Sometimes more, sometimes less, but it is difficult to say exactly how many percent. In general, I think the ratio of skills to luck is 50/50 per cent. But in terms of luck as a separate indicator, this percentage is probably quite difficult to calculate.

It is primarily a game of skill, although luck plays a huge role. In any given hand, luck is the predominant factor in who wins or loses. However, poker players do not play one hand.Poker is generally considered a game of both luck and skill, but the balance between the two can vary depending on the type of poker and the level of competition.

luck is needed no matter what hand you play. I have been entering step satellites on gg poker lately. In the last 3 weeks I have played 24 x $2.50 buy ins to win a seat and recorded hand that busted me. Of the 24 satellites zero wins. 17 of the 24 times I busted out I had the best hand going in and lost all 17. Also didn't have luck with the ones I was behind because I lost those races also. Hand like top set with a dry board and I lose again. My last one was flopping nut straight and AKQJ10. Villain called all in with J2 suited and went runner runner to beat me with flush. Whoever said getting it in good would reward you is bs. I blame the shove bingo that these satellite's are and really really bad luck. Skill is not involved when the cards are being dealt, since you do not know what cards you will get.

Skill is also not necessary when deciding preflop to push or call an all-in, since many players (good or bad) can and do with any two cards.

Skill is not a factor when two players are all in preflop since it is strictly luck with no decision to be made postflop.

However, skill is required in many other situations when deciding how to play your hand.

Can you really calculate the percentage of luck vs. skill with all the possibilities abound?

Yes, you get lucky in poker online (https://www.casino.us/poker/). Just like any fraudulent bet site, poker online will give you wins in your initial days playing poker to make you addicted and stimulate deposits. After you get caught into their net, they'll start to shift that luck in a very short period of time.

Those comments are tilting brother:

He is literally complaining about not having/getting expected returns, his thoughts won't change reality/the outcome at all. If the money goes in good and you keep loosing(which seems to be what's happening to like 80%. of the player base) the problem is not with you.

Embrace variance yes, but if variance goes only one way it's not variance at all because variance is variable friend

In a single hand: luck can account for 80–95% of the outcome. Even the best play can lose to a weaker hand.

Over a short session (100–500 hands): luck still plays a very significant role, accounting for roughly 60–80% of the results.

Over tens or hundreds of thousands of hands: skill becomes the dominant factor in determining the outcome. Luck is still present, but its influence decreases significantly.

You definitely need luck in poker; without it, you won't be able to conquer massive fields, no matter if you're a super pro. It’s a fact that some players are luckier than others. Watching players from Asia, in particular, makes you wonder if they know how to boost their luck—especially when they go all-in with any two cards.

If you play enough, you'll eventually get lucky in some tournaments, because that's just how poker works. But you shouldn't rely too much on luck. Good players aren't going all-in on flips all the time; they try to build their stack gradually by winning pots without taking unnecessary risks.

hardongearShark162 posts

All poker involves having some luck now and again nothing to do with playing online itself. At the end of the day poker is really pretty simple......you start with the best hand pre-flop more times then villain in the long run and the best hand holds more often then not. What makes poker hard is ego, feelings and lack of discipline. 90+% of players have way way too much of the first 2 thing of them 3 things and below zero of the last thing.

Cheers!!!

"Good morning everyone. A poker player shouldn't rely on luck to turn a profit or make money — instead, focus on making the correct plays and studying. Over time, luck will end up on your side. I say this because, in my best results playing large field tournaments on GGPoker, luck was on my side and I won a lot of all-ins, finishing 2nd in an MTT with over 3,000 players. In another situation, I hit the bad beat jackpot: I lost with quads on the flop, and on the turn my opponent made a straight flush. I've been playing poker since 2018, and I can say the luck factor isn't that important — some days will favor you and others won't."

Luck plays a huge role in online poker, especially over the short term. You can make the right decision and still lose because the cards don't always cooperate. That's what makes poker both exciting and frustrating.

However, over thousands of hands (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-hands/), luck becomes less important than skill. Players who consistently make better decisions, manage their bankroll (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-bankroll-management/) well, and stay emotionally disciplined usually come out ahead in the long run. I try to accept variance as part of the game and focus on playing my best rather than worrying about individual results.

DramamineRegular54 posts

I found that the huuuge tourneys on GG have unbearable variance, even at micro stakes. I much prefer playing tournaments of about 100-200 people. Even with 9 man sit and go's you really should be rolled for about 50 of them, I would say.
