I have always played online and to be honest, I can't complain about the returns and results.
But I'm in a good emotional, financial and knowledgeable time to go play poker in a casino. I have to face such a challenge and live the experience.
What do you prefer?
How was your first time at the casino?

Live games feel far more enjoyable for interaction, reading opponents, and the overall atmosphere at the table, including those small rituals. Online, however, is far more convenient, and I can play hands (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-hands/) whenever I like. The issue is that my mindset shifts with the venue. In person, I play more tightly and concentrate better. Online, I tend to click faster and sometimes destroy my stacks in ways I wouldn’t do face-to-face.

I mostly prefer online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/). After getting used to multi-tabling, live poker feels a bit slow and sometimes boring for me. Online fits my rhythm better, more hands, more focus, and better use of time. Live is fun occasionally, but online is my main game.

Live games feel a lot more enjoyable for interaction, reading people, and the atmosphere at the table, even down to those small rituals. Online play is far more convenient, though, and I can jump into hands whenever I want. The issue is I can tell my mindset shifts based on the venue. In live play I tighten up and concentrate more. Online I’m quicker to push buttons and occasionally burn my stacks in spots I wouldn’t in person.
Live poker naturally enforces better habits: you move slower, act with more intention, and the social dynamics keep you honest. Online removes most of that, so it’s much simpler to slide into autopilot and click without fully thinking.
Many top players effectively maintain two different poker “modes”: a disciplined live mode and a trigger-happy online mode. The gap isn’t purely tactical, it’s about the surroundings.

If you have bills to pay, like most of us, you need a job to pay them. So that decreases the time you can spend to go in a casino to play poker. Online, you don't have to physically go to the casino and you can play from the comfort of your own home. It's just easier and more comfortable. But I'm just a recreational player. I imagine there are a lot of professional players that go to the casino frequently

Live, when we were young we played in private homes, it was a lot of fun, because we looked at each other's faces, we joked about the games, and we regretted when we got lost. On the other hand, it's very quiet online, you just have to be patient, when the time comes you win. For me both ways are good.

I've played in person a few times, and I didn't find it all that great, you know? Having to go out, pay for gas, sometimes wait to get a seat, and deal with slower hands — to me those are many downsides. Still, going occasionally isn't bad; it's an enjoyable experience. If you can read facial expressions, that can be an advantage, but I can't, so I prefer playing online.

I like both, but for different reasons.
Online poker is tough to beat for volume and convenience — you can run through more hands, study situations, and organize your time more efficiently. It’s also excellent for sharpening fundamentals and maintaining discipline.
Live poker, on the other hand, offers a totally different experience. The setting, physical tells (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-tells/), table talk, and tempo introduce another strategic dimension. I tend to be more focused and patient in live games, while online it’s easier to drift into autopilot if I’m not careful.
If forced to pick, I’d choose online for learning and consistency, and live for enjoyment and distinct challenges. Ideally, combining both keeps the game interesting.

I personally prefer online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/). I’ve never played live poker in a big casino or a live cash game, apart from small home games with friends. Online poker feels much more comfortable for me, since I can focus only on playing well without external distractions, and I also like being able to play multiple tables.
That said, I think live poker in a major tournament must be a unique and unforgettable experience. Even if I prefer online poker right now, playing a big live event is something I’d definitely like to experience in the future.

Previously I used to play live roughly once a week for very low stakes — about $5 buy-ins. It was enjoyable and focused more on the experience than the winnings. Then the card house shut down, and after that I switched to playing exclusively online. The nearest casino is about an hour away, so regular live sessions aren’t practical, and now I only play online.

I've only played live, 4 or 5 times; however, I prefer it. I played at the wsop (https://www.casino.us/poker/tournaments/wsop/) in 2024 and had a good time, cashed in one event and played about 6, so no big wins, but the atmosphere is good, and most of the players at my tables were generally nice.
Of course, there were a couple of "odd" players, especially a lady who wore dark sunglasses and was prone to studying people and staring at them before playing her hand. She was a YouTuber and gave me her online account address. I lost it, but we did have a meal, and discussed her more than myself, interesting lady. Surprising the people you meet at live events, some honest or not, I think overall, are more trustworthy as you can judge them and not rely on their posts/ messages.

