My first live tournament I foldde pocket queens preflop because some old guy spilled his coffee and I took it as a sign, turned out he had kings so I actually dodged a bullet. Just pay attention to the weird little moments like that and you will be fine.

My first tournament I lasted about 12 minutes then got knocked out by a lady who kept check raising me with top pair every single hand. So yeah just dont do that and youll be fine lol

The whole "poker greatness" title and it being your first tourney is kinda funny, like aiming for greatness right out the gate. Hope you get at least one bad beat story to tell after.

My first time I was so focused on my own hand I completely missed that the guy across from me had been folding for like 20 minutes straight and suddenly woke up with a massive raise, lesson learned is to watch the players way more than the cards.

Maybe skip the greatness talk and just survive the first level.

Good luck out there. The biggest shock for me was how fast the blind levels felt in person, so don't be afraid to make moves a little sooner than you'd think.
