Do we have permission of PCF to post Craigslist links?

Selling a homemade poker table. I built it about 5 years ago and played on it frequently, though I haven’t had a game in three years since moving to a new home. There is probably about $300 worth of materials in the table, even if it were scrapped. Constructed from 3/4" plywood, high-density foam, faux leather, poker felt, and rubber matting. Cards slide very smoothly and the table offers the right amount of give under the chips. Each seat at the table has a cup holder that represents one of the all-time greats in the four major sports (NFL, NBA, MLB).

NFL: John Elway, Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders

MLB: Ken Griffey Jr., Cal Ripken Jr., Nolan Ryan

NBA: Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson

NHL: Wayne Gretzky

The table weighs approximately 100 lbs and needs to be placed on another surface (it does not include legs). Dimensions are 6' long x 4' wide x 6" thick (including foam rails). Price reduced due to recent cat damage (see pictures) and a new wife. You could remove the foam rails the cat damaged, but they still function and feel fine for play. The underside is unfinished exposed wood, which isn’t visible while using the table. I included photos of the issues so you’re aware before contacting me. You’ll probably need a truck to transport it; I’ll help with loading. It would still make a great table for a college room, bachelor pad, or game room, especially for a sports fan. I hope it gets used a lot and that you have many fun games.

Cards slide very nicely and the table has the perfect amount of give under the chips. Each place at the table has a cup holder that represents one of the all-time greatest players in the four major sports (NFL, NBA, MLB).

NFL: John Elway, Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders

MLB: Ken Griffey Jr., Cal Ripken Jr., Nolan Ryan

NBA: Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson

Weighs approximately 100lbs and you would need a place to set it (on top of a table) because it doesn't have legs. Measures 6' long x 4' wide x 6" thick (including foam rails). Price lowered because of recent cat attacks (see pictured) and a new wife. Could potentially just remove the foam rails that the cat attacked, but they still function and feel good while playing. The underside of the table is unfinished and just exposed wood, but you don't see it while playing. I put images of the problems I found so you'll be aware of these issues before contacting me. Would probably need a truck to haul, but I will help load it for you. Would still be a great table for a college group or bachelor pad or game room, especially for a sports fan. Really hope it ends up being used a lot and you have a lot of fun playing.

  2. Never marry a man that would build this. He may want to build a crib someday.

  3. Putting a number in a hole, and setting a beer on it is not a tribute... and Sanders can hold a ball better than those cup holders can hold a beer.

  4. On the positive side, he gave the chips 4 reasonable chances to run away if they ever hit that table.

I truly hate to let this go. It is a table that was used in poker league for tournament play. it comes wit drink holders that can be slid under the arms of the table so to be spill proof. I also have chips if you want. This table needs to be reupholstered due to stains but after that you will have a table that will be the envy of any of your poker playing friends. seats ten players and a dealer and includes 11 folding chairs. (chairs do not match

Poker Table - $125

For sale is a homemade heavy-duty poker table. The playing surface is covered with quality poker table fabric so cards slide easily. It features a stained wood surround with built-in drink holders. The surround edge is a padded rail for comfort. The underside of the rail is lighted to illuminate the playing area. The legs fold for convenient storage. I have over $300 in parts alone, not counting labor to build it. I am moving and don't have space for it. Extremely heavy-duty and built to last. Contact via Craigslist. Thanks for looking.

Round poker/card table, 5 ft in diameter, felt playing area 4 ft. In diameter, accommodates 8 players, height to bottom of table 25inches.

Just... wow.

Even the table leg placement. one player has to straddle a leg, while the player to his right gets to bang his knee all day.

LOL...I wonder what the main part of that table was used for originally. I mean judging by the expert craftsmanship shown on the felt and the use of 2x4s as legs, I'm guessing they didn't "build" the main part.

I need to build something like this — it’s freaking AWESOME. You rest your arms on the table while straddling the cup holder and add a straw to your drink, so there’s no reason to leave the table..............OR you can set a plate of food to the right of the cup holder.......OR....

OK, bad design. I’ll just make mine standard......:(

It's not often you find a 10 player table accompanied by only 8 matching chairs.

For $800, it could be worth checking out if you're in the Minneapolis area, just to determine whether those are genuine Gasser chairs or merely copies.

Perhaps that's merely a protective suede cover for the table — a cover with cupholders, for the committed drinker.

