I play for both enjoyment and money. I want to practice so I improve constantly. It would be nice to win a larger sum someday because then I could afford things I usually cannot. Competing in a bigger tournament would be appealing. I know I couldn’t make the final table because I don’t play that well and suffer bad beats, but if the prize pool is large it might still be worthwhile.
definitely poker is a job
For me, poker always will be fun, not play to be famous or earn fortunes, but who would not want to have to work poker🙂 🙂
I love playing; it’s incredibly fun. The more I learn, the more enjoyable it becomes, so even if I became highly skilled and earned money, I think it would simply be even MORE FUN!
first for fun .... over time I think of course everyone wants to win because there is nothing better doque win having fun.
it would work if it weren't for the river😀
Poker mustn't be a work, should just like hobby!
Of course that's my hobby. Poker and gambling (https://www.casino.us/), only for fun. Don't assume it can be a job because it's easy to lose all your money in a short time [A] peace!
I think online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/) is more fun than a job. I think its too risky to hit for money, or this is what my mom thinks. I often wanted to deposit little amounts like 100$, but my mom thinks you only can loose the money and she thinks its not a good idea to try. I think if she won`t have been against deposit, I would have lost some money to online poker. I sometimes win some freeroll money, but never have won so much that I benefit from this.
For me poker is simply entertainment. In this game I relax after a long day and put all my worries out of mind. Hitting the prize pool is a pleasant extra. Poker would turn into a source of income for me only if it started bringing in more money than my regular job. Until that happens, I play just for fun 🙂
you need to enjoy yourself.. if you don't enjoy yourself you can't play as ''work'' ..
If the game focused on the money then it isn’t enjoyable.
I play it for enjoyment, and if someday it can provide me 1.000.000 $ I'll be grateful haha
I play just for fun 🙂
I believe some players play just for fun, while others play for money. For now I'm a newbie, so I can say I play for enjoyment, though from time to time I'll work toward my goals.
Professional poker players are playing at high limits while the rest of us are just poker enthusiasts. On this forum I've never encountered anyone who actually plays high stakes. For me, poker is a logical game and a slim chance to win a million)
Poker: Fun or a job?
Poker is entertaining, but the game rewards us with prizes when we win.
So do you play for enjoyment or for money?
Honestly, everyone plays poker for their own enjoyment, but I'm part of a group that blends work with pleasure and does it successfully. By playing poker they receive both fun from the games and a solid profit. I play poker primarily for the enjoyment.
Thought this would be a great place for my first post.
The main reason to play poker for me is the fun aspect, the second is to make a money on the side until I become a better player. It's trying at times but that makes it all worth the time and effort.
poker is fun , but it can be good my work
Most players play for enjoyment; very few actually win, and far fewer earn enough to live off it. For the majority, poker is simply enjoyable and fairly inexpensive entertainment (depending on which stakes you fiddle with at of course).
I play poker for both fun and money, but if you grind for hours on end it certainly feels like a job.
I would say both. I play because I like it , it amuses me . And also always play to win money if I bet something , I want to win more than bet or at least regain that bet . So I'd say both.
I'm laughing when I get crazy beat and jumping outta my seat when I get a little win. So I'm going with fun 😎
Lets just say that poker work as a leisure thing when we're bored and at the same time a job simply because lucky player gets to win big by playing poker.
Fun players - just fish.
Like anything you hope to make cash at - it's hard work and a job - if not treated that way you will lose in the long run.
But for entertainment well it can be fun and what does it cost to go to the pictures or a show and how long does that last.
I started out for fun and to cure boredom, but now I want to be able to earn; when enjoyment and profit combine, that's a true win.
I can't imagine to play only for fun. I always play to win more and more, and after a while I try to use as a good opportunity to have some extra income.
really fun and interesting to play poker, maybe this is the only game that I can play for hours, but can honestly say I want to win this and money.
I want to earn money playing poker but I probably lack the necessary skills while currently playing just for fun.
Fun or Job
I play poker as a second income. This is for two reasons... One, I love my "real job". Two, there isn't as much pressure at the tables when it is not my only income source. That said, I have all of my poker money separate from all other money and it is used exclusively to fund my poker trips. So I am always looking at positive ROI situations to spend that money on.
Poker it'sfun but I want see poker as soon as job
never won to much so for fun
It started as a hobby for me, just fun with family.
I only got serious 7 years ago.
Now its a part of my life I cant seem to live without.
first you beggining as funn, new interesting game later when you have expiriance you thing to play on a higher level and you take serious game than....
8 Children, 19 Grandchildren .. life shouldn't be treated like a bet
I don't mean to offend, but if you have a wife, children, dependents, or anyone who relies on you, I hope you'll choose work that provides reliable income before risking your livelihood. Poker is certainly more fun when you're not relying on it to pay the bills. Exception: you're independently wealthy and disciplined enough not to lose excessively
It's simple... Some people play for money, others play for fun.
I say both for me. Started out for fun, then was kind of just entertainment. Came back around to it after a few restarts and in past few months it became a challenge, a way to better myself through learning discipline, better decision making, mindfulness, math, mental fortitude, hard work. A bit cliche but thats what happened. Now it's finally become a bit of a "job" in a way. Not looking to make a living but definitely after my biggest cash to date recently I've been working harder on being able to withdraw a few bucks for me and have poker sustain itself while paying me.
I had such a huge shift after talking to a colleague who is a long term online winner and i had a huge moment of clarity. So fun, but also work. And as others said it's become a part of me and my life. Yeah it was I think initially just a way to relax, blow off steam, screw around . But after you start changing things and start winning more than you lose , poker, esp online I think has to be taken seriously if you want it to pay you. I figure I have video games if I want to relax and blow off steam at home. But of course now I want to play poker a lot more than game lol.
Can't put it into words but i love poker. It's taken a long time to get everything in place to actually become a decent player and I want to stay that way.
For me, poker is a hobby rather than a serious investment. But I hope this hobby can become something more. It’s not always enjoyable work. I want to combine my passion with a job... right now my level and skills clearly aren’t sufficient...
I think it starts for fun , and you end up playing for money
can be both, first it has to be fun , something you enjoy doing and do well done , doing well done can be rather a profession, after all who would not want to become a millionaire or billionaire through poker , become a Negreanu or Monemayker , just playing
For the moment i play poker for fun, because i play low limits or even freerolls (https://www.casino.us/poker/best-freerolls/)!
I play poker for fun, but the cash money I get on the freerolls I do protected from big losses so I invested in games I can at least break even like Seat and Go fifty where you only need to defeat half the players so 50% of the Table wins. Is not much but we get less variance. The cash money I get from the Freerolls I use bank roll management, so I guess that part is a semi. 🙄
fun at first
When I began playing poker it was purely for enjoyment. Later I switched to playing solely for cash. After my first major tournament victory, I believed I could make a living from it. I soon discovered that earning a living from poker was just a pipe dream.
now my poker game
now my poker game (https://www.casino.us/poker/games/) , though I wish I were successful enough to call it my job to earn a lot of money from poker🙂)
poker is my job and it's fun when winning
I usually end up losing, but I'm still having fun so far.
"I have fun playing poker like it's my job" — put that in your favorite quote section here lol. It was enjoyable for me when my grandfather was alive and showed me how. I don't compete enough in the big tournaments to call it my job, though. I only play freerolls or buy in if I cashed in a freeroll. Horse racing is a major passion for me; I even bought a few virtual horses with the money I won in an online poker tournament. I've earned more in horse racing tournaments. Just cashing for say $400 and I'd be happy — shoot, give me 10-20 bucks and I'd be fine with that too haha. I finished 5th the other day, which was the bubble 🙁 so I'm still a bit upset with myself about that. But today is a new day, all in good fun and a good time because life is too short.
To me, poker is a fun game I might pursue seriously later but certainly not now :). It's very enjoyable as in the present and I can embrace it fully.
