Tbh the best way is just to jump in at the micro stakes and learn as you go, watch a few YouTube vids on hand rankings first though

Honestly just start with Texas Hold'em basics on YouTube and hop into some play money tables first, you'll pick it up way faster than reading a wall of text.

best advice i got was to just play tight at first, don't chase every hand and you'll lose way less while you're learning. youtube has some solid beginner playlists too, just search "texas holdem for beginners" and you're set

honestly just learn the hand rankings and then play the lowest stakes you can find, you'll pick up the flow way faster than watching a dozen tutorials

fr just download a free app and mess around with play money, you’ll get the hang of it in no time

just play tight, don't chase every hand like the guy above said, and you'll lose slower while you figure it out. youtube has tons of beginner stuff too

honestly just start with the basics, hand rankings and positions, then play some super low stakes to get a feel for it without sweating the losses

i learned the hard way folding a full house once cuz i misread my own cards lol

I’d say jumping straight into low stakes without learning ranges first is a mistake, you just bleed slowly that way.

I learned position the hard way when I kept playing king jack offsuit from early spots and wondering why I was always outkicked on the flop.

focus on one concept at a time, like I spent a whole week just folding anything below ace ten and it forced me to learn position without going broke on weak hands

Honestly just dive into some free Sit N Go tables, that feeling when you finally trap someone with a disguised set is so addicting

honestly mate its tough to really "teach" poker if you dont first figure out what kinda game you even wanna play, cash or tourneys are like night and day. i wasted months grinding cash when i was naturally better suited for the more chaotic pace of MTTs.

honestly the fastest way i got decent was folding way more than i thought i should, like if you arent sure just toss it and watch how the others play the hand instead. saved me so much chips just sittin back and seeing how the aggro players eventually blow up

If you are just starting out, forget cash games for now and grind those free tourneys, you get way more hands in without bleeding your balance dry.

Position at the table matters way more than most beginners realize.

raxoriNewbie2 posts

Tourneys teach you patience way faster than cash ever will imo

I always found the term "poker face" funny because beginners think it means staring people down when really it just means not touching your face every time you bluff.

Honestly just diev into Texas Holdem, the betting rounds click way faster when you have chips on the line.

learned more from losing a few buyins than any guide tbh, forces you to fix your leaks fast

Ladyseo3Newbie2 posts

I'd say forget cash for a bit, free tourneys are less punishing while you learn the flow tbh

honestly just fold everything that isnt a premium hand for the first week, i ignored that advice and spewed so many chips chasing draws i had no business being in

Are you more into the mental side of it, like bluffing and reading people, or just trying to nail down the basiic rules first
