And so today marks the end of the wsop (https://www.casino.us/poker/tournaments/wsop/) 2026 coverage for Canadians. How lame! For those watching the events for the first time this year, I have to say the coverage was far better when it was on PokerGO. Hearing tonight that there will be no coverage going forward for Canadians was the last straw. How lame can you get?

And so today marks the end of WSOP 2026 coverage for Canadians. How disappointing! For those watching the events for the first time this year, I’ll say the coverage was far better when it aired on PokerGO. Hearing tonight that Canadians will no longer have coverage was the final straw. How much worse can it get?

What’s the reason for this decision? Do you know? Is it affecting all of Canada?

Odd decision. Could this be related to broadcast fees?

That’s really dumb of them. Unfortunately I won’t be able to watch the main event because I don’t have ESPN. I wish they would put it on PokerGO after the series so I could watch. I’ll be cancelling soon since there’s nothing new worth paying for.

YouTube carries some coverage. I’ve viewed a few tournaments there when I had spare time.

Youtube has some coverage. I have watched the odd tournaments on there when I have time available.

Canada belongs to New Zealand now?

So they actually aired Day 1A on YouTube (once more). Ali had said the day before that this would be the last time on YouTube and that future shows would be exclusive to ESPN+.

Really nice to have 'The Night Shift' return today — Ali and Nick remain, in my view, the best commentary duo.

So they did stream Day 1A on YouTube (again). Ali had said the day before that this would be the final YouTube upload and that future episodes would be exclusive to ESPN+.

I hope that's not the case, but today's episode is currently live:

They're back!!!

And now they're gone again 🙁

I couldn't believe it today when I was suddenly unable to watch the WSOP Main Event. I spent a couple of hours this afternoon looking for it. I eventually found someone streaming it on Twitch.

maletastyle is the name they're using there.

They streamed for roughly 20 minutes today, but then they stopped and the stream was deleted. Not sure what occurred.

maletastyle Twitch stream was taken offline 🙁

There’s an alternate stream, but the host is providing commentary in Spanish and has muted the ‘Night Shift’ commentators. You can still view the table and the cards, though (better than nothing).

Jeff Platt wrote on X that a Google issue is preventing the YouTube broadcast. He said it might be live tomorrow.

This seems absurd. Can you imagine this happening for any other sport or major event?

Yeah, that’s pretty disappointing. Poker ought to be easier to follow, not more difficult. Many fans anticipate the Main Event each year, so restricting coverage for Canadians is a frustrating decision. Hopefully they resolve the rights issues before next year’s WSOP.

That’s a pity — I’ve truly appreciated the YouTube coverage.