It was enjoyable but I overdid it. Certainly not work I’m cut out for.
Both. Pick a profession you love and you’ll never have to work another day in your life.
Poekr is fun job poker is my life. This is the best thing of my life. For all new players play fun be a pro
I play poker for fun, but I read books, have years of practice and hope it evolves into something bigger one day🙂
it's more enjoyable than a job 🙂
The poker is a funny, but this game give us price if we win.
So do you start for fun or for money?
I started for both! A complement
I play for fun and money. I would start playing poker for fun first to improve your game. Then when your playing well, start playing for money. Poker is always fun though whether a freeroll or not.
I play since I like the game. Just for the fun of it, of course.
When you set daily goals you turn fun into a job, and like any other job you grow to hate it after a while. So avoid that mistake: play for fun — it's the only way you won't get bored playing poker.
If playing poker were my profession, I'd be out of work......
Playing poker is my profession.
It is a pleasure, a chance to win money
Increasingly playing for fun, enjoy this game! A clicking win then it will be fine 🙂
Until you secure a proper BRM and a sustainable ROI, poker should be considered as a hobby.
The poker is a funny, but this game give us price if we win.
So do you start for fun or for money?
I dont like to play gayms, in which I loose my money, to start with. Yeap, poker brings me pleasure, but only in those cases, when i have profit. On the other hand job is steady income, and when I say about my degree in poker, I`m not sure, that I would have it adequately. Therefore I can make a conclusion, that poker is for me both job and fun)
The best game is the poker.
And the best job
Just a fun hobby that I'm somewhat ok at.
It'll always be a hobby for me as I don't ever see myself playing for a living, nor would I ever want to. That lifestyle seems a bit boring to me.
Fun, until the time that income exceeds the job.
I want to turn poker into a job, but right now it’s just a hobby.
For my poker is a complement to my life and work.
Maybe winning good prizes steadytly would think to see it as a job. for now it is only a complement.
First for fun, I try to think that is a hobby that I can make money .
Of course for the money, because I want to become a truly good player (read lots of different books, watch specialized videos and analyze my mistakes).
started as a hobby and is now more for a job
funny money 8)
First it was my hobbies but then it became my job , and that's my job I love poker and that's what I like to do
For me it's purely for fun — there's no realistic way I could earn more playing than by working. I mean, consistently make 30 dollars an hour?
four someone who is begginer he play for fun,but who is a long time playing,he try to earn some money......
A lot of people start playing for fin. But recive money and step to step change to work
Since I'm 70 years old and living with a disability, it’s enjoyable (most of the time, lol) and also a job. By job I mean I top up my Social Security check with a small amount of extra income each month — not much, but some.
Both. I play for fun, but I always aim to win.
I’m an amateur poker player (beginner), and I’m eager to keep learning so I can become a professional.
I started playing just for fun and still do, though the money is a pleasant extra. When picking what kind of game to play, I pick the one that's most enjoyable, not the one that pays best.
I start for fun and now i play just for fun....but i dont say no to a big win.....and the best feeling is when you win money from you passion.
Fun - A job pays regular
Poker has to be the most profitable game out there today, but the most inconstant source of income that I know of, if you played this as a job, I could see some weeks / months of being totally broke until you win a major tournament and build up a very good bankroll (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-bankroll-management/). Good luck turning that into a permanent job. Not something I would want to take on.
For me, poker means study and self-discipline, and occasionally it pays off.
I play for enjoyment right now, but perhaps in the future I'll play professionally.
I guess I play for both.
just fun, but i want be it job))
work if poker brings you the money , and no more than entertainment...
Poker is my whole life!! When I first met my late husband, he said he wanted to become a professional poker player. He worked in IT and I thought, I can't be with someone like that, that's crazy talk. I'm from the South and had never played cards. He launched PokerStars, taught me the game, and I was instantly hooked!!
Poker only turns into a job when you begin to live off the income it provides.
For me, playing poker is the most fun job ever! Hahaha.
Poker is a pastime, yet it can also provide a way to make additional income.
For me it’s mainly for enjoyment and to kill time, though landing a big win is always a bonus
Poker is a fun job 🙂 i think it is very nice job )
i started for fun but i want that was work
yeah it’s different sometimes — play along, don’t go, be genuine, take the money 🙂🙂
Depends
Depends on your life. If you have decent job you can play poker for fun 🙂
it starts like a hobbie but then I see that i can win a lot of money so it becames in my job
Typically, everyone who follows this sport and notices the chance to make money easily and enjoyably just wants to make this sport as succeed, but the major error happening now is that new people enter poker without preparation and are unaware of the risk of losses. Additionally, if they are beginners and lack a solid grasp of the logic and methods of this game, they will lose more. Therefore, be sure to study poker thoroughly and its technical concepts, and yes — learn to control your bankroll.
Of course the fun , the work seems to me to pieces
If poker luck abandons him, things will get very bad — so it's wiser to have skills or a job where you can earn money beyond just poker.
I play it like a job because i can win money playing poker so it is my job
Money is always my first thought. I always try to make it a second job so one day I can make it my first and only job😉
I play just for fun. Besides, I never win.
For me, poker is fun. I'm a gambling (https://www.casino.us/) man. I find it interesting and enjoyable to spend time at the poker table. Maybe in the future poker will work for me. It is well for you as a pleasant affair is the work. But while I am eager to improve their game. It's still early for me to play high stakes. There is a lack of stability. I am feeling that I am playing better and better. There was a confidence in the game. He learned to read the table is not bad. I think that poker has become the work is a matter of time for me.
Poker will always be fun for me — and who would be upset if that fun also brought in some extra cash?
two in one! playing in poker, can be a good time, and can earn good money!)
I began playing some time ago, and purely for enjoyment — I definitely don't treat the game like a job!
Only fun
First for fun, I try to think that is a hobby that I can make money .
Do not know the game of poker for me is routinely break from life! I play poker just relax and think about money all for the second time!
Best Job.
Before was for fun. With the depreciation of the Russian ruble increased income from poker. Now poker is a second job
To start making a living from poker, you must be able to play profitably, and for that you need to love the game. If you really enjoy it, you'll pay close attention and train your mind in that direction. It's also very important to work on yourself — that's the minimum requirement, and for most people it's difficult.
funn of corse
funn of course
Always fun. Only way I would do this for a job is if I hit it big in a MTT!
For me poker is a job, for the entertainment of the iray with friends ))
I used to play just for fun, but now I'm seeing whether I can make money from it...
It would be a dream to go pro (and a bit of a nightmare) 😀
it would work if it weren't for the river😀
Gotta fold river 😛
is sometimes annoying fun job and nicknamed bad beat
Maybe for some it's a job, but for me it's fun. Of course we play for a bit of extra cash, but it's definitely not a job. Maybe one day it will be... who knows 😀 Cheers😀
fun or job
Things are divided. Many people play for enjoyment, while for others it's a profession. I play for pleasure, but I want it to become a profession.
I play to make money obviously if you make money in the end you end up having fun
It really depends where and against who you are playing
Poker is a game that entertains me and makes me see benefits wing is a game that takes responsibility
For fun, don't think I'll consider it a job anything soon.
fun or money
i think it depends on your mood!
if you got a problem you need some money it is not your place!!!!!!!
according to me poker is relaxing game)))
I think poker is likely enjoyable, unless it’s your profession.
It's a really interesting Topic, I'd say that Poker is more for fun for some people & considered as a job for others. It depends that some people doesnt consider poker important in their lifes because some of them have not introduced theirself on the staking real money (https://www.casino.us/poker/). I do not just play it not fun, I also play it to get some money.
In my opinion Poker can be considered in multiple ways, it works different for other people.
fun ,hobby for mefor someone is a job....
I began playing just for enjoyment, but after 2 years I'm starting to realize I could make a living from it.
first for fun.... but definitely poker is job
Fun. always.