Seeing stacks in BB, tagging players, taking notes, and multitabling makes it very efficient for grinding and studying.

Online also allows for more hands per hour, which helps improve skills faster. You get to practice reading patterns, calculating odds (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/odds/), and making decisions under pressure without waiting for the slow pace of a live table.
That said, live poker has its own appeal with the social interaction and the “physical” feel of chips and tells, but for learning, volume, and flexibility, online is my go-to.

Poker can be played both online and live, and each format has its own advantages.
Online poker is fast and convenient. You can play multiple tables at once and find games at any time of the day.
Live poker, however, offers the opportunity to read physical tells and interact with other players. The atmosphere is also very different from playing behind a screen.
Some players are much stronger online, while others perform better in live games.
Which format do you prefer: online poker or live poker?

The ability to read physical "tells" at a casino table seems to have lost ground to the mastery of ranges, mathematics, and statistics (HUDs) in online gaming. An online champion doesn't always triumph live, and vice versa, although I have seen cases 😁

Online Poker – Pros:
Faster gameplay and more hands per hour
Ability to multitask and play multiple tables
Easy to track stats, take notes, and review hands
Online Poker – Cons:
Games are usually tougher with stronger regulars
No physical reads on opponents
Easier to tilt due to fast pace
Live Poker – Pros:
Softer fields in many games
Ability to observe physical tells and table dynamics
Live Poker – Cons:
Much slower gameplay
Limited tables and schedules compared to online.

I play better live. For me, at least, the main advantage of playing in person is that it's simply more fun. Much more fun. There's a human and social element to it. You're not playing against some faceless, soulless internet thing, which might even be a bot, for all you know: you're playing against your friend. There's an element of communication and human interaction that significantly enhances the experience.

Me, myself I never played offline, so I cannot really compare, but from my poin of view, when you are at home and cozy, it's really comfortable, instead of driving somewhere, registering there, being dependant on their breaks, the noises there. ANd in the end, you can win the same amount of money.
But maybe if I would go to an offline tourney, I would like it, too. Those two are different expereiences, and the more I think about it, maybe it is not really possible to compare them directly against each other, because they have their own pros and contras. Maybe it even depends on the type of person one is. Some people like being inside the society, inside the rush. Others prefer silence. Others again don't care, they are just playing their game and don't put too much thought in it, yes, maybe those are the best types. Being able to adjust in any circumstances and make the best of the situation, instead of thinking: I will always only play online, because it suits me more; or: I will always play offline only, because it suits me more; that seems kind of like restricting yourself to one habit.

Honestly, go for it. That first live casino experience is something you never forget.
I personally prefer live poker over online, and the reason is exactly what you're about to discover — the people.
Online is convenient, sure. You can play from your couch, multi-table, use stats. But there's something fundamentally missing. You have no idea who is sitting across from you. Is he bluffing (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/bluffing/)? Is he nervous? Is he confident or just reckless? Online you're basically guessing based on betting patterns alone.
Live poker is a completely different game. You can see the person. You notice when someone's hands are shaking slightly when they bet. You notice when someone avoids eye contact. You notice the difference between a confident bet and a nervous one. That human element changes everything.
My first time in a casino I was honestly intimidated. Everyone looked like they knew exactly what they were doing and I felt like I had "tourist" written on my forehead. But within an hour I realized something — most people at the table are just as uncertain as you are. They just hide it better.
The other thing nobody tells you about live poker is how much slower it is. Online you're used to seeing 60-80 hands per hour. Live you'll see maybe 25-30. At first it feels frustrating. Then you realize it gives you so much more time to think, observe and read the table.

