Fr, one minute you're cruising and the next you're questioning every life choice at the river
Yeah and the worst part is you can play perfectly and still get crushed, that's what hooks you
Yes
ngl the swings make me feel like a genius and an idiot in the same hand
glad I’m not the only one riding that rollercoaster lol
ngl the worst is when you're card dead for an hour then finally get aces and they get cracked immediately
it's the only game where you can be up 3 buy-ins, lose one hand, and suddenly question if you even know how to play

the absolute swing from "I'm a poker god" to "have I ever actually played this before" happens way too fast
fr the emotional damage hits different when you're convinced you made the right play and still get stacked
the emotional swings are what keep me coming back tbh, no other game makes you feel so alive and so dead inside in the span of 5 minutes
The sheer mental whiplash from running pure and feeling like a genius to getting coolered three times in a row and doubting your entire strategy is unmatched in any other hobby. Honestly sometimes I think the variance is just a long con designed to kepe you exactly break even and vaguely frustrated forever.
fold when you feel that anger tilt coming on seriously just sit the next hand out
I once had pocket aces cracked by a guy who called my preflop shove wih 7 2 offsuit and then he told me it was his lucky hand.
its a madness i cant quit, the bad beats make me feel alive
The crazy part isn't even the cards, it's how fast a perfectly calm table turns into everyone muttering to themselves after one bad river.
if you play online track your hands with software to see the real leaks, its eye opening
id rather deal with the crazy swings than the slow boring grind of folding 80 percent of hands honestly, at least the madness keeps you awake even if your bankroll doesnt agree lol
Tracking stats like you mentioned sounds helpful but I honestly just go by feel, seeing my exact mistake rate would probably tillt me harder than a runner runner flush.
The real crazynes is how you can play perfect and still lose to some guy chasing a gutshot.
I once folded pocket queens preflop in a home game and the flop came QQQ, everyone still brings it up years later. Poker really knows how to make you question every decision you make.
I'll take the fast table with swings any day over the math nerds who tank for two minutes just to fold a nine high, at least I know I'm getting action instead of watching someone do long division in their head.
Sometimes the craziest hand you play is the one where you fold the winner and pretend you knew all along.
yeah bro poker be humbling real quick, one bad river and im staring at teh ceiling like wtf ?
Keep a short memory for bad beats or it’ll eat your focus at the next table.
I would rather lose chasing a gutshot than win by folding my way to a slow bleed, because the only ting worse than a bad beat is a boring session where nothing happens.
the tilt is real man i remember once i shoved with ace king suited and got called by deuce seven offsuit, guy rivered a straight and i almost threw my laptop out the window
Do you think the craziness is worse in tournaments or cash games?
i'll ride the crazy wave over the slow grind too, sitting there folding for hours just makes me zone out and then i make even dumber calls later
The real chaos isn’t just the cards, it’s how a single hand can completely rewire your mood for the rest of the night
Do you find the crazy swings mosly in cash games or do the big tournament bubble moments hit harder for you
lmao it's like poker gods just enjoy messing with us ?
I get why people call it crazy but honestly the real madness is how much luck hides behind a thin layer of skill, you can make 10 right reads and still get stacked by a 2 outer on the river. that slow grind of folding 80 percent is way more terrifying to me, it’s like the game punishes patience just as hard as it punishes bad play
do you find the crazynes tilts you more online or in live games
give me the wild swings over some grinder calculating pot odds for 4 minutes straight honestly, id lose my mind at a table that slow rather donk off my stack chasing a gutsshot than sit there folding for 2 hours, at least im having fun that way
