I have everything planned out at home so that nothing can distract me while playing.
For me, the biggest distractions are my son, my wife, and my boss 😅
Something always happens during the session, especially on my days off, when my boss decides to send things from work.
Planned things so that there shouldn't be any but always something happens.. dog or kids.
I think poker is the biggest distraction of everything. But well, when playing poker I must keep sound on as anything that happens may distract me from poker and I can easily forget that I was actually playing.
I sometimes wind up watching sports on TV or looking at Facebook, and then miss small clues or information .
Great question! When I started playing, I'd turn on the TV and not really focus on the game. Another thing was that I'd lie down and get sleepy. Now I play sitting down, with music, without any distractions.
I would say most of the time my kid's they are young so they can distract me a lot at times
playing in the morning or late night no kids around me lol lol
What’s the biggest online poker distraction at home?
my wife! she keeps telling me to put that sh.t down, so i can pay attention to her. annoys me.. 🤬
Without a doubt the cell phone.
For me, the biggest online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/) distraction at home is definitely YouTube. I'll tell myself I'm just putting on something in the background, and before I know it I'm more invested in a random video than the hand I'm playing. 😅
A close second is checking my phone after folding a hand. One quick look turns into scrolling, and suddenly it's my turn with pocket queens and 10 seconds left on the time bank. 😂♠️
When I play at home, anything can be a distraction, especially since I play on my phone. I think when my PC was working, nothing distracted me.
Usually my phone when I forget to turn off notification and put it on silnce
My wife's health. There isn't a morning I wake up wondering whether or not she'll still be breathing & quite often during the day I am monitoring her vitals (blood pressure, body temp., heart rate, etc.) wondering if we're headed to the Emergency unit at the Hospital. It has kept me from playing MTT's for the past few years.
cellphone is always a distraction and music since poker is the most boring thing in the world
My biggest distraction is the cat. If she sits on the mousepad, the keyboard, or right in front of the monitor, that’s it… I’m out of the game. Honestly, I lose more hands (https://www.casino.us/poker/strategy/poker-hands/) because of her than because of tilt.😉👍
For me, it's the boredom of not talking to anyone—it actually becomes a distraction; I get so bored that I sometimes lose focus on the game.
My wife obviously, lol.... just kidding, when i have the grandchildren over, they take precedence over poker.
Sometimes is your family, they don't understand poker and believes your are playing a random game for fun.
When I play, I try to shut out the outside world as much as I can. I go to my office, close the door, and put my phone on airplane mode. It helps me stay focused and take the game more seriously.
The biggest online poker distractions at home are multitasking, social media, TV, family interruptions, browsing the internet, playing too many tables, and fatigue. Staying focused by minimizing distractions and avoiding autopilot is key to making better decisions and improving long-term results.
anything and everything, but the main one is the 5 min break at the hour, sometimes i'll completely forget i'm in a game
It's usually my wife who talks to me while I'm playing. Since I have a little time for everything, I end up getting caught up in the conversation sometimes and I miss important situations.
Cellphone and noise, usually noise made by neighbors (specially on saturdays), those are the biggest distractions here
the desire to eat
When someone urgently needs your help during a session, but you’re playing 6–8 tables across different poker sites (https://www.casino.us/poker/) and can’t switch to playing on your phone.
I would say that my girlfriend, normally I like to play my days off, but she also wants to spend time with me, so it's my turn to sometimes, or just not play
I think the biggest distractions are those that can't be planned, such as unexpected visits, for example. But beyond that, the biggest challenge is learning to combat boredom and tiredness.
Unplanned or unexpected real life things coming up and needing attention ASAP. Usually I have things pretty planned out so there's no distractions thou. So 99% of the time I have no distractions.
Cheers!!!
netflix! it eats away at my poker time.I have paused my subscription until I manage timemanagement.
For me, the biggest distraction at home is probably the temptation to do anything except focus on the game. Checking your phone, opening random tabs, watching videos, or even just getting up to grab something can completely break your concentration.
The hardest part about online poker (https://www.casino.us/poker/) is that you're sitting alone, so it's easy to lose discipline. A good setup, turning off notifications, and treating the session like you're actually sitting at a live table makes a huge difference.
Posting or replying to posts on CardsChat while playing tournaments.
No distraction at home . Everything is just fine . The bad [bing is the connection problems that I have when I play on mobile , especially when I go to another App (https://www.casino.us/poker/mobile/) and I get back to poker app . Need tonlog in again. Find my table manually in some poker rooms on mobile etc . But on home I have no distraction, I can play whenever I want .