Selling a homemade poker table. I built it about 5 years ago and used it frequently, but I haven't hosted a game in three years since moving to a new home. There's probably about $300 worth of materials in the table, even if it were simply scrapped. Constructed from 3/4" plywood, high-density foam, faux leather, poker felt, and rubber matting. Cards slide very smoothly and the table offers the right amount of give under the chips. Each seating position at the table includes a cup holder that honors one of the all-time greats from the four major sports (NFL, NBA, MLB).

NFL: John Elway, Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders

MLB: Ken Griffey Jr., Cal Ripken Jr., Nolan Ryan

NBA: Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson

NHL: Wayne Gretzky

It weighs approximately 100 lbs and needs to be placed on top of a separate table since it has no legs. Dimensions are 6' long x 4' wide x 6" thick (including the foam rails). Price reduced due to recent cat damage (see photos) and a new spouse. You could remove the foam rails that the cat chewed, though they still function and feel fine for play. The underside is unfinished exposed wood, which isn't visible during play. I included pictures of the issues I discovered so you'll know about them before contacting me. You'll probably need a truck to transport it; I will help with loading. It would still make a great table for a college house, bachelor pad, or game room, especially for a sports fan. I really hope it gets used often and you have a lot of fun playing.

I was considering building a table...this thread has scarred the sit out of me...I think I'll sell my table saw and buy a table.

You're already ahead of the game on several counts:

  1. You're considering the table build. I can guarantee the majority of these tables skipped that step completely (except the bizarre Rorschach blob thing, which was inexplicably well planned to look that way...). Just continue that thread of planning and thoughtful research and you'll be fine. Lean on the numerous experienced builders and shared information both here and elsewhere.

  2. You have a table saw, which speaks to having the right tools to make the job possible. For table building, it is all about the router though. Making due with hand saws and pliers is leads to some of the results in this thread too.

Holy crap, that is a huge amount of figured maple. It doesn’t seem like that slab should have been turned into a table. "Table is slightly heavy and sturdy but not sturdy enough for heavy objects to be placed on for long periods of time." The router work on the cards is pretty poor and on the "center dish" it’s awful. They could have made far better use of that slab by cutting it down into sensible pieces.

My decks all have 2 aces of each suit, though I usually keep one of each suit tucked safely up my sleeve...

Being that my first thought was "It would make a fair coffee table for a man cave that needs a coffee table. Then I read the bit about it not holding weight. Then I looked closer at the legs that are tied together with twisted manila rope, and realised that was the only thing holding the legs together - i.e. kick a leg, and the table comes down.

Add to that that it would also make an awful coffee table. No flat edge to put parallel to a couch, the "tray" that would make the center somewhat unusable, and the poor quality of the wood burning. Yep, this tables best feature is it's longevity as a yule log.

Ha — everyone gets a personal section. There's space for a PlayStation, an ashtray, a magazine and a dinner plate. The only downside of all that 'leg room' is you have to fling your cards and chips toward the center playing surface. If they don't reach it, or slide off the other side because it's NOT FRICKEN felt... too bad.

I like the idea of an air hockey table. If you can make it so your legs didn't bang into the table while seated. Use 2 tables at the basis for 1 large oval. Pad the section directly in front of each player for ease of chip handling, but let the center of the table "inflate" with the Air Hockey fans. Pin-hole the speed cloth, and you have a table with a nearly zero-friction card glide.

If only I had the money to make crazy ideas come to life...

Alright, let’s see how much absurdity we can spot:

Cloth fashioned from New Orleans Saints pajamas

Formica racetrack

Baffling segment of cloth racetrack

Only a single "rail" padded

Rail appears to be covered with several black kitchen towels or similar

Ridiculous playing surface elevation

Overly large dealer cutout

Impractically oversized

Two cupholders embedded in the playing surface for no apparent reason

Offensive use of flooring materials (thanks Tommy!)

$200 lollollol

Hot NutsShark105 posts
Posted Apr 24, 2015, 3:20 AM#179

I like what appears to be an unpadded rail that is only for a 1/3 of the table.

Also enjoying the 2 cutouts in the playing surface for a couple of the cupholders. Whoever sits in those seats gets a built-in half koozie for their beer.

Did someone properly design that table, or was it just assembled after knocking back a fifth?