I view poker as a hobby with the opportunity to make money. I don't put 40 plus hours per week into playing so I can't consider it a job.
Of course poker is for me fun and for some(few) is job.
for me poquer is fun, because i work for my fun iheheheh
Play poker for enjoyment first. Play poker for money second.
fun & job
I dont think id ever consider poker a job, i play for the enjoyment of the game and if i happen to make some money while doing it thats all extra bonus 😉
I play for fun, I think that only if you are a very student of the game you can say that you play for job.
Since the beginning I played for fun. Now I do not know. I think that if you have a desire to win money in a game, then it is not fun, it's the desire to have money. 😉
What would become of poker work to be a very good player 😀
in this moment only for fun but I hope one day take this like a job
This depends on what you want. If you have financial stability and a good job, you can play poker for fun; but if you’re a skilled player, you can play professionally and try to earn a solid profit.
Do you play purely for enjoyment, or are you aiming to go pro?
Share what your dream poker career would look like 😀 😀 😀
Tell what your dream playing poker😀 😀 😀
EEh... Dreams? Dreams! To win Sunday Million, play with Dwan and Negereanu and became to professionals! LOL
My dream is simple . Become a regular player get good results in over 20 % of the tables in which to participate .
Let the professionalism of young dreaming about it. To me to win the at least a a decent amount of three zeros. That's the dream. 😉
I am not sure if I could become a proffesional. I played Poker a while but the results are not so good. But it would be a dream for sure.
I do not think so much with bad cards
I enjoy playing poker and plan to learn the most enjoyable variant. My goal is to become a professional.
I want to become a solid professional and turn poker into a second profession to earn money in the most enjoyable way, so I'm studying diligently and working hard to get to that level.
I’m not claiming to be a pro, but I’m studying poker with the intention of making a profit.
I believe that the majority of people here want to become professionals.
By chance I can be a very weak fish.
I don't want to turn professional, but I also don't want to just play casually — I want to play for money 🙂
My dream is to compete against all the professional players in a WSOP (https://www.casino.us/poker/tournaments/wsop/) tournament)... and then maybe win the whole thing, haha.
Play just for fun and perhaps land the jackpot? Who can say...
One big cash and i'm never playing poker again. Ever.
When i first started playing poker many years ago, I was all about trying to satellite into the Sunday Million to win a big score. Never happened.
Then somewhere along the way, after reading all the books and stuff, I became convinced that it was all about 'grinding', and subsequently became a cash game grinder for a number of years, not playing tourneys at all.
I find grinding dull. I want what i wanted when i started but forgot along the way: one big score.
And by 'big', I mean $60k+. I could do a lot with $60k.
I want to win at least one major tournament... especially the EPT. Haha, I want to be a rounder xD
I discovered poker through the films and American series ( The Mentalist ) and began studying at intelipoker and MIT , recently ... I do not say one but a pretense of going to Vegas paid for my skill in poker ... not say professional but chance of good placements in itm a big tournament in vegas rather a large tanning
to be honest, I'd love to be a pro,
Always wanted to win big tournaments too. I believe I will win one day. We should not give up but I suggest as I have heard great champions a suggestion that has helped me.
Start and play more maturely and feet on the ground with smaller tournaments and few players even have the strength and sure to get into bigger tournaments.
My dream is to become a professional in the long run. I love the adrenaline I get from playing—whether live or online is great—and I enjoy playing poker; it brings me things like travel, money, and meeting people, hehe.
Saying I dream of becoming a professional player is not as likely to help me learn how to judge the position and strength of the cards I hold. Of course I make a living from poker, but I have no time in my life to dedicate to it.
Want to go to the world series of poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/tournaments/wsop/). To win at least one tournament!
I often dreaming to play in the premier league and climbing Floopi with pocket kings for all his chips and collect the blinds - but for the moment I wake up and it's a beautiful dream
I would like of course to win the important tournament - even entire the league - but I think each of the players have similar dreams and rethink
My goal and not a dream is to become a semi-pro by the end of the year. I am 25% of the way there. What does that mean to me? I need to net $300 a week average to consider myself a semi-pro.
After that, I want to go pro but will have a minimum of 4 years and maybe as many as 8 depending on my youngest son and his college plans. I will not hit the road until he is out of school. Family first.
I want to learn how to properly and beautiful game. And of course profit 🙂)
I want to free roll all the way to $10,000. Then, when I'm ready, I plan to put up some serious cash at the WSOP and try to cash! 😉 It’s a blast when you have the nuts and you slow-play it like a boss!!!!
Doubt can cloud even the brightest dreams. So I work to keep my dream alive by striving to remain the successful player I am. That has been my aspiration, and I'm content to keep going this way so I always maintain a healthy bankroll (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-bankroll-management/).
I want to free roll all the way to $10,000. Then, once I'm ready, I want to drop some serious cash at the WSOP and try to get in the money! 😉 It's so fun when you have the nuts and you slow play it like a boss!!!!
i like ur dream XD me too dreaming for so long
I’m certainly not the first, nor will I be the last, of course, to turn professional ))))
When I started to learn to play poker and I would not dream of becoming a professional. It was just interesting to play. I have now no such desire. But have a desire to win a good prize in an important tournament. I look at things realistically.
My goal in poker is to gradually move up in stakes — focusing on short-term objectives — and eventually play major tournaments sometimes, because I enjoy poker tournaments.
1st become a professional and earn some money.. then to be a ameture player..
my dream win sandey storm or million and build house
My dream is to make a living from poker. So far I’ve only covered some bills and bought a few beers with the money from online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/) , but my aim is to earn a living from it
Of course as a tournament player my dream when it comes to poker is to be properly rolled to grind the wsop (https://www.casino.us/poker/tournaments/wsop/) events and not only win me a bracelet but win wsop player of the year. Big dreams huh? 🙄
My dream is to live poker . So far I only paid some bills and a few beers with the money of online poker , but my goal is to live it
you do not fool me kaique , it already is a pro!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀
I won't lie, my dream is to become a pro and win a lot of money, but that's becoming more difficult every day with so many developments in strategy.
These days I play primarily for enjoyment, but I believe I could turn professional.
I just play for fun. I try to improve as a player, and I want to win, but it also needs to be fun. If it's no longer fun, I'll just stop playing.
That happened to me in the past. Seven years ago, I was making more money playing midstakes FLHE for a couple of hours per day, than I was making at my day job. (Did that make me semi-pro?)
But after a few months of that, the grind got to me, and it stopped being fun. I quit overnight.
Took me seven years to get back (and start from the bottom again).

WHAT you did was right !!! the game has to be fun , if not why not play it.
My dream is became a verry good poker player
My dream is to be happily married and to become a better person.
I hope to secure a steady source of income
of course to become a pro, I would never play poker to be amateur and to play poker for fun always
I dream be a professional and win wsop or ept
Want to go to the world series of poker. To win at least one tournament!
Then 'Variance' is your friend.... my friend. (either that or consider learning how to play)
I think that majority of peoples that are here want to be an professional.
Our friend "wc2hell" is right I think the vast majority of us here want to be recognized for being one of the best in this game and enjoy several privileges they have in addition to their huge profits that this implies hehehe. 😀
I want that dream, but we have a long way to go checkered must have perseverance and discipline to achieve our goals ...
Luckily for all ... 😉
playing NL10 fullring on pokerstars.
i hope one day i can play on NL100 above and live with it.
First of all, pleasure! And if that pleasure also brings money, all the better.
If you play poker constantly it turns into work, and sometimes that work doesn't pay — you end up paying yourself 🙂
let remains a good hobby,not a job
For now I play poker for fun , but I'd like my job , I can not live from it and support my family , not only as so far only do some hard labor , and again the money never enough🙂
For me it's simply for enjoyment.
I'd love to earn a living from it, but I'm not skilled enough for that.
