Do you play differently on mobile vs PC?

jycoRegular66 posts

I feel like I should play the same on both, but I definitely play better on PC. When I’m on my computer, I’m fully prepared with music and everything set up to focus properly. On mobile, I feel much more distracted since I’m usually doing other things while playing. In theory it should be the same, but in reality it isn’t.

Yes, definitely. On PC I play much more focused and disciplined because I have better visibility, HUD/stat support, fewer distractions, and it’s easier to multi-table. On mobile I tend to simplify my strategy a bit, play fewer tables, avoid marginal spots, and focus more on straightforward value decisions. Mobile is great for convenience, but for serious grinding and maximizing EV, PC feels much better.

I think it depends on the person. For example, I feel more free when I play on my phone, but that’s just because of the mobility it offers. I haven’t noticed that I play any differently because of it; I take the cards just as seriously as I would if I were playing on a PC.

Fun fact i am a linux user and GG forbid me to use virtual machines. So i have no other opportunity then using mobile poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/mobile/). And i get really used to it and dont miss the PC version. I would never believe this myself in the past.🤔

Good morning everyone. I started playing poker at the end of 2018, and the difference between playing poker on a laptop, on a computer with a large monitor, or on a cellphone is huge. Lately, I’ve been playing on my cellphone, and the main difference is that I end up playing hands (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-hands/) that I would never play on a computer for one single reason: lack of patience. Playing on a cellphone is very bad because you only play one table, at most two, and you eventually lose patience and start playing absurd hands.

I busted from a tournament on PartyPoker that had only a few players remaining. I shoved for more than 20 blinds from the small blind versus the big blind with Q7 offsuit, and the villain had AK. It was a terrible mistake. I should never play Q7 offsuit in that situation. First, I shouldn’t even call versus a 3x raise from the small blind, let alone turn it into a 3-bet shove for more than 20 big blinds.

So, the main factor is the lack of patience when playing on a cellphone.

yes, aces come more often on the phone (I often confuse 4 with A)😀

Mobile 100% gives you the freedom to move around and it's also better because I don't like PC screens.

RosemaryyyNewbie4 posts

Yeah, definitely. On mobile I tend to play a bit tighter and simpler since it’s easier to miss details or timing tells (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-tells/). On PC I’m more comfortable multi-tabling, taking notes, and making thinner reads because you can track the action way better.

definitely on mobile I'm not as much concentrated as on PC. And if the tournament starts really late I often continue to play on the phone in the bed and sometimes I fall asleep. It happened to me recently I was on FT and unfortunately fall asleep 😀

Yes, I find it bad on my phone because I can't open more than one screen at a time. I think I concentrate better on the PC; playing games with my phone in my hand ends up being quite tiring during a long session.

lwccaszRegular30 posts

Most of the time I play on my cell phone, but only 1 table at a time, that way I can concentrate better.

On the computer I usually open 2 tables, and I end up making some mistakes that I don't make on the mobile.

I almost never play games on my phone. I think I played the same way, but I don't feel comfortable. The keyboard and Alt+Tab are very important to me. It's something that a phone can't emulate/replace.

Yes. I feel that I can check the hand history and view my position in a tournament by going to the lobby…it is rare, but, occasionally I make decisions based on info gained.

Playing poker on a PC is better because you can keep your tables organized; you can view as many tables as you want on a single screen, which allows you to see all your opponents.

CaioRJRegular57 posts

The game of Poker is the same regardless of whether it's on mobile, PC, or in person. The only difference is the limitation: physically and on PC you can manage your chips better, while on mobile you have limitations. This, combined with the betting time, can work against you.

It’s most convenient to play on a computer; you get the full experience—viewing the tournament lobby, tagging players and multi-tabling with more than four tables. Playing on a phone is a nice bonus or a good option when your PC isn't available. Sometimes I play satellites on my phone and the main tournament on my PC. I like that approach.

If you're very right you're on the phone and suddenly you get a message and you leave the room to answer and go back to the room sometimes you have to log in once again you get lost in a few hands (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-hands/), on the PC it's easier you can open a lot of tables and a lot of rooms, and you can watch fun videos and more, I use two monitors I had an old one saved and it still works.

These options each have their own set of pros and cons and offer different experiences for the end user. In most cases, a PC is recommended, as all the benefits are only realized when used on a computer. You might wonder why most pros play exclusively on computers. It's probably for a reason: desktop clients are more convenient for long poker sessions. But if you plan to play on the go, nothing beats a tablet or phone.

On mobile I struggle to focus at the game . I play worse on mobile , less hours , less focus , more mistakes , more uncomfortable. And many disconnections online on mobile

australRegular81 posts

PC

6 tables → many decisions → less time per decision → more range-based play, automation, and pattern recognition → high volume.

Mobile

1 table → fewer simultaneous decisions → more attention available → more time to observe the opponent → potentially more individualized decisions.

Hello 🙂

Naturally, playing on a computer is far superior and more comfortable than playing on a mobile phone; on a computer, we can browse poker rooms or play multiple games on the same screen without having to switch between pages, as is the case on mobile.

Yes, I do. On a PC, I play more seriously because it's easier to multi-table, take notes, and stay organized. The larger screen also helps me pay closer attention to betting patterns and table dynamics. On mobile, I usually stick to one table and play lower volume. It's convenient when I'm away from my computer, but I try to avoid making difficult decisions if I'm distracted. For me, the PC is better for long, focused sessions, while mobile is best for casual or shorter games.