I agree this one has been floated around before, But let's take a closer look:

Wood paneling

Grey industrial carpeting

Photo of child in a picture frame that has more going on than the picture.

1 foot away a photo of the same child on a coffee mug. I'm not opposed to a mug with your child's photo, but displaying the mug?

Another foot and a half and you have some sort of ceramic sculpture. Don't know what it it, but I can assure you it's ugly.

Windowsill circa 1970.

Couch or chair (barely in shot) covered with an afghan. I assume it has a design of the daughter on it.

Window covered with contact paper... instead of curtains.

Spooge everywhere, or on the camera lens. Either way, they looked, then said "Yep, this pic is good".

Really, there is nothing coming out of this house trailer that is going to be of value.

Custom made poker table, UT colors with continuous vinyl rail. Lightly used with some damage to the rail from recent move. Made from dining table bought from Rooms To Go. Wooden legs not show in photos but are included. Burnt Orange Felt with heavy vinyl protection cover.

Reused dining table explains the weird as shit corners. Unfortunately there seem to be legs. The saw horses really helped the fugliness case. The fringe is much easier to seen in this picture. Really puts it over the top.

One of my favorites about Craigslist is how they often try to make junk sound more marketable.

Vegas Casino - They have different standards than, say, all the professional casinos

Casino Quality - Not at that thickness with those thin legs.

Tournament - You obviously can't play cash games on this kind of table.

Custom made - we could tell that from the pictures. Could have also said "built by an amateur"

Does not include cards and chips - The cards were probably the best part of the listing. It's reassuring that he's unwilling to part with his dice chips, since that means he'll never be on this board getting mocked.

A beauty in the Balmer/DC area -- a steal at $30

Huge poker table, seats 5 plus the dealer (or more, just has chip collectors for 5). Perfect for a man cave or anyone wanting to get the guys together for a game. Cupholders and a good height for most chairs.

$30 OBO

The felt is in good shape, no issues with the top (sturdy, good material) However, as shown in the pictures, one side of the legs has a tear in the wood. The table is still sturdy and all of the legs work, but the two legs on one side are just separated.

Also, missing one of the chip holders (see picture) but could easily fill in with tape/wood/etc.

Originally bought from Sports Authority for $120.

"I am selling an extremely nice custom built poker table with 8 chairs. The Poker table seats up to 10 people, however I only have 8 chairs. This is not a poker table you throw out in the garage.. this is a show piece and a very expensive piece of furniture. Just to give you an idea of the chairs you can Google Hathaway Games Kingston gas Poker chair with Walnut wood. The chairs alone were $3,000,(for all 8) JUST THE CHAIRS. Each chair is a gas chambered chair so when you roll yourself up to the poker table you can adjust the height of the chair to your comfort level. The poker table has a custom raised playing surface wrapped with the same felt you play on in Las Vegas. As you can see there are 10 cup holders and they were custom made bigger to fit a wine glass. If you were to buy this exact table, pay shipping, buy the chairs that come unassembled, pay to have them assembled you would spend $6,000. This poker table sits as a show piece in a $1.5 million dollar home. Please do not contact me unless you are a serious buyer. Moving it will be difficult, it is heavy and solid."

I'm honestly embarrassed by how many hours I poured into this, but it seems the rug used to be sold by a site named touchofclass.com. They called it the Reno style, and they also offered a round version, though neither is available now.

Here’s somewhere I discovered a listing for it, but clicking the link to the TOC site returns a 404 error.

Sad to say.... This is a table I’ve played on... It sits in a local bar that runs games a few times each week. Yes, it’s padded, but if the tiny star-shaped nuts don’t catch your arm hair, or the chips don’t disappear into the so-called "iconic" (as it’s been described to me) felt, the cup-holders will still occasionally swipe your chips...

That's one of the (multiple) reasons I really don't like the idea of chip wells. It makes it harder to see how much people have. That's part of the game knowing how much an opponent has available.

Further, you need to be able to see if people even have cards!

Not to mention what the f people would be hiding in there cubes or other bs.

This table is a complete cluster f and is basically unusable.

This isn’t a terrible notion. I recall BBO made a table called The Albatross that included a leaf to convert it from a 6-person table into a 8-person table. The idea itself seems fine to me; I’d just be wary of the seams.