A lot of fun, but I used to cash a lot on PokerStars when it permitted US players to participate
I want to engage in playing poker professionally, but now it's only a hobby
I agree with the earlier comments. I play for enjoyment, but I aspire to become a professional poker player. I realize I probably won't enjoy the game if I do that.
I enjoy very much playing poker games (https://www.casino.us/poker/games/) . Either playing online or with friends , I have a lot of fun .As for money prizes , it's always a target to achieve .If it becomes in the future ,when my game gets improved , a source for extra income, why not?
As much as I wish I could make a living playing poker, but I'm not skilled enough and never will be!! :-(
I do enjoy playing, and I do reasonably well. I probably lose more than I win, but the occasional big score keeps me engaged!!
As for myself and my style, I'll quote on one of my favourite movie character:
"-Guys around here'll tell ya... you play for a living.
It's like any other job. You don't gamble. You grind it out.
Your goal is to win one big bet an hour, that's it.
Get your money in when you have the best of it, and protect it when you don't.
Don't give anything away.
That's how I've paid my way through half of law school.
A true grinder.
See, I learned how to win a little at a time. But finally, I've learned this...
If you're too careful, your whole life can become a ###ing grind..."
grow exited
Tell what your dream playing poker😀 😀 😀
Of course I play just for the hell of it, but with such passion it is possible to become also pro
I will become a professional poker player :3
play for fun,but if I become a Pro,so I played not bad🙂
ofc job,i have a big win in this awesome game
for now I play juste for fun,but I would like to be poker worker.....
The poker is a funny, but this game give us price if we win.
So do you start for fun or for money?
some time poker is a job!
It has to be both — if you don't enjoy yourself while playing, it can't be good work.
If you enjoy playing, it's easier to turn it into a job... in my country it COULD BE A VERY GOOD JOB
Definitely just for fun - can't afford to give up secure income for potential income.
For me, poker is a chance to enjoy a pleasant time.
For me Poker pleasant hobby
I play poker for enjoyment, since poker is my hobby — I'm a micro grinder 🙂
To me...poker is for fun and for the challenge. If it gets to where it feels like work, then I would wanna retire.
Gektor 610
For me, poker always will be fun, not play to be famous or earn fortunes, but who would not want to have to work poker
In my opinion poker fun job 🙂
For me, playing low buy-ins is just for fun; when I play bigger and put in more than 8 hours a day it becomes a job.
It depends on the player who plays the game. A lot of people play it with virtual money, that is equal to play with stones on the ground. These kind of people play the game only for fun.
The real poker is when you gave from your money and multiply or lost them, that doesnt metter sometimes.
Fun
Aways for fun xD
money will come as a result of a good game
to turn professional you should devote a great deal of time to poker, I play for fun at 80 % and 20 % for prizes
I think everyone who don't really love their jobs (and specially those who really HATE their jobs) deep inside really wants to say "*uck this *hit" and start playing poker for money
but I REALLY think it's really hard to achieve it, even if you're a gifted genius, sometimes it just strikes you so hard you want to quit, specially when you do everything right and lose because of someone else stupidity
it may be easier to win 50 dollars on poker in a couple of hours, but it's also easy to lose every single hand and start to think "why the real I'm really doing this wicked game?"
thinking about the psychological issues that it generates, it's really huge. many players start their careers like supernovas and quit after a couple of years due to variance and other issues alike
Poker is a job if you want to make money, but many people play just for fun — that’s why pros call them "fish".
Aways
Just for fun
play forn fun aucourse and for the litle money why not i love to play this game my head is up play hard take big suprice 🙂
I start to play poker for fun. Curently l em a student, when l finish my studies l will make decision, but l would like to be professioonal poker player. Poker is very interesting game on professional levels. Currently l play freerolls (https://www.casino.us/poker/best-freerolls/) for fun and some low buyin tournaments.
If you're born a fish, you won't turn into a shark. I've played poker for seven years and believe I've reached a professional level. For me, becoming a pro means entering the big tournaments and winning. But where do I get the money to do that?
Right now I’m playing just for fun, but...
In my country it’s really hard to find a decent job, and I want to become a skilled professional poker player and gain independence.
If you play occasionally, it's a vacation. If you play every day, it's difficult — it's work.
I like to play poker for fun but I dream of one day playing poker for a living. Being a microstakes player it's almost impossible to become a professional at the level but you have to start somewhere and that's where I am.
When I began playing poker I wanted to make fast money and I thought it was easy to learn poker quickly ...how wrong I was..I lost some money because I wasn't playing carefully , I was playing like a fish .😀
Now I have BRM and mostly I play for fun until I learn better .🙂
My dream is to learn as much as I can ,to become a better poker player with more skills in order to be able someday to have a standard income from poker (it doesn't matter how much:smile: )
He started playing poker only because I really like the card games.
But I notice that I was addictive and I'm getting better and better with time.
I think every player dreams of becoming professionals 🙂
As the saying goes, "bad soldier who does not want to become a general" 🙂
I don't play for fun. I play to win and build my BR as high as I can get it. Some people may no believe this, but there are pros at every level. I talked to one guy who done real good at 5nl and 10nl, and I asked him why didn't move up a level, and he told me that he won more money at those levels than 25nl or 50nl, or higher, because there were so many beginners there. So I considered him a pro at his level. For me, I don't target new players, or anyone else. I just play my game, and if a beginner is in the pot and calls with nothing, I don't mind taking there money. GL to you
I can not imagine poker with his work - it would be ideal promptness 🙂
I think people who like their work - this is the most happy people 🙂
Personally and in this moment of my life I poker as a fun, but this does not imply that they did not consider the game and do not try to improve. Today I am happy playing poker, later I will see if I can mix the happiness with the work and perhaps dedicate a little more to this that it is a passion
Hello, as I said in a message from previously, in this moment of my life play for fun but also treatment to improve step by step. I would like at some point to become a professional in the poker because I love the game and I am happy to play.

It is true that many people earn some money playing poker because they do not look very high levels , which exeplo been very good player playing Small tournaments buyns to 20 USS did a good bank roll , put my eye was bigger than my ability to examine whether or not I was able to raise my level and play higher levels out, what was supposed to be good became a nightmare because I reduced my bank roll by 80%. that's when I found out that we should grow too slowly for this crecimento be true.
I like to play poker for fun but I dream of one day playing poker for a living. Being a microstakes player it's almost impossible to become a professional at the level but you have to start somewhere and that's where I am.
It has a lot of faith and will, so Analiz their movements , of course, you can become a pro player and make money from it !!!!]
if you are borned a fish, you will not become a shark. I play poker seven years, and I believe that I have reached a professional level. to me to become a professional, I need to play in the big tournaments and to win. But where to get the money?
okay you come to be a professional, but do not agree when you say the fish was born will always be fish , I think many fish today may be the shark that will beat you . we are all subject to grow and evolve
When I began playing poker I wanted to make fast money and I thought it was easy to learn poker quickly ...how wrong I was..I lost some money because I wasn't playing carefully , I was playing like a fish .😀

has lot of patience , poker is good but also destructive. you are going the right way!!!
Hello, as I said in a message from previously, in this moment of my life play for fun but also treatment to improve step by step. I would like at some point to become a professional in the poker because I love the game and I am happy to play.
you are right, play for fun certainly is much better , and learn just makes us more responsible players
He started playing poker only because I really like the card games.
But I notice that I was addictive and I'm getting better and better with time.
