These are perfect, they provide insightful information need, and its a full range of terms! Makes it easy to put in the Glossary

I am also excited about Tap, we don't want the Glossary to be confusing or wrong, the Glossary is hopefully from the members for the members! There is a group of us that curate the Glossary, if it's confusing to me or I don't understand it, then (hopefully) I'm not alone and we should take a closer look at a term.

Discourse doesn't bother me, if I'm wrong explain it to me please, I don't know everything, but I can try!

I think this might be ambiguous, Tap is typically associated with 'Tap out' or 'Tapped' meaning quit, or all out of Funds.

I think this could be ambiguous; Tap is usually linked to "Tap out" or "Tapped" meaning to quit, or being completely out of funds.

Tap

Old poker jargon. To bet "All-In" or wager all the chips or money before you.

usage: With the nuts, Livingston tapped.

I suspect the usage of "tap" likely came from what you mentioned about being "all out of funds." I checked the term in the glossaries of a couple of older poker books and they defined it like this:

The Complete Guide to Winning Poker by Albert Morehead (1967):

Tap:

  1. rap on the table to indicate a pass or waiver of the cut,

  2. bet the entire amount of chips in front of oneself, or

  3. make a bet that forces another player to bet all his chips, or fold.

Super System by Doyle Brunson (1978):

Tap:

To go all-in

Tap City:

A slang expression meaning that a player went completely broke, i.e., he went to Tap-City

Tap Out or Tapped Out:

See Tap City

Because the term is rarely used today, I think it's reasonable to omit it. Keep up the good work!

I agree it isn’t used this way today; I appreciate that you provided sources, that’s really helpful!

That said, I think we should include it and reference all three definitions!

Ego Player

A player who is more focused on proving that he is the best and/or most knowledgeable player at the table, over and above actually winning hands and money

[Heard this one a couple of times recently while listening to poker podcasts / commentaries, had not encountered it before; not sure how common it is]

BBA stands for Big Blind Ante

Jaxen used “BBA” in a post. It wasn’t listed in your Glossary, so I asked ChatGPT

His mention of BBA was in reference to ‘Bitch Biting Asshole’

To me this doesn’t meet the minimum usage to include it. It shouldn't be a supplement to someone not articulating clearly,

I'm not the only one to currate the list and if you can make a compelling argument or argument of populum I'd cave and add it.

BBA => Big Blind Ante

Jaxen mentioned “BBA” in a post. But I couldn’t find it in your Glossary. I had to ask ChatGPT

BBA (or BB ante) is a term that is used widely on PCF. The reply from @Jaxen (https://www.pokerchipforum.com/members/21883/) I mentioned in my suggestion is => “It has per player antes (I dislike BBA for reason's I've explained)” => Live tournament with smaller blinds? (Jaxen's Reply) (https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/live-tournament-with-smaller-blinds.145536/post-2959683)

Here are a few other threads where BBA is used (there are plenty of others):

BBA -> UTG ante; "stack surrender" conditions (https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/bba-utg-ante-stack-surrender-conditions.139904/)

Big Blind Ante (https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/big-blind-ante.81454/)

Please reconsider my recommendation to add BBA (or BB ante) term to the glossary. The definition could be something like the following:

BBA => Big Blind Ante

Instead of every player putting in an individual ante, the big blind player posts the ante for the entire table.

For example, in a $1/$2 game with a $2 big-blind ante:

Small blind: $1

Big blind: $2

Big blind ante: $2

Total pot before action: $5

This is common in tournaments and some cash games because it speeds up play.