Also, BBO’s model had a padded rail and looked a whole lot better.

Far ahead of rivals on price, the Akke Functional Art design studio truly went all out to produce the priciest poker table available, named “All in.”

Constructed from 15 varieties of rare wood species, this table required nearly 600 man-hours to complete. However, if you hoped to purchase this masterpiece, you’d be disappointed as it was awarded as a prize to the World Poker Tour’s Season XI Player of the Year. The fortunate recipient was Matt Salsberg, who reached three final tables and captured one WPT title that season, securing a comfortable lead in the POY standings."

Needs more species of exotic wood

TobyMicro-Stakes Grinder21 posts
Posted Oct 15, 2015, 6:44 AM#335

From Axel Yberg:

The name “All In” has a dual meaning. Most importantly, it is an acknowledgement of my appreciation for everyone that has been a part of helping me build the Akke brand. From the beginning, this has been a team effort and everyone involved has given it their all. On a personal level, it symbolizes the fact that when I commit to something, I give it everything I’ve got; mentally, physically, and emotionally. When I’m excited about an idea, the first thing I say is, “I’m all in!”

“All In” required over 600 man-hours of labor to create. The surface was constructed using fifteen species of exotic wood (including: Madagascar Ebony, Rosewood, Purple Heart, Zebra Wood, Wormy Maple, English Brown Oak, Black Locust, Claro Walnut, Quilted Maple, Sycamore, Cherry, Catalpa, Black Walnut, Quarter-Sawn White Oak, and live-edge Ash). The base was fabricated with gold-painted plumbing pipes and fittings, and Edison Reproduction Light Bulbs.

The vectors that bisect each angle on the perimeter of the table are made from Madagascar Ebony and Rosewood. Their colors, black and red, represent the suits in a deck of cards. This idea is carried into the turnbuckle drink holders, which are designed as a quadrant of Black Walnut and Cherry. The organic nature of the live-edge Ash on the perimeter of the table symbolizes the fact that the game of poker requires complex thinking, as opposed to a systematic game like Black Jack. To be a successful poker player, you must have plenty of skill, nerves of steel, and a good amount of luck. The steel horseshoes that surround the WPT logos symbolize that combination. The five diamond cutouts in the center of the table are a nod to the legendary Doyle Brunson and the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic. And of course, the gold pipes that make up the base represent the bling associated with Las Vegas.

This poker table wouldn’t exist if it were not for the generosity, excitement, and total belief in me that I received from my good friend Matt Gai and his wife Jenn. They funded this table (and it was very expensive). I am extremely thankful for this. In addition, Matt, an avid poker player, was instrumental in consulting with me regarding the necessities of creating a functional poker table.

This is a custom-made poker table top that I am offering for sale. This table top will accommodate 10 players plus the dealer comfortably. The felt is red and free of tears. I am selling the table top ONLY; the supporting legs or base are not included. It weighs approximately 100 lbs. Buyer must arrange pickup with a truck.

The felt has no tears, my liver has no holes, but both show plenty of wear.

9 chairs

$400

In the photo it appears dusty because it's stored in a place where items are being moved. But it’s in perfect condition. The chairs have wheels (:

Alright, this one resembles a gladiator arena for tiny rodents or oversized insects:

A ridiculous waste of tailored speed fabric. The rail is a grotesque abomination that resists description...

And this one belongs locked away in the dungeon.

I am confused, is it a 4 person table, or they only had 4 chip racks and drink holders, or screw the guys on the end, they don't get drink holders? And why does a skill need an eye patch? It is a skull. Confusing table......

I asked the owner some of these questions. Here's my response to the pic he posted on reddit.

200 Motels said:

Kill it with fire.

Let's pick this thing apart.

  1. A square poker table? 2) chip racks for 4 people.. tough turkey if you're the 5th guy to show up 3) Those slabs of foam...You need one big piece of closed cell foam (thin) and for that to be covered with a durable poker felt. The creases on this table top are going to expose cards and prevent cards from getting to their owner. 4) Two different colors of vinyl doesn't help this thing out at all.

  2. That spray paint could damage the cards you use.

All that aside, I'm sure you did your best with the resources you had, however, next time please try a tested design that's worked for others. There are tonnes of blueprints and tutorials on building a classic poker table. Can be done for under $300 usually.