I think every player dreams of becoming professionals 🙂
As the saying goes, "bad soldier who does not want to become a general" 🙂
True, We want A Place in the Sun, or a place at the final table , lol
Yep if we do good at 10nl, we may start believing we can do the same at higher levels, and build a big BR in a short time. Thank god I never thought that way. I done like I was told here. If I'm going to use good BRM, I had to start at 2nl because I only had $50 to play with. Then when I got to $100, I was told to try 5nl and see how I done. If I done good, stay there, if not, go back down. I've used that all the way, and now I'm at 10nl, and I'm winning pretty good, and those thoughts about going up has been on my mind awhile, so I did try it a little, It didn't take me long to see I'm still not ready for it, because it's like another world, just like it was with every level I've played. It's slow, but it sure beats losing my BR and having to go back to playing freerolls. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with playing freerolls to start a BR. Many players do and I say more power, and good luck to them. GL to you
My dream is to improve my skills enough to be able to compete at 200NL+ online and hold my own in bigger live games ($25/$50). I also want to be able to buy-in to the wsop (https://www.casino.us/poker/tournaments/wsop/) main event with profits from poker.
I am currently at 10NL slowly growing my skills and BR one day at a time. I believe I will one day achieve this goal.
I'm earning too little to call it a job; it's more likely the pay is just a pleasant bonus. 😉
I started for fun but now I want to win money 🙂
Hello ladies and gentlemen. rather I am right if you'll take yourself to the category of fans and so I would really like to become a professional poker
I think is right in saying that every poker player dreams to win the WSOP and I am no exception. at the Russian proverb: patience and a little effort. therefore wish you all the patience and applying to this effort then maybe your dreams will come true. I wish all Fartagh and suit
I Ruthenian and English not znayu.poetomu decided to use Google perevodchikom.tak here I can say with confidence translates Google is not always right
Well i think everyone at start is playing for fun, but if they keep winning and play good why to not became a proffessional 🙂
I think im a professional but truth is im playing for fun. The fun goes out the window, the second you go pro.
I play because I genuinely enjoy the feeling, but I study almost every day, so maybe someday I could become a pro.
I play poker for fun and earn money
I play casually for enjoyment, but my aspiration is to turn professional.
playing for money!
I don’t know how many people actually earn a living playing poker while supporting a family...
I find it astonishing. Maybe my knowledge of poker is limited, but it seems like everything ultimately comes down to luck.
Who believes that? 🙂
at first for pleasure.... over time I think that, of course, everyone wants to win several millions
I started playing for fun, then it turned into playing for money. I never play as a job. I will say this though, I have won way more money playing for the fun of the game than I have playing to win money if that makes any sense. Maybe it's less pressure when I play for fun. 🙂
Recently I made my account on Pokerstars and deposited $20 with the idea I would turn that $20 in a few hundred after some time playing.. Well I started out really well and made up to $80 from cash games over a few hours playing but then lost most of it just as fast.. So far im still a begginer, Im not the worst and nowhere near the best but I have been learning alot over the last few months and thats whats important. I personally wouldnt look at poker as a reliable source of income, but I enjoy the playing the game and definitely enjoy winning some money 🙂
Hello — for me, poker is both a hobby and a source of extra income for the foundations of Nome.
I’d like to obtain a second (or maybe third?) profession
but wants to become a professional but now not much poluchaetsya.no sovershenstvuyus..eto is a dream ....
I'm mostly doing it for enjoyment, though I wouldn't object if it developed into a reliable source of income!
As for me poker is a mixture of fun and job. its very interesting game and at the same time its an opportunity for relaxation and getting money
The game of poker is very interesting work at a fun and earn money at the same time very nice.
As long as I play for fun, but I think that will soon begin to conquer the microlimits
I started to play poker just for fun , but when I took the first money I thought it could be like a real job. In next few years, I only played poker and I earned a nice money, so I can say that it was my job. Later, I got a real job so now I play poker just for fun and extra money if I hit something good.
Many people earn poker, currently my poker fun but I do not rule out that I will earn it))
I play just for fun
I was more for fun, but winning is always nice 🙂 nice to know that from a couple of thousand people entered the prizes you 🙂 even if the pot $ 0.10 🙂
I play it just for enjoyment. If you’ve got the ability, you might try turning it into a career — it can give you a comfortable life if you’re truly excellent.
I play it for enjoyment, but perhaps after a while it could become my dream job? 🙂
I would like to make money from poker, but I'm not good at this game.
sure, poker’s more enjoyable when it isn’t your profession
It's fun when you're winning. But I still need the skills to consider it as a job. 😀
Both options for the money and for fun.🙂
If you can play consistently win and place of work .
fff
The best way to live with poker is to see as a hobby....its a bad hobby when you loose...but if you win ....you like it .Many times you need to pay attention because you may loose a lot of money ....so be serious
For me it's a profession. Life without poker was financially very difficult. It helps me a great deal.
Poker is enjoyable, but the river turns it into a roller-coaster ride. Wagering real money simply pushes you to exert more effort.
I wish poker were my profession, but up to now it's only a hobby.
“Why not both?” haha
poker as work is hard.
I think it should be complementary to our work.
Just in case you have a lot of money or be excellent player would see as a job. for now it's just for fun.
I play casually, but intend to earn a decent amount of money from it.
I play solely for enjoyment. If poker were my job it would become an obligation, the opposite of what I want.
I prefer to play casually and enjoy myself. I play free of pressure.
the poker is a job very funny 😀
You need understand the game and players to make as fun as possible. if you just play cards it gets boring. whats fun in poker you choose how you play it. you have big variants of games.
Right now it's ultragrinding, so a job. Seventh week with 0 days without poker... at least money is pouring in 😀
Mostly fun and to fill time.
And if I get lucky while playing for fun I can call it a job the next couple of days 🙂
From the very beginning, I used to play for the money, but then I started to enjoy the game and started to earn more money. Now I combine the pleasure of the game and also make money .
Right now I play for fun, but money will not be superfluous.
the fun begins
The fun begins, but with practice over time and the normal desire to enter tournaments, becoming a professional is a different story. Rs RS
first for me is for fun. I play more seriously when the price is big and dont play too crazy with AQ when is time to push. More passif then agressif in tournement.
That depend on who are you asking for. For me playing Poker is just for fun and I wont even get rich just playing it (I'm not an Pro). If your gonna as does who are Pro players and they only play poker all day all year then they can say its their job.
play for fun...........I like to improve in my game but I'm not good poker payer to pay the rent with it .....
improve and spend good time is fine for me 🙂
When I began playing, poker was just a casual way to meet friends and get a few laughs, but now it’s very serious — I even have as a second source of income ... so now I’m thinking of turning it into a fun job ...
I'm sure most people on this site would love to be a pro in poker, but I'm also sure most people on this site play for enjoyment. My take on it is make sure you are having fun first. if you aren't having fun you won't have the drive to constantly work at it and make yourself better. Even if you are making good money on the side with poker, it is another ball game entirely living off your earnings in poker. I personally would not want to be relying on my bank role for living expenses unless if I was bankrolling deep with a lot of money (1mil+). Even then, I would make sure I had a more stable source of income (like a nice healthy investment account paying safe returns)
I play for fun in frst place, love to play poker. In poker you never now what heppen always you must think what opponent has have,You
there is never a relaxation, you have thing a lot, much combination,But if you earn some money it is great 😀 🙂
Poker is enjoyable
I play casually, but I'm also focused on improving so I can supplement my income with poker winnings. Nothing would be better than turning a hobby into an additional source of earnings.
if i considered it as a job it wont be fun 🙁 ..... i enjoy playing poker.
Work
Whenever money is involved, it's work
If you want to enjoy yourself, you can play for free 🙂
I cannot be described poker as a job. That's a lot of risk for a gain, so i play only for fun.
Play just for fun and perhaps land the jackpot? Who can tell...
I'm the same. Yet I don't expect to win the jackpot.
Just for enjoyment.
So far , poker for me is something between fun and job.
Really hard question. I try to stay completely focused, but sometimes it feels like I’m just playing for fun... and I don’t like that.
I started playing poker for poker udovolstvich but began to bring me income))) I think in the future UTB my job)))
So far , poker for me is something between fun and job.
I aree whit you,we frst play for fun,but how time gone we have experiace and we start play for money.
