Do private tables on Stake incur a fee?

Can anyone help me with this?

Yeah afaik private tables do have a small rake or fee attached, it's not completely free like play money home games

yeah private tables on Stake charge a small fee/rake; that's basically how they keep them operating tbh

yeah private tables on Stake do charge a small rake similar to regular tables — not a flat fee but a percentage of the pot taken

yeah they take a small rake like @hyp3r said, it isn't a flat fee though — just a percentage of the pot

yeah it's the same rake as ordinary tables, just a tiny percentage taken from each pot

yeah they do take a % rake from the pots, no way around it really. but at least you can set up a private game with just your mates, beats playing randoms sometimes lol

yeah they charge the same rake as regular tables, no flat fee just a % per pot. still worth it if you just wanna mess around with friends tbh

yeah it’s simply the standard rake, not an extra charge — honestly fine if you just want to hang with friends and steer clear of strangers

yeah it's simply the usual rake taken from every pot, there isn't an additional charge for making it private. pretty relaxed way to play with friends tbh

yeah it’s simply the usual rake applied to every pot; there’s no additional fee for having a private table — so you can arrange one with friends with no hidden charges

yeah just the usual rake taken from the pots, mate — no extra charge for a private table. set one up and invite your crew, it's all good

Simply switch the table to "invite only" while in the lobby

nope, just pot rake as always

yeah just the pot rake, I made one last night — smooth

Played a private Hold'em game last night; only the standard rake was collected.

No extra charge, just the usual rake on PLO flips.

? tbh the rake is kinda annoying but at least its not crazy high, still fun to mess around with friends lol ?

Set up a private PLO table with my brother yesterday and the rake hardly touched our pot

If you want to avoid the usual rake on private tables, ensure your group participates in tournaments rather than cash games, because tournaments frequently use a different fee structure.

nah no extra fee, just the regular rake they take from each hand. set one up last week and i panicked at first thinking theyd charge me upfront lol

I set one up with a buddy the other night and yeah, it’s just the standard rake—no front setup. I was surprised how simple it was, honestly; you just need to fiddle with the settings a little.

Raked holdem tables against the squad? finally let’s go

wait so you've already set up the room, or are you stuck on the option to make it private? ive heard the rake is just the standard cut but curious if you noticed it hurting the stack much yet

I really favor private tables when I'm experimenting with new strategies so I don't have the pressure of strangers observing every play.

oh man when the OP said "private tables are charged a fee" I got worried for a moment, but then I figured they were likely referring to the usual rake on every hand lol

I honestly prefer the privaate tables for tournaments because the rake feels less painful that way.

So does the rake taken from private tables scale if you increase the blind amounts, or not?

To be honest, I'd prefer jumping into a public, low-stakes cash game rather than handling the private table rake; only if it's a full ring of friends does the tournament format seem much more sensible to reduce fees.

tried it once, my mate bluffed me hard with 7 2 offsuit

yeah, private tables definitely exist — just expect a small cut of rake from each pot. personally i don’t mind it for heads-up games because it discourages people from mucking around with counterfeit chips

The rake hardly matters once you finally defeat your smug opponent in Hold'em

made a quick hu table with my mtae last month and we both missed the rake notice until the third hand lmao, still way better than pub poker fees tho