Table Owner said:

Let's pick your comment apart. 1) Square table?! Yep. With a rounded rail you hardly notice. Shapes are fun, though. 2) chip racks for 4, eventually 6, adding one on each end. We had 10 people around this thing last night. Some preferred the trays, others preferred to just stack. 3) foam? Where? There's zero foam on this table. The creases on the table did not expose any cards and did not interfere with dealing in any way. We do however have to look in to a better texture, as the smoothness made picking the cards up annoying at times. Small fix. 4) two different colored vinyls were needed to make the table without spending money on additional leather. We had it already. 5) the spray paint is completely sealed. No damage. 6) we could've used a blueprint and built a carbon copy table. But we decided to use our monkey brains.

200 Motels said:

Also, I've built a couple tables much fuglier and lower quality than yours. I know it's no fun having someone respond negatively to something that you are proud of and were kind enough to share.

I'm kind of a snob when it comes to poker gear but I feel it's definitely worth the effort to play on a quality poker table. Using that suited speed cloth or a real casino felt with a bit of thin closed cell foam underneath plays so nicely and is very satisfying feeling to play on.

"3) foam? Where? There's zero foam on this table. The creases on the table did not expose any cards and did not interfere with dealing in any way"

What is the 'felt' made out of? Is there foam or padding under the rail? You used real leather on the rail? I think you can buy vinyl from car upholstery for pretty cheap.

I did not receive a response. I've become a poker gear snob.

What a steal.............

For sale is a very unusual item made for floating POKER games [I think]. Designed to unfold and rest on another table, 4-1/2 ft in diameter, and it folds to fit the zippered carry case shown—double-sided with a game surface on one side and smooth vinyl on the other, weighing about 20# , quite solid.

Might accept a trade or $125 in cash. See pictures for details.

This could look neat once put together. It appears to have a topper behind it that might render it playable, and I’d expect there are inserts for the chip trays and cup holders.

That said, I doubt anyone would actually have "JIMMY" carved into their granite table.

Also, it would weigh an absolute metric shit-ton.

There are lots of things one can make, where using the outline of Michigan is a good idea -- cookies, cakes, candies, a map, a golf course hole, a left-hand mitten storage box, etc. A poker table is not one of those things.

Pro tip: You can double the usefulness of a left-handed mitten storage box if you're willing to store your right-handed mittens upside-down. Of course my OCD (and I presume yours) would never allow such a thing, hence I have two mitten storage boxes to accommodate all my mitten storage needs.

The design is probably the biggest thing for me. It's always hard to upholster corners well, the inlayed chips are kinda tacky and the racetrack to cloth step is annoying. As far as materials, the wood is stained pine, which isn't super nice. You could do much better for that kind of price.

It's not a nerd game at all! Takes a while for people to learn how to play but once they have it, its addictive. Fun winter activity. Wish the game could use my chips vs cards though haha.

That said, it looks to be a fairly large table, which make it difficult for gaming unless you like to get up a lot to move markers on the far side of the table.

Not too bad.

Not too bad unless...

Rail-less table means chips always falling on the floor (unless spaceship's anti-grav device works outside of the ship)

Ruts to hold chips mean never having nice stacks.

1/8" (or 3mm since it's Canadian) deep cupholders are useless for spill prevention, excellent for dirt retention

Raised play surface means cards dealt over the edge will be exposed, unless inertia dampeners are online.

However it's vertical launch is pretty good...

CraigT78Shark171 posts
Posted Nov 16, 2016, 10:23 PM#658

Not terrible except...

A table without a rail means chips will always land on the floor (unless the ship's anti-grav system functions outside the vessel)

Grooves intended to hold chips prevent ever having neat stacks.

1/8" (or 3mm since it's Canadian) deep cupholders don't help prevent spills, they're perfect for collecting grime

A raised playing surface causes cards dealt off the edge to be revealed, unless the inertia dampers are active.

That said, its vertical launch is quite good...

Storage, on the other hand, is absolutely fine!

TheOctagonNewbie3 posts

I agree. You could pick that table apart endlessly, but the only truly terrible element is those damn dice chips.

Sort of. Well, definitely the dice chips. The build seems sturdy, but the dimensions are all wrong for a craps layout (even the single-dealer tub varieties). The box numbers never sit that close to the sidewall, there's a curious light at the end of the table affixed above the pyramid rubber, the layout itself doesn't look properly glued to the underlying surface which makes me think there's no padding to mute and disperse the dice, and there's an odd cluster of corner molding details blocking the stick right 3/4 player's throw and where they'd place bets.

