I like to think I have advocated for Circus Games, and I've written a manifesto for Circus Game Progression (https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/machine%E2%80%99s-post-flop-apologetics.139230/)

I have had a blast with the previous group buys; I have noticed that it can be a bit overwhelming for people to browse through 45 game plaques. People will often look at a few, slide through the rest of the deck, and then close them up and set them down. I want to make the cards and games more appealing, and I think that if they are offered fewer choices, they will focus more on the options presented without feeling the need to spend excessive time picking a new game to play.

I've been working on this project for a bit now, and I'm excited about the efficiency of this set. One of the issues with the previous set is that everyone wants another game card, or a variant of the provided plaques; it seems endless.

I have also found that once someone understands a game concept or mechanic, they are willing to play variations of said game. Curating this set of games, my goal was to introduce specific game mechanics for players to learn. These concepts are the basis for other games and variants. I found 10 unique games that teach these concepts.

I've made the cards more durable and slightly smaller for easier handling. I would like to thank @<°)))><) (https://www.pokerchipforum.com/members/879/) for pointing me to this, along with inspiring some design changes.

10 Games on 5 cards; each has a game on the front and a back.

Please feel free to ask questions or leave feedback below.

Great idea. Hoping this will be an easier entrance into circus games for poker nights

I like the general design and the color choices; they help each game stand out from the others.

I don’t like the small, overlapping text on some game items. Not sure if that’s an intentional design choice, but I’d prefer the words to appear to the right of the game name in a uniform text style. (Also the holdout 8 item in that yellow is nearly invisible, while the others have good contrast colors)

Yeah some of the text is hard to read (in particular the tiny text below the cards). But I love the concept. These may even intrigue my crew who play near zero circus (yet).

You have a bisexual card? I think that was what it was called. Played @CraigT78’s house, think it is SOHE but with a predesignated common card between the Omaha and HE mitt hands. Craig, is that correct?

Will you be running a group buy for these cards in the near future? I'm part of the group of people who want to incorporate circus games into my poker nights but don't know where to begin. Also, great write-up in your manifesto!

It is and the SOHE card is bisexual in the middle. I have subtitles under the primary name of the game.

I think it’s a better game than traditional SOHE

Are you going to run a group buy for these cards in the near future? I'm also among those wanting to incorporate circus games into my poker nights but unsure how to begin. Also, excellent write-up in your manifesto!

I was thinking of starting an interest thread, and if enough people sign up, I would organize a group buy for them.

Could you size the cards to match a standard index card dimension so we can purchase card protectors that fit them?

They’d be an excellent method to introduce and organize the games from the 45 card box—excited to see how much interest there is

can you size the cards around a common index card size so we can buy card protectors for them?

I really like the size of these, and they would fit in a 4 x 6 index standard-size protector.

These are 130 x 70mm; a 3 x 5 index card is 76.2 x 127 mm, which works out to 1/8 of an inch (longer). They are also 0.9 mm thick, about 1/3 the thickness of a poker chip or a credit card's thickness.

The thing is, these are harder than any clear plastic sleeve you would put them in. There is an option to have a hole punched in them; the hole can be elongated to keep them together with a keyring or lanyard. The cost per set would like be at least 1/2 of the previous versions.

I can produce these using the PVC ID card printer I own. They would, however, be the size of a credit card.

I could produce these with the PVC ID card printer I own, but they'd be credit-card sized.

I'm pretty sure it's PVC, although that size would be too small.

I wanted to post some FAQs in this thread

General questions:

What is the most challenging aspect of running Group Buys?

Great question Machine! By far, it is communication and the collection of funds. You see, there are spam tools that restrict posts, and PMs are posts. This protects us on the site from spammers. Often, Group Buy organizers have specific instructions on how to do something; it's not because they are pedantic (although this one likely is); it's designed to make communication faster and smoother for all the Group-Buy-ies. It helps prevent order quantity mix-ups and/or miscommunications.

Do you have any extras for sale?

A few others and I will order extras. Sometimes, we give them to hosts, and we know people will always ask after they miss something. Post in this thread if you would like. Sometimes ppl will post sell ads.

What is Free On Board shipping?

Well, I can tell you what it's not: it's not Free!

Here is an article that explains it in detail. Basically, it is me saying that I will get your order to the post office. Once they have it, they are responsible for the package.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/f/fob.asp

Timing:

How long will the Group Buy take?

From the order date, the expected turnaround time: (20 business days)

The duration of order collection and fund collection varies; I like to leave it open, depending on the units, especially if we are close to another pricing tier.

I could make these on the pvc ID card printer I have . They would be credit card size though.

I would dig a playing card sized deck of these.

I realize this set was put together for efficiency, but would Scarney/Peanut (specifically those versions, not every variant) have sufficiently distinct mechanics to justify their own cards?

I’m interested in a set.

My group plays an orbit of NLH and then PLO. We always have to make a card that has the game title on them to remind everyone the game in play.

Can we get the standard games in this set also to show during these games?

I’d want a full collection of the earlier set in this size. I personally think presenting every game variant clearly helps when teaching the game to newcomers. Some folks prefer reading the rules instead of listening to them.

Can I order a custom set that says SCROTUM instead of Holdout 8? Or do I have to use a marker to personalize my set, for example @inca911 (https://www.pokerchipforum.com/members/839/) does  :ROFLMAO:

Folks will often examine at a few, flip through the rest of the deck, then close them and set them aside. I want the cards and games to be more enticing, and I believe that offering fewer choices will help players concentrate on the presented options without feeling compelled to spend too long choosing a new game.

I've been developing this project for a while now, and I'm enthusiastic about the streamlined nature of this set. One problem with the earlier set is that everyone keeps requesting another game card or a variant of the existing plaques; it feels never-ending.

I've also observed that once someone grasps a game's concept or mechanic, they're open to playing variations of that game. In curating this collection, my aim was to introduce distinct mechanics for players to learn. These ideas form the foundation for other games and variants. this was actually a customer request to change it from scrotum. having overly sexualized names causes some validity concerns for new players.
