We wanted to put together this thread to give you some guidelines of what should be posted in this section. Any questions? Post them below!

What should be posted in the Online Poker forum?

The Online Poker forum is a place to discuss anything related directly to playing poker online.

Some examples could be:

Best computer set up for playing online

Differences between live and online

Strategies as they pertain to online poker (i.e. sitting out on the bubble, running out the time clock, late registration)

Online poker legislation

Formats of poker offered online

Twitch Poker Streams (of online poker games)

Any general topics about online poker or playing poker online

What should not be posted here:

Anything to do with specific online poker rooms. Please use Poker Rooms (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-rooms-10/) for that.

Anything to do with live poker. We have a Live Poker (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/live-poker-75/) forum those topics.

Poker news topics - big events or news happening in the poker world. Those topics should go in Poker News (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-news-events-63/).

Rail threads, challenges, or bad beats. Those should go in our Get a Game Going/Rail Requests (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/a-game-going-rail-requests-42/), Bad Beats and Vents (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/bad-beats-vents-71/), or Poker Goals, Challenges and Wins (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-goals-challenges-wins-46/)

Hand Analysis - Please use our Cash Game (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/cash-game-hand-analysis-50/) or Tournament (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/tournament-hand-analysis-51/) Hand Analysis sections

General tournament strategy - use Tournament Poker (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/tournament-poker-59/) instead

General cash game strategy - this should go in Cash Games (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/cash-games-11/)

General poker topics not necessarily related to online poker - use General Poker (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/general-poker-13/)

Learning poker topics - take those to Learning Poker (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/learning-poker-57/)

See this post (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/new-members-corner-76/how-use-cardschat-tutorial-faqs-406723/#post4773399) for a complete listing of our forums and where your topics should go.

Just nudging this thread so others might check the guidelines before replying here. πŸ™‚ It’s common to see many posts land in this section that actually belong in one of the other areas listed above.

I personally prefer playing online on a computer β€” I feel that most machines will perform fine provided the internet connection is reliable. πŸ™‚

Just nudging this topic so folks might check before posting here. πŸ™‚ Many threads end up here that would fit better in one of the other sections listed above.

I posted a thread titled hand of the day to share some wild hands (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-hands/) I’ve seen recently to talk about β€” I found it after posting and now I’m not sure whether it belongs in tournament poker, hand discussion, or somewhere else …. 🀯 sorry

I created a thread in "hand of the day" to share some wild hands I've seen and to discuss them β€” I only discovered this after posting, and I'm not sure whether it belongs in tournament poker, hand discussion, or somewhere else…. 🀯 Sorry

No problem β€” I can look it over for you and relocate it if needed.

Tammy, are we allowed to promote online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/) clubs in here?

We wanted to create this thread to provide some guidance on what belongs in this section. Any questions? Post them below!

Any general topics about online poker or playing poker online

What does not belong here:

Anything related to live poker. We have a Live Poker (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/live-poker-75/) forum for those topics.

Poker news items β€” major events or news in the poker world. Those belong in Poker News (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-news-events-63/).

Tammy are we allowed to promote online poker clubs in here?

If we are talking about private poker clubs, then the answer would be no since this is some form of advertising which is against our site rules.

Hope that helps. πŸ™‚

So Tammy you keep pulling down my that concern fair play. Can you tell me why

I merged a thread that was the same topic as another you had already created. I did look and see that a couple of your threads were deleted because you already had other threads up on that same topic. They could have potentially been merged with those threads, but you also aren't very clear with a lot of your thread starters as to what your point is.

In your thread about PokerStars MI, I did a little quick research for you and offered you some info.

If you want to avoid threads being deleted, here is some advice:

Don't create multiple threads on the same topic - keep it to one to avoid confusion or deletion.

If you do create a new thread, remember you are starting a new topic - so if you want decent and relevant replies, you have to do a good job of laying out what you are talking about. Don't assume people have read any of your other threads or posts.

Make sure you aren't being rude or insulting to community members. This isn't Reddit or the Facebook comment section. If you want to get your point across, you'll have better luck if you aren't insulting people right out the gate.

River has been hitting 1% lately, and so for the time being I'm the one becoming denser β€” particularly when I'm a bit more interesting β€” though it might simply be a rough streak.

Thanks for putting together these guidelines. I think having different sections for specific topics makes the forum much easier to navigate and helps members find the right discussions.

As someone who is still learning and improving my poker skills, I appreciate knowing where to post questions and share experiences. A well-organized forum makes it easier for players of all levels to learn from each other.

Looking forward to participating more in the CardsChat community!
