Hello, I'm from Chile and I believe that online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/) is far more difficult than live poker, and the reasons are that in live games you can feign displeasure with your hand, whereas online the only expressionless action available is checking.

I understand what you're saying but I'd say it's still deeper than that, I've played live poker a few times and I'd say it's very difficult to get a good hand compared to online. There's alot of factors that need to be considered

Live casino players gamble more in my opinion . They usually have less experience .

I would say in person is better if your able to read people once you've gotten to know the players sitting at the table with you.

Hello🙂

I think live poker is harder than online poker.

I 100% agree, even though I’ve personally never played live poker! 😅

From everything I read and watch, a $1/$2 live game at a casino seems to be full of casual players limping and playing for fun. Meanwhile, a $0.05/$0.10 online game is packed with regs using software, studying charts, and fighting for every single big blind.

Because of multi-tabling and the speed of online software, online players get to see thousands of more hands (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-hands/), making the average field way more experienced and aggressive. Online poker is definitely a battlefield!

Yeah 100% agree online is way more difficult

I agree that online poker can be tougher in many ways. In live poker, you can pick up physical tells, table talk, and betting patterns, while online you're mostly relying on timing, bet sizing, and player tendencies.

That said, live poker has its own challenges. You have to control your emotions, avoid giving away tells, and stay focused for long sessions.

Personally, I think online poker is more technical, while live poker is more psychological. Being good at one doesn't automatically mean you'll be good at the other. ♠️

Online poker is generally tougher because players are stronger, games move faster, and studying tools are widely used. Live poker is usually softer but requires different skills, such as reading physical tells and managing live table dynamics.

Online poker is essentially a completely elementary game if you are a sufficiently experienced and skilled player. Online poker is simply mathematics and nothing more.

I think that if we're talking purely about skill level, then yes, online poker is much tougher, especially at the higher buy-in levels. The average level of play online is generally much stronger because players tend to study more, play more volume, and have access to a lot of learning resources.

Live poker, on the other hand, is usually softer. That doesn't mean it's easy, but in theory the overall skill level is often quite a bit lower than what you'll find in tougher online games.

It's arguable that online poker is harder to win than live poker. This is because online players are much more technical, and many are accustomed to playing multiple tables simultaneously and making quick decisions.Variance is a real thing in live play. My advice is, if you're unlucky, just quit. You can't bluff 4-way on the flop. It's suicide, so you need to make hands, and if you don't, you're just throwing away your money.

What I don't like playing online is the fact a lot of people uses softwares to help them, to me they must be banned.

I've played live a few times. I've been playing online for quite a few years now. And in my opinion, playing live is much more difficult, playing live requires more experience and skills.

For me, on the contrary, online is easier because there is a larger sample of hands for an opponent and you already know what to expect from him. In real life, the speed of the game is slower and there is no such database.

I would just say that it's different. In real life, I think it's much harder to get information, it's harder to follow statistics, percentages.

Online, you can get these with a utility, and the hard part is interpreting a lot of data, much faster and on multiple tables.

For me to play online. It's less difficult. The truth is, the difficult thing about playing live is keeping an eye on the card dealer and the cheating players. (I wish it weren't like that, but if you want to cheat live online too)

Playing online, there are also ways to make yourself appear weak, one way is by slow rolling, but don't overdo it, because people might notice.

It's not that it's more difficult, but for example, in live play you can see the person and pick up on their reactions, which makes it easier. Online, you have to read your opponent based on how they play.

You know, this is quite different.

I don't have much experience in live poker and neither do I have online poker.

Everything happens faster in online poker and therefore you can get a good hand faster.

But I had a couple of stories in a live tournament.

First, within just a few hands, I hit a straight and my opponent hit a royal flush, and I lost most of my stack. I also had a flush situation: I had a king and my opponent hid an ace. Before that, I thought that in real life, such trash as online rarely happens, or maybe I was just lucky.

but there were also positive moments, firstly I noticed that each dealer deals you hands differently, there were dealers who dealt me excellent hands and on the contrary there was one dealer from whom I simply didn’t get anything. I also noticed that one of the dealers was often dealt certain cards, and I decided to try to open some really weak hands and immediately got a straight from the flop.

Although similar things can be noticed in online poker, for example, you can notice how often a quad or triple appears within half an hour, what cards appear more often and take advantage of these moments, it does not always work, but it happens

Yes, live poker is easier because casinos (https://www.casino.us/) attract "fish" and weak players.

Some people said is more rigged online, but is more safe to play.

Yes, I believe online poker is generally more difficult than live poker.

Online players see far more hands (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-hands/), use tracking tools, study more, and gain experience much faster.

The pace is also much quicker, so mistakes can be costly and repeated often.

In live poker, many games still have more recreational players, and you can gain additional information from physical tells (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-tells/) and table dynamics.

That said, online is great for improving quickly, while live poker is often softer and can be more profitable for many players. ♠️

I think there’s definitely some truth to that. online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/) removes a huge amount of information that you get for free in live games. In a live setting, players can pick up on things like hesitation, physical reactions, speech patterns, bet placement, and general behavior. Even if those tells aren’t always reliable, they add another layer of information.

Online, most of that disappears. A check is just a check, a bet is just a bet, and you have to rely much more on betting patterns, timing, sizing, and statistics. There’s no body language to help you decide whether someone is uncomfortable with their hand or pretending to be weak.

At the same time, online poker has its own advantages. You can play more hands, study opponents with tracking tools, review your decisions, and focus purely on strategy. The game becomes more about ranges, probabilities, and exploiting repeated tendencies rather than reading a person across the table.

Live poker can feel easier because weaker players often make bigger mistakes and give away more information. Online poker can feel harder because the average player is usually more experienced and the game moves much faster.

For me, the biggest difference is that live poker is more about people and situations, while online poker is more about patterns and numbers. Both are difficult, just in different ways.

That difference does exist, but its impact is smaller than most people imagine. A strong player doesn't rely on faking emotions to win. Their edge comes primarily from making better mathematical and strategic decisions than their opponents.

Yes, online is usually harder for all player

More pros, faster pace, and tools like HUDs/solvers make the average player way tougher than live.