I made a joke about the post title, but I suspect it's actually a rig for rehearsing controlled dice throws, and if so it's probably the most over-engineered practice setup imaginable.

Controlled dice throws? Is that a thing?

I've never spent a minute at a craps table.

The idea of controlled die throws is flawed. If you gripped the dice identically, struck the exact same spot with identical force and spin, you'd always produce the same result. With enough practice it should be possible. If Tom Brady can deliver the same pass repeatedly, why shouldn't someone be able to do the same with dice (though tampering like deflating the dice isn't an option).

In theory that reasoning holds (assuming air currents remain constant between throws). In practice, however, a person cannot reproduce that level of precision consistently. Still, many gambling myths persist, and those myths help sustain the casino business.

It's also worth noting that casinos forbid "dice setting" of this sort. Yet I've never heard of anyone actually being barred for dice setting, and there are documented instances of shooters going on streaks that lasted hours. Even so, those streaks weren't sequences of perfectly identical rolls (rolling a 4 followed immediately by a 4).

BGinGAShark160 posts

The table's body is constructed from plastic.

What's that located in the middle?

An injection-molded nipple, obviously.

TheOctagonNewbie3 posts
Posted Dec 2, 2016, 9:08 PM#684

Controlled die throws is a fallacious concept.

Correct. I've read a lot on the topic and I'm extremely skeptical. There's something to be said for a routine at a dice table, at least or a ritual or whathaveyou so long as it's not disruptive to the game. I have never seen anyone be prohibited or even asked to hurry up for setting the dice (even if they were to just chuck them like chicken feed at the end of their little felt-rubbing, blowing on the cubes, looking toward the Almighty schtick), myself included [Note: I don't do all that nonsense. I set them, and throw them as close to the same way every time. Nobody can control dice.]

In any case, people do have practice rigs for this type of thing. I knew it was probably one of those when I found the listing. I just don't know why it's so overbuilt if that's what it's for. Maybe it's for practicing dealing? It's really cooking my noodle.

He's selling the lumberjack table, because his bluffs SUCK.

Table was made for casino but not delivered. Seats 12. 80 inches around when open.

Made for a casino? Without logo, without dealer's area, without any possible way to scoop a pot, without a comfortable area to rest your arms?

Yeah, sell the table. You'll never make the money back at the table if that's the best bluff you can come up with.

It's not ugly per se, just weird.

That isn't bad actually. It is a 3 piece table topper. The top piece in the pic goes in the middle if you have a really big dining room table. Maybe use some Velcro straps or something like that to keep it from moving on the bottom.

That's actually not bad. It’s a 3 piece table topper. The top section in the photo belongs in the centre if your dining table is very large. You could try using Velcro straps or similar to prevent it from shifting on the underside.

MegaTon44, I found the winner.

Some of these tables are sincere attempts — the right concept executed poorly — but this one is pure denial. I’d rather play on the floor, and I’m not exaggerating. Even if it were free, I wouldn’t load it in my truck to take home. The only rescueable element is the cat!

For sale: a custom-made poker table that seats 12 people comfortably. This table has been used for 12 years of home games and remains in good condition. Built from very thick wood, it’s extremely sturdy and has solid padding. The heavy wood top also allows it to be used as a regular table. $400

lol, I saw that one the other day, I believe it's actually in NJ. Assuming they added the "poker" label to get more views, but it's really a board game table. I thought that was a risk map in the center, but it's actually a mounted flat screen TV for loading different games (maybe for D&D?). Given it's true purpose, it's actually not a bad table. There's a very niche market for these kinds of tables, google "geek chic table" to see how crazy detailed they can get.

I wish I had a picture of the first one I built. It was a table top that I put together with my awesome carpentry skills and two old pieces of wood I had laying around. While it served its purpose, the hinges were on the wrong side of the two boards I used, so there was a lump in the middle of the bright red felt that I got from Walmart, and the corners were only covered with a metal casing. Just enough to where we wouldn't get hurt if we hit it. The stupid thing weighed 4,000 pounds, I'm exaggerating a little bit, but in reality, it was probably only about 40 pounds. It was awkward. It was ugly. It was fantastic. We played on that table for a couple of years with the crappy 11.5 gram plastic "clay" chips you can buy in the aluminum case and some Orange County Choppers Playing Cards. We thought we were in the WSOP with our $20 buy-ins and zero knowledge of how to actually play. Seems like it was yesterday, but we're talking roughly 15-17 years ago. Great times.

