bro just youtube the basics, watch a few hands and you'll catch on quick fr. it's not that deep once you learn the hand rankings lol

YouTube got you covered bro, hand rankings are the main thing then it's just reps. gl with the grind

fr youtube is your best bet, hand rankings are literally the first thing to learn then everything else comes with practice. gl bro

ngl you can learn the rules in 10 mins on yt but actually winning is a whole different beast, gotta get your reps in and learn to read people

bro the rules are easy, it's the losing 10 buyins in a row that really teaches you the game 😂

honestly just play micro stakes and lose a few bucks, you'll learn faster than any tutorial trust me

fr losing is the best teacher, nothing makes you remember a bad beat like watching your stack vanish lmao

just jump in a micro stakes game, you'll pick it up way faster than watching tutorials tbh

honestly the quickest way is just downloading a free app and playing against bots for a bit, you'll get the flow in like an hour

do you want to learn texas holdem specifically or just the general hand rankings first? figuring out which part confuses you the most is a good start

I watched my cousin lose his first buy in with a straight thinking it beat a flush, just jump into a free game and learn by making those funny mistakes.

I folded a full house once cuz I panicked lmao

cedardraNewbie3 posts

I learned by sitting at a 1 cent / 2 cent table and accidentally calling an all in with just a gutshot straight draw, somehow hitting it on the river made me instantly addicted to the math.

man just open a play money table and dont fold pocket twos till u see the flop, so fun.

SandiroriaNewbie4 posts

Honestly, sitting at a real money table right away even for pennies can build terrible habits that take forever to unlearn later. Starting with just hand rankings and pot odds in a free app keeps it simpler.

I tried explaining the basics to my roommate once and they got stuck on why a flush beats a straight because it looks less organized on the table.

honestly jumping into real tables even for pennies teaches you way faster than grinding some tutorial app for weeks. the bad habits thing is overblown, you can unlearn stuff later but you wont unlearn the feel for how people actually bet

honestly if you just watch a ten minute video on hand rankings and then play the lowest stakes possible youll pick it up faster than reading fifty forum guides

MeriaeysNewbie2 posts

Oh man you gotta just jump into a few rounds of Texas holdem micro stakes and feel the rush when you hit a set on the flop with a pocket pair you almost folded pre. Start with basic hand ranks then watch the odds of hitting your outs and youll be hoked in a weekend.

yo rivering a boat against someones ace high is pure magic lol

peltviMicro-Stakes Grinder11 posts

honestly the rush of hitting a weird straight on the river when you almost folded pre is what got me hooked, just play the fake money tables first so you don't blow your wallet learning. my biggest tip is to stop chasing every draw, i folded so many mediocre hands when i started and my chip stack thanked me for it

do you learn better by watching or just jmping into a hand with play money first

got schooled first week… river flushes still confuse me

LadyurliaMicro-Stakes Grinder5 posts

Just fire up some micro staeks Texas holdem and focus on folding everything except premium pairs and suited connectors at first, nothing beats the adrenaline of shoving with pocket kings and watching the board run out clean.

i get the jump right in idea but without even basic hand rankings youll just lose fast and not know why, a quick 5 minute cheat sheet before the first hand saves a lot of confusion

screw tutorials just play microstakes and learn when to fold

The absolute frist thing I learned was folding most hands preflop feels weird but saves your stack before you even see a card