All turnament have prize money and every goal is to win the tournament not so much for the money as for personal satisfaction.Frst goal is to get to the prize fund , the second to win the tournament you win I opponents.E There is not a important but a personal satisfaction that you are the best I think you won the biggest prize in eating the most money , and money is a job in itself
To teach someone to play well? Unfortunately, because I do not go
To teach someone to play well? Unfortunately, because I do not go
How i teach someone to play well,my father taught me when i have 9 year old.But im tell some i teach lot in forum, you must to read and ask.Don't exist stupid question trust me.
Fun, of course. But mostly its a game and its a hazardous game so keep and eye on your behavior while playing and after playing 🙂
I really want to win alot of money, BUT I am soooo hesitant to make deposits that I only play freerolls (https://www.casino.us/poker/best-freerolls/) to try to bankroll (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-bankroll-management/), unsuccessfully. Live too far from live poker, my favorite. Just don't trust the internet for financial transactions to overseas entities. Spend too much time on the online free and cheap games. Either need to legalize in my state or move closer to live games Would really like poker to be a modest income source.
Of course for the money, because the money is and have some fun)
A lil of both.. 😎
(https://www.casino.us/cardschat/attachments/negre-jpg.122889/)
The poker is a funny, but this game give us price if we win.
So do you start for fun or for money?
I think your job should be fun or at least somewhat entertaining. If you were looking for a new job would you pick something boring as career?
I believe it’s a combination of both, since the deverte can also turn into a service and raise your income.
I think online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/) is more fun than a job.
My first game I played for fun money. After I switched to real money (https://www.casino.us/poker/) because they thought I had asthma jolmegy. But I just thought I was going to do well, unfortunately, does not
😕
How i teach someone to play well,my father taught me when i have 9 year old.But im tell some i teach lot in forum, you must to read and ask.Don't exist stupid question trust me.
I'M HUNGARY IN ENGLISH AND I CAN NOT WHAT YOU writers rewrite of Google Translate if something unintelligible This is because.😕
😕
I'M HUNGARY IN ENGLISH AND I CAN NOT WHAT YOU writers rewrite of Google Translate if something unintelligible This is because.😕
Yes i know, becouse i don't know how some word i writes and my English is not good, and i must use gogle translation sometime.
Its like in pokerstars chat, you can speak only with cards, and russians make me wanna cant say it here.so poker,i love it,and sng,is a good way to win some money!
I play to enjoy myself, though I wouldn’t be upset if it happened to become a profession by chance.
I think it really needs to be both fun and serious to be a great player. You have to enjoy it to be a great player.
Not just good but great as of anything you do kinda needs to be that way.
for me now poker is job, winn little money, but i fiele gut
...
How right, for me, its 50% fun and 50% job... But in the future, i dream about 100%job. hehe
It's a really interesting topic; I'd suggest poker is a hobby for some people but as a profession for others. I don't play it only for enjoyment — I also play to earn some money.
For me, poker is purely recreational. I've never risked large sums, so making poker as a profession is out of the question.
Fun, but I'm trying to get better at the game to eventually consider it a sidejob, and maybe someday i can live off it. The dream.
Fun
Poker is a for fun game in my opinion. I don't know if it can be a job because there are too many emotional swings for it to be considered a job. There's no consistent income. but it sure is fun to play and win
I want to start playing for real money eventually, but only using funds I earn free from freerolls.
However, with PokerStars' recent changes to play-money, playing just for fun has become noticeably more difficult.
JOB!!!!!!!
I'm hoping it to be both someday. But more than likely when I can get to a state that it's legalized before I officially try and of course get a bankroll and some kinks worked out.
I'm not good enough. So, poker—it's just a fad.
For me, poker is enjoyable because I already have a job and cannot dedicate enough time to it — without sufficient time you can't achieve strong results (big winnings). That's why I play poker only for fun.
If you have self-discipline, substantial capital, and can dedicate ten hours a day to the game, count.poker is a job
at the moment its only hobby or fun, cause i cant earn enough money to live with them.
I play just for fun, yet in every match I'm part of I aim to win.
atm its a hobby, well more like an addiction, but I'm improving and would like to make it a job, that's probably a far dream tho 😀
It can be both fun and job. Poker is a game so it must be fun. If it is not fun you cannot enjoy it!
its fun for me, but poker is profissional job
for fun wright now but wish to poker be my hobby job
For me it's merely a way to pass time and a social activity, nothing overly aggressive.
fun but always try to compete you have to learn and except the tough loses and grind grind grind to becoming a winning dont matter how much poker knowgle u have if some one calls your pocket aa with 75 of dims and hits it is all luck from there
It all started as fun and now I want to play for a living, poker is a job
in my opinion only loosers can have respect to poker as a job
For me a pocker entertainment. As to start to earn on it I not so well play still. But I hope shortly to start to receive though small money from game.
question for those who have poker is a job. many turns you have to raise the money for a month?
Is poker the primary source of income?
I know many people earn a living from live poker, but given its inherently volatile nature I find it hard to grasp... How did you manage to accomplish that?
entertainment - is when a game on conditional counters,
work - a basic income of money,
poker (for many) - an additional income, or loss.
I start for the fun.. but now i play also for the money
gambling (https://www.casino.us/) delivers a strong adrenaline rush.
Playing poker is an enjoyable pastime. 🙂
fun and relaxing for me.. I love the thrill of the win and I hate the agony of defeat
I think poker is a basic earnings for professional players. For all other players, I think it can only be additional earnings or hobby.
you must spend one year developing your game before you can earn money from poker.
I'm still working on it at this point, slowly grinding up, learning, because there is no magic formula.
for me, poker is not primarily a money-making scheme, although that would be nice))) in poker I come out ahead))))) I still need to put a lot of work into my game !!!!
you have to work one year on your game to get money from poker.
I believe poker is a game for life. If your still ahead at the half way mark, then your going ok.
what could be better than playing a game like poker?
Those for whom poker is a job. Answer Have you earned a lot of playing poker?
my dream it poker - job , give me many cash 🙂
now it only fun for me
my dream it poker - job , give me many cash 🙂
now it only fun for me
Many, I think the same dream.🙂
I'd wager poker is more enjoyable when it's not someone's profession.
If you take on poker as a job your whole life will suffer, with no guaranteed results.
You will have to put in 12 hours a day, 7 days a week at playing and learning.
Your social life will be close to non existent.
If you take on poker as a serious hobby, it, like all hobbies, will create a platform on which you can build. You can learn how to keep pace with the game first off. I'm thinking 5 hours a day, 5 days a week might be to much, but that is not far from accurate (for me anyway).
As a hobby, there is no pressure on me showing much of a $$ gain. If I had a bigger steady income, I could even consider a net loss of $100 a month as 'entertainment'.
the chance to go professional exists; you only need a handful of strong performances and some good fortune
🙂
The truth do more for distraction and diversion, if I can earn some of the money finishes so be it, but I think I am far from saying it for work, I have so much fun playing online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/) because I think it's my only hobby, greetings to all and do not forget that it is always a good day to smile 🙂 win or lose ....
since im an entrepreneur myself, i'm considering poker as my part-time job though. I've learnt a lots from this game
I love poker and it helps me to earn some money. It is the best thing if you combine work and pleasure.
I want to earn only poker for a living, but now there is no way to play and increase your bankroll (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-bankroll-management/)
You can pursue any career and making a lot of money is certainly attractive, but it’s a difficult path and in every sport or profession some people succeed while others fail. Try it if you want, but more people do fail. Harsh reality
Poker is mostly fun for me, a hobby.
But really I want to start making money at poker.
it would be better for me if i start to make some money playing poker, but at the moment i just have fun .maybe after some experience i got i can make some profit from poker too.
Poker is fun for me, but which can by the way i have to earn it .... Most games when they start cold, you put a lot of time in the house.
Profitable hobby...for me at least.
