What do you think is a normal stack size for this game 38BB? Or should I try to build up a bigger one?

Try build up to a bigger one
Right
На вашу думку, який стек буде зручнішим?
38BB is reliable, but I'd aim to raise it closer to 50-60 if possible — that gives you a lot more flexibility postflop and helps avoid panicking, for real.
Yeah 38 is usable but 50-60 provides much more breathing room after the flop, you won't be nervous every hand not gonna lie.
Yeah, I'm with you on that.
I competed in the very first qualifier, where they handed out 5 bb—staying in was tough.🙄
38BB is fine to hang in there but you'll feel way more comfortable if you can chip up to 50-60, less pressure on every decision
Thanks for responding.
Did anyone reach the last day? What was your chip count?
If you did, describe how tough it felt for you.
38BB isn't awful, but if you can add a little more without pushing it, do so. Short-stack poker is a grind and a single bad beat can knock you out, so I'd prefer to have some cushion heading into the final day.
38BB is doable, but honestly you'll stay tense the entire time — try to locate a place to chip up to 50-60 rather than taking a big gamble.
Why do the comments all sound the same? WTF
Honestly, I think the remarks echo each other because 38BB sits in that awkward in-between — usable yet uncomfortable, so people tend to offer the same suggestions.
Yeah 38BB is that odd phase where you’re not desperate, but one bad flip and you’re forced into shove-or-fold territory; definitely look for opportunities to chip up if they present themselves naturally.
Але якщо глянути на таблицю, середній стек насправді коливається десь між 40–50.
depends on the blind level, 38 migt be tighter than it looks
that 38BB stack seems really dependent on the table, to be honest
I agree — it hinges on who I wind up with
38bb is fine to be honest, but if the spots exist I'd definitely prefer getting closer to 50 — much less stress after the flop, right?
I wouldn’t be comfortable settling at 38BB on the final day — you get shoved around far too often once the blinds escalate. I’d prefer to take a few measured shots earlier to climb to 50 or 60BB, places where you retain some fold equity and can relax a little.
38bb is playable, but if you draw a few bad cards it can quickly turn into 22bb and you'll be unable to move anyone. I wouldn't force anything, but if a strong opening presents itself early I'd try to shift it nearer to 45 50 so you don't end up panicking into desperation later.
I once bubbled on a Sunday final table while sitting on 41BB because I had folded too many playable hands waiting for aces.
Unfortunately, pocket aces don’t ensure victory—they’re only a powerful starting hand preflop.
You need to evaluate the context and await the big blind action so you don’t squander your chips.
watch the two tightest players stacks and steal their blinds
I just hope I don't end up with the chip lead at the first table😁😁
yeah 38 is fine but id grind higher to like 55 no cap more room to maneuver postflop fr ?
I hovered around 34bb for an entire level once and just watched everyone else chip up around me; it was miserable. Now I'd probably take a marginal flip if I believed I could get close to 45bb and actually have some fold equity against the shorter stacks.
i made ft with 31bb after folding for 3 orbits straight then trippled up in one round, crazy game
I hope I succeed in earning a strong prize-winning position.
38bb works, but are you primarily aiming to ladder or to push for the win?
Naturally, I'd be thrilled to win
38bb works for a while, but you essentially give up all 3bet fold equity versus deeper stacks who will gladly call light. So I’d prefer to increase my button aggression and try to scoop some preflop pots before the blinds rise if the table is too tight.
I'd actually go a bit larger — 38bb works until the blinds surge and then suddenly there's less space than you expect