What you like more online or at a casino playing poker
I play on 888 but there are Sooo many applications that you can play on. Some of them are based in other countries tho... I suggest playing in regional sites. That way you're only playing with certain players. Which tends to be more fishy. Stay away from big names like gg,88,stars,acr,coin,gold. Unless you wanna get killed by grinders and pros.
I would only go there for the deals and freerolls (https://www.casino.us/poker/best-freerolls/). I would only deposit in regional sites.
Whoops I didn't read the actual question lmao.
Ived never played for real. Only online. Live poker is always going to be much better than online. Because you can actually know the other person across from you. In online you could be playing with anyone. That you might not want to play with. Because of reasons. Unless obviously playing in a casino. Then at that point you might as well just play online.
So basically I prefer home games compared to randoms. Be it either online or live. They're always better. Playing with people you trust is waaay better than giving money to anybody.

Live poker has more expenses such as getting there and accommodation if over multiple days. But I preferred the atmosphere over online play. Bu then there is angling and got stung in an expensive tournament with a player concealing their cards. Software does not do this although online people can use software to cheat so swings and roundabouts. I think I found online easier than playing an online tournament with 6,000-7,000 players or more.

There's something special about live poker that you can't experience behind a screen: the atmosphere, the chips, the conversations at the table and the chance to observe your rivals face to face.
Personally, I like both modalities. Online allows you to play with more hands (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-hands/), learn faster and make better use of your time. However, the casino offers a unique experience and a different challenge, as reading players and emotional control take on much more importance.
My advice is to take advantage of this good moment you are living in and dare to try it. Beyond the economic result, the experience will surely leave you with very valuable memories and lessons. Best of luck on your first adventure at the live tables!

For me, online is where I sharpen my skills, but live is where I get the most enjoyment. There’s nothing like dragging a big pot across the felt in person, it’s a rush that online poker just can’t replicate.

If you had to choose only one, would you play live poker or online poker?
Live poker offers physical tells, table talk, and a great social atmosphere, while online poker lets you play more hands, multiple tables, and is much more convenient.

I'm used to playing online poker, but I also enjoy live poker. I get more of a thrill playing at real poker tables than sitting at my computer or on my phone. 😏

I definitely prefer online poker. It is much more convenient because you can play anytime from the comfort of your home, and you can easily get a lot more hands per hour. Live poker has its own charm, but for building a bankroll (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-bankroll-management/) and consistency, online is much better for me.

I prefer online poker because it’s easier to play regularly and there are so many game options.
Live poker has its own atmosphere though, especially when you can read people at the table.
For learning and volume, I’d still choose online. ♠️

I have always played online and to be honest, I can't complain about the returns and results.
But I'm in a good emotional, financial and knowledgeable time to go play poker in a casino. I have to face such a challenge and live the experience.
What do you prefer?
How was your first time at the casino?
in live poker i have less patience and i play too fast i think because i dont like waiting when i know already i dont want to bluff (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/bluffing/) or dont want to play the hand after flop for example..
in online poker , i roll a sigarett , drink some , maybe think about a bluff on pozition , and i know better what range players are in some situations shortly i can read better online .

Off line poker I only played at home with friends, and I find it better to play online, more comfortable

It would be fun online, because it's another environment, in my case I'm only playing online,

It’s preferable to play online poker — you don’t have to go anywhere; if you have some free time, just sit down and play.

I’d probably choose online poker most of the time. It’s just more convenient, and I can play whenever I have some free time without having to travel anywhere. I do enjoy live poker though, especially the social side and being able to actually see the players at the table. For me, online is better for regular play, while live is more fun when I want a different experience .Online poker is all about utilizing time to its best because multiple tables can be played simultaneously but live poker vibe is next level

I’d choose online poker if I had to pick just one. The convenience, game selection and ability to play more hands make it hard to beat, although live poker definitely has a better social atmosphere.

Live Poker as the in-person experience offers a richer blend of strategy, presence, and human nuance. I guess is far much funny

I agree, online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/) can be a great way to learn, especially when you treat every session as a chance to improve rather than just focusing on winning. There are so many different strategies and situations to study, and playing against different styles of opponents really helps you understand the game. Reviewing hands (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-hands/) afterward is probably one of the best ways to spot mistakes and learn what you could have done differently.

I recommend starting with online poker before moving to live games, because online play will teach you a fundamentally sound strategy faster.

Online it's good that you can play several tournaments, live, just one, but the experience is also really cool