Playing poker is sheer enjoyment for me — the perfect way to spend free time. 🙂
Poker is serious, fun then your money drops from you, then funny. Poker for me is a serious money tressury
Turning pro
What daily profit should I aim for playing $3/6 fixed-limit Hold'em heads-up, averaged across a year?
A pastime that brings in a little extra money
At first he played for fun, but recently decided to poyant all aspects and take the professional game, or at least an amateur)
For me, poker is both enjoyable and a source of income. You can’t play and win without having fun.
It varies: for some people it's a career, for others it's simply enjoyment. Your choice, HAHA
Poker must complement our work. just that about money and we're good at it or we do not mind losing our money.
for me it's purely for enjoyment. too old to attempt earning a living at it.
It may be fun and play.
Because already there are many teachers of poker... Accordingly have a job.
WELL, entertainment is the game.
You can say so. Poker - entertainment job...
Does it matter??? If I play for fun or if I play as a job I am still playing poker! What more could I ask for? I feel confident I could support myself if I were to choose poker as a job. I am thinking about trying to get to that point but if I don't make it I will still play for fun til the day I launch off this rock!!!😀😀
I believe poker can work, because only with this kind of approach to the game can you play and make a profit. You have to treat every hand seriously, continually analyze your play, and only after thousands of hours of diligent effort can you consistently earn a plus.
i would bet that poker is more fun when it is not someones job
Poker is enjoyable and even more so when it’s my profession. That’s when you’re doing something you love and making money. 🙂
fun and job 2 in 1 🙂
Well, I haven't managed to make a living from poker yet, so I play for fun.
I wouldn't play if there was no money involved, nor if I wouldn't think poker was fun to play. With no money involved I wouldn't waste so much time with a game, but if I didn't think it was fun I wouldn't start playing poker in the beginning. I think you need to have fun playing poker or else you should stop, why waste time on something when you don't like it? Its hard to play good when you do something you don't like, that's why I one of the most important aspects when playing poker is to enjoy it
For me, poker always will be fun!!!!!!!!!
i used to play for money/part-time job but then went busty bust bust years back. Now I just play for fun here or there to keep the shakes at bay.
I play poker because I enjoy it and for the potential money if it ends up being profitable.
if you play plus poker it may be work but if minus it is hobby
hi
I play both for fun and for money. I want to practice so I get better and better. It would be nice to win a larger sum one day because then I could have money
it is fun job, if you win 🙂
For my is job!
Is poker a job or a game?
at When I first started playing poker, it was pure pleasure for me because of the thrill, the adrenaline, and my interest in it. I was delighted to triumph over opponents! I love poker. But now it has become my preferred work. I spend several hours training, study the play, and I still haven’t figured out how poker turned into my job. And I love it! How do you feel about poker? Do you play poker?
at the beginning of poker it was my pleasure! because of the excitement, the adrenaline, and interest in it! I was happy to win a victory over the enemy! I love poker! But now for me it is a favorite job! I sit a few hours of training! Parses the flight! And I have not figured out how poker became my job! And I love it! And how do you feel about poker? that you have poker?
Poker is mainly game but there are many players on the world for which it's a job. At the beginning of my adventure with poker i was having fun mainly but as you're saying now i'm looking for a profit in it! 😀
I am trying to improve my game and once I am good enough I want to make it my one and only job so I can have time for my family. 🙂
It's a game, yet you can make a living from it 😀
Poker is the two things ie if we take it as a job at some time we are going to lose that is why it is called gambling (https://www.casino.us/) ie if I can get discipline to play and win money but should not consider a job because a long or You lose
I'm a pro 👍 I earn 1p an hour since Nov - upset I'm not bored looking at my 4yr old anymore ! It's a game that pays
I hope it becomes a job for me someday, but for now it’s just a hobby — hopefully I can play full-time in the future.
Hi friend, I think that if you have fun with something that you like to do, you should not consider it a job, because if you like your job, you will never see it as work, if not something that amuses you and likes to do.
Used to think that poker can earn. Now I see that the money at poker is more difficult. Now this hobby for me
For most poker players - it is certainly fun. Personally for me - it is also fun. For those who want to earn good money and spend a lot of time, stable profits from the game - it's more work.
I enjoy playing poker casually, but I only play in freerolls.
Its a game that many people become rich at, but also many people go bust and lose everything.
For me Poker is and has always been my entertainment... I win I lose and I don't take any of it too seriously... Of course like most I do like the challenge and the game is always changing it can have its ups and downs but over all I seem to play at least one to two games a day and have for years... Sometimes I cant get enough and other times I do get down and bored with it but still manage to play something whether it be a freeroll or a few sngs I seem to always play something.... I think to play a long tourney you have to have the time and the right mind set or it could become work if your always trying so hard and totally focused...
I believe that poker is a profession, same as chessplayer. As in any game, there are people for whom it's a hobby, there are amateurs and professionals.
If you make more money than from the job, the conclusion is clear.
I THINK THERE CAN BE TWO. TODAY WE PLAY RECREATIONAL POKER AND PROFESSIONAL POKER.
Sure — playing for enjoyment is ideal, but when circumstances turn it into work, that's just how life goes.
when you are good player then play as professional and contarry play for fun.
Depends on which goal you play. If you came back to play this game. If the goal is to make it work
Just play for fun at the beginning, then if your good enough go pro and win big in the bigger tourneys.
Hello, friends! I read your opinions! Thanks you!you motivate me positively!
My level still does not allow me to do my work! But I'm learning to play, I am now on day 3 - 4 hours I spend at the tables, and 1 hour in theory classes! I hope to raise their level high!
Poker for my entertainment, but want it passed in.
I don't know where you want to go.... I think you should follow someone else's career to learn more about the game and about being a poker pro...
When I made my first deposit I was already determined that I wanted to win money. I tried the play-money tables but they never clicked for me. The same goes for friends hanging out and just passing time; we’ve tried playing with no stakes, but it simply isn’t the same. I would say as for now it’s a job, but one I very much enjoy. Good luck on the felts!
my dream ..to improve and, hopefully, earn a living playing poker
G
everyone puts poker on a certain place in your life. for some it is work - a difficult and laborious. for others it is a game - an interesting and exciting. Some people combine it as you are. and still there is no exact dividing line poker as a kind of activity
Work is dull... Playing poker is entertaining; making it a task turns it into a drag... No thanks.
Poker is a game!!
I aim to turn a profit, but for me it's still merely a game.
For me, poker is a game, but I think that one day playing poker could become a job.
Until that day arrives I have to play many tournaments, read a number of poker books and, who knows, maybe one day I’ll say my job is playing poker 🙂
It really depends on the player.
For me it's almost a distraction game, practically a jejjeje task.
poker is one of the most funny things that i can do, and want to make it my job
poker for me 50/50
fun/job
For now, just good fun! I think the main goal of any fish to become a shark, then this game can be the main and the only "job". Of course, this requires a lot of time and learning but certainly isn't impossible.
Poker ought to be enjoyable — it's a game, after all, and you PLAY it!
Nobody said you can't earn money doing something you love. That said, it's not always glamorous.
I find it fun, but to turn poker into a real job you have to consistently win substantial amounts; it's risky to depend solely on playing poker for income.
fff
Hello. Poker is a game... you must set limits and not spend all your money there. It can be addictive, so you should watch how much you wager. Have fun at your games !
First you play for fun after you know the game and you get better and better you start playing for money eventualy or some kind of stake.....Time is money and poker is time!!!
I play just for fun. I withdraw money occasionally, but it always ends up back in poker.
I find the challenge enjoyable. I'd like to turn it into my livelihood, but it's too risky given my family responsibilities.
For me poker is fun because I'm an amateur in this area, but for some people it is their job.
As you've probably worked out, the path towards a career as a poker dealer (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-dealer/) is a varied one and things aren't any different when it comes to securing a job. If you were to talk to a selection of dealers at a casino, you would probably a selection of various different routes.
I job
I started for fun, but after a while I studied and noticed that it would be possible to earn some small sums and today I'm trying to win something.
