleasure + fun! 🙂

This is a very good question! there is certainly a number that would make me retire for sure but it has to be sooo big like an insane amount of money 💵💵💰💰

To give up a hobby I love, enjoy and I'm pretty good at a lot of money and it's not even about the money really. I simply don't have that many hobbies that I'm very good at and can still be good at as I get older. I'm 53 I'm not going to be able to keep up with the best sim racers in the world and real life pro championship winning drivers who sim race forever. It's already getting tougher every year.

10 million tax free.

Cheers!!!

I was watching a poker documentary yesterday about a group of friends on their poker quest of chasing WSOP bracelets and Rings. One asked their group how much money it would take for you to never play another hand of poker ever again.

What do you think? How much would it take for you?

There's no amount of money I could reach at which I would stop playing. I don't play for money. Now, if someone wants to pay me not to play, then that's a different story. I love playing poker, but if anyone here is willing to pay me $2000 a month to not play, message me privately. LOL

I would continue playing for pleasure, but if I had $10 million I would no longer play for money as an obligation.

If there are people willing to give me $1 million, I can stop playing. I can easily quit all gambling (https://www.casino.us/) and poker if someone offers me such a deal.

Unfortunately, no one will offer it and I will play poker as much as I can.

Regardless of the amount of money, I think I would still play for fun. It's true that I currently play to earn some extra money, but even if I were to win a lot of money, I would still play.

i think its not just about the money, but its more like achievement and feeling of excitement that when u won a hand on a tournament.

so i rather chase it when its possible

Probably no amount of money will make a real poker fan quit the game.

I would quit for $5, 000 , and start playing backgammon seriously instead .

If I'm being realistic, no amount. I'd probably take the money and still find myself playing a home game a month later.

As in, "how much would someone have to pay me to never play poker again"?

For me, it is quite simple - It would have to be enough to guarantee lifetime security. I'd need a reasonable house and living expenses for the next 50 years, so we'd probably be looking at £2,000,000.

Let's be serious though, if somebody opened a briefcase with £100,000, or even £50,000, I'd take it. That would still have a huge impact on the quality of my life and more importantly, my family's lives.

I don't think this question is really about poker or a specific amount of money. A better way to ask it would be: how much money would you need to stop working and simply enjoy life at a comfortable, ordinary level? For many poker players, the game is more than just income - it's competition, challenge, and entertainment. Even with enough money, I think a lot of people would still play occasionally because they genuinely love the game.

That’s a tough one! I enjoy poker too much to quit for a small amount. It would have to be truly life-changing money, enough that I’d never need to think about finances again

Haven't played for nearly a year but money was never a motivation for me, so when ever I decide I have been away from the game long enough for Zorba to catch up skill wise I will probably start playing again. 😀 Hi, Nick.