$450 -

Maple and black custom corner poker and gaming table accompanied by 4 chairs.

Built to sit neatly in a corner. The table works well for poker and other tabletop games as and includes a dedicated dealer position.

Base constructed from 3/4" maple ply. Finished in gloss black with a maple faux inlay. Storage within the base is reachable through a removable panel.

The top was recently refinished and has not been used since. It’s covered in black felt over foam, providing a very playable surface. The rail is padded and covered in vinyl. 2 small areas of wear on the rail reveal some cracking. Easily repairable or re-wrappable.

The table disassembles for transport, but a truck, SUV, or larger vehicle will be required.

4 of the chairs are matched. 5th chair is not. All chairs are in good condition with no rips or tears. The 4 matching chairs are height-adjustable with slight recline. Backs can be locked to prevent reclining.

Reasonable offers will be considered. Serious inquiries only, please.

Created to sit neatly in a corner.

Intriguing idea. Could be worth investigating concepts for a marginally larger 6-person table positioned in the corner of a man cave....

I'm not certain it's ugly, but it is certainly distinctive. Credit for the copper details. Minus points for the wooden playing surface.

Add chips and cards to those tables and I'd give 3/1 on, at least two players have a stroke at the table prior to the game breaking.

From the sounds of things, we may have played in the same circles lol Great times!

condition: excellent

This is the complete poker game set up I've had in my house for the past couple of years. I've invested well over $2,000 in it, but have decided to part with it since we never play anymore. What you get is the following:

7 foot poker table with soft plus padding & blue felt. Table has 3 dealer tip slots that can be locked with a key

10 chairs

over 1500 chips....not the cheap plastic kind. Nice custom ordered from Ace Gaming Supply

I think it's Oak, but a wooden, nonetheless, Chip case with top storage space for cards, dealer button, etc. stores up to 1200 chips

(1) deck of used Copag cards with a cut card

dealer button

9 individual clear plastic 100ct chip trays

Looks like a $50 plastic table with some type of poker style hoody. He must have spent a lot on chips and chairs.

2 tables for $20 - that's an instant buy if you were going to make your own tables. Still plenty of work left, removing the top, trimming down... but $20? If I lived nearby, I'd have 2 new tables immediately.

BGinGAShark160 posts
Posted Apr 5, 2017, 2:41 PM#831

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Two for $30 = a great deal, even if only using the bases. For a low cost, corners can be rounded and rails attached. That's probably $80-$90 worth of matched speed fabric.

That technique actually performs quite well for portable or folding tables — automotive headliner or thin foam adhered to thin plywood, pressboard, or MDF, with SSC glued to the foam, and everything trimmed to match the base outline. No wrap-over, no staples..

One Eyed DollarMicro-Stakes Grinder16 posts
Posted Apr 5, 2017, 7:30 PM#835

I hope he did put some foam underneath, but I wouldn't bet on it given how the other tables look... SSC glued directly to plywood would likely perform terribly.

You prefer an unpadded wood rail over a vinyl, padded rail? Can you explain why?

Rounded wood rails are not as uncomfortable as some people think, and last much longer. Consider pretty much every bar you've ever been to.

Poker ZombieShark455 posts
Posted Apr 14, 2017, 7:57 PM#855

Two words: arm sweat.

Vinyl rails cradle my forearms in a non-breathable fabric. This is very discomforting to someone like me that has been referred to as a "human space heater". While I don't tend to sweat in unusual amounts, on a vinyl rail the heat is trapped/reflected back, resulting in a moist (and gross) rail. I do not have the same issue with suede (or other breathable fabrics), and wood provides very little skin to rail contact, so no heat issue there either.

As for those that think a wood rail would be uncomfortable, think about the hours you've spent at a dining room table, or at a bar watching a game. You can literally sit there for hours with good company and never feel uncomfortable. Just make sure the wood is smooth and round-off the edge. Just like any bar that wants you to stay in that seat as long as possible.