Just for fun... that’s why I keep playing micro games constantly — the money stretches out longer.
Now I play for an entertainment because I still not really well know poker, but when I to learn it on normal level, I think that I will be able to earn money.
So far I have taken it as a hobby, it is very gratifying to receive certain sums of money sometimes. But I think if my bankroll (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-bankroll-management/) grows up enough, I would rather spend a lot more time playing Poker.
I don't consider it a career; it should be left to professionals as it's something I do for enjoyment because I'm passionate about it
I think that poker 4 90 percent of the people who play is for fun I think it is very hard to play poker at a professional level and to actually make any reasonable money consistently those who do are very talented and fortunate
For money[emoji52]
Only money)Yep only money)
I still see it as fun, maybe one day I will not turn pro poker
I play for fun, but if you can enjoy yourself and earn more money, I'd say a 60/40
It's very good to make money having fun this is for few
I started for fun, today I see it as a lucrative hobby, and I intend to profit from poker.
For now, it's just for fun, but I intend to make that my profession.
A bit of both!
I recall that when I began it was just for fun; I was using pretend money. Then I got excited with real money (https://www.casino.us/poker/), so I give 40% for fun and 60% for money.
For me, poker is more of a hobby than a source of income. If you want to make a living from poker, you need to play at higher stakes.
Most people who gamble on poker for cash, sadly, end up broke, so poker is a paid form of entertainment. The key in this pastime is to stay level-headed and avoid risking more than you can afford to lose.
To me, poker sits somewhere between a pastime, amusement, and a way to unwind.
I play just for enjoyment. It's far from being my career right now, but you can never tell what the future holds. Who can say?
Just for fun, but I found out I can actually win some money!
Poker is mainly about entertainment, but everyone hopes to qualify for a major tournament and have a deep run for a big score. Even if that happened, though, I'd still see it as more of a hobby than a full-time occupation
The poker is a funny, but this game give us price if we win.
So do you start for fun or for money?
fun and money .... 🙂
Poker is an enjoyable pastime, but I wonder: would it remain enjoyable if there were no enticing rewards?
I enjoy using my spare time to play, and earning money feels like a delight and a welcome extra; losing brings disappointment — these are the emotions that draw us to poker.
Good morning, everyone.
Whenever we ask a question related to poker, the answer will almost always be: it depends. So, let's analyze this question.
Is poker a profession or entertainment? It depends. For some people, it's entertainment; for others, it's a profession.
Since poker is one of the most played card games in the world, in many countries people play simply for fun. Many people work all week and, when they get home, they deposit $10 on a poker site (https://www.casino.us/poker/), or $50, depending on their financial situation, and just have fun. They play a cash game, a Spin & Go, or a tournament, but only for entertainment, without the intention of making money.
On the other hand, there is a small percentage of people who see poker as a profession. They study the game, analyze databases, study ranges, boards, use solvers, and constantly work on improving their technical skills. Their goal is to make a living from poker, treating the game as a job and aiming to make a consistent profit over the long term.
Especially in very wealthy countries. Germany, for example, is one of the richest countries in Europe, and I see many players from there. I don't know what it's like at the higher stakes, but at the lower stakes, my impression is that Germany has a lot of recreational players. Compared to other countries, I feel that the percentage of recreational players is higher.
Don't play to make money; play to make good decisions. The money is a consequence.
I play for enjoyment and hope to earn a little cash, yet I never put any money in, so getting wealthy is difficult. Still, it’s fun!
Fun, don't really make profit so unfortunately not an occupation or fortunately!
I don't know anyone who does it for cash or for affection; living costs are high, you need to make a living.
I began playing for enjoyment, but what retained my interest was the challenge of getting better rather than the cash itself. The tactics, mental game, and continual learning are what make poker so captivating. Naturally, winning is an excellent perk, and earning a profit is always the aim when taking it seriously, but if money is your sole incentive, the unavoidable losing stretches can be extremely disheartening. Liking the game while maintaining discipline is, to me, the ideal mix for long-term success.
Poker can be both fun and an occupation it all depends on your approach.
For some, it's a hobby and a way to relax. For others, it's a serious pursuit that requires discipline, study, bankroll (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-bankroll-management/) management, and emotional control.
No matter the goal, enjoying the game while making good decisions is what matters most.
To be honest, I believe many of us begin playing just for enjoyment, yet the prospect of winning cash certainly adds extra excitement. If it weren’t enjoyable, we wouldn’t continue after all those brutal bad beats 😁
I always play for love ♥️
It's obvious that, unlike amateurs, professionals in any field rely on their work for income. However, poker is a uniquely specific setting, so operating within it demands many particular nuances and subtleties.
I began playing primarily for enjoyment because I liked learning the game. Gradually I noticed that sound decisions and patience could also produce profit. Poker remains fun for me first and foremost, but making money is a terrific extra that motivates me to get better.
For me, playing poker is fun. It's a way to relax and unwind at the end of the day.
I think most people start playing poker for fun, curiosity, or because they enjoy the competition. The money is definitely part of the attraction, but if you only play for the money, the swings can make the game very frustrating. You have to enjoy the process, learning, and improving, because even great players can lose for long periods.
For me, the best mindset is to play because you love the game first, and see the money as a reward for making good decisions. When someone only focuses on winning money, they often put too much pressure on themselves and stop enjoying the game. Poker is at its best when you enjoy the challenge and the competition.
For fun
For me, poker is dual: it’s enjoyable because I’m passionate about the game, yet it’s also a profession because I treat it with the seriousness it warrants.
For me, poker is currently a mix of fun and a serious hobby. I enjoy the competitive spirit and the strategic depth of the game, but I also try to play responsibly and keep learning. It's amazing when a hobby can also bring some profit!
definitely got into it for the money at first, not gonna lie. but you quickly realize that if you don't actually enjoy the strategy and the ups and downs, you'll burn out fast. the extra cash is the main goal, but you need to like the game to survive the downswings.
Poker can be used both for fun and for a serious business that you use to earn a living.
I don't think it would be much fun to do it as an occupation. Side hustle maybe, if you are disciplined. But the stress involved would be too much for me!
I havnt taken poker as occupation Its just like passion also comes with extra income hence its strategical game and mathematics involved that part of game attracts me most
For me, poker is just for fun right now. I’m still learning the game, so I don’t think I’m good enough to call it a job yet. I like the excitement, making decisions, and sometimes winning a big pot.
But honestly, if I could make money from something I enjoy, why not?
In the beginning, as a teenager, I started playing poker for fun with friends. Nowadays as a source of income, the game is still fun but I play seriously, always looking for a good prize.
Right now it's still for fun, and I hope it stays that way, living on poker seems to me to be a bit stressful
O pôquer é divertido, mas este jogo nos dá um prêmio se ganharmos.
Então, você começa por diversão ou por dinheiro?
Today is fun, but I want to become professional soon
I play for money, but at the same time, I get great entertainment out of it.
For me, poker is a hobby and I enjoy the game. But poker can be turned into a profession.
Poker is amusing, but this game awards money if you win.
So do you play for enjoyment or for profit?
I have never made a deposit. I believe if you can’t build a bankroll (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-bankroll-management/) from freerolls (https://www.casino.us/poker/best-freerolls/) stick to freerolls or play for fun money for your own benefit. I play for enjoyment with real money (https://www.casino.us/poker/). The day I stop finding it fun I’ll quit, though that probably won’t happen.
Just for amusement; if I were to invest enough time to make it a full-time job, I'd have to contend with so many considerations that I couldn't fully enjoy it.
For me its both, but at the moment I'm so micro stake that I cannot make decent money out of it even if I were world class. But my philosophy is I need to build a Bankroll from close to nothing, as it will already prove that I have at least some kind of understanding of the game and ability to make money.
Undoubtedly, it’s a blend of both and of feelings that one needs to know how to handle.
