Yeah, I’m definitely into it — love the mix of luck and reading people. Nothing beats a good bluff that actually works.

Yeah, I like poker, but tbh I'm still learning not to give away my hand with my face lol.

Love the game but my bankroll definitely isn't a fan of my bluffing skills lol

Big fan here, though I'm still chasing the high of my first successful bluff without my hands shaking lol

Always down for some poker, but I swear my face has a mind of its own when I'm holding a monster hand lol

Yeah for sure, I love the game but I’m the same — my face betrays me every time I’ve got something good lol

sydneyariNewbie4 posts

ngl I'm more of a fan of the idea of poker than actually playing it, my patience goes out the window after like 20 hands lol

RuneerraNewbie4 posts

yeah love it but I think my wallet's the biggest fan tbh, it's always the one leaving early

kyrviMicro-Stakes Grinder5 posts

oh I'm all in on poker, even if my face hasn't gotten the memo yet that we're supposed to be playing it cool lol

I’m a fan right up until I get dealt pocket aces and somehow still lose half my stack

excited for this tbh

Do you prefer the fast pace of tournaments or just chilling at a cash game table all night? I find the energy totally different depending on the format.

Always fold low suited connectors from early position, it saves more money than you'd think.

you play lvie or only online?

vexanan70Micro-Stakes Grinder7 posts

i play a bit but mostly just messing around with friends for tiny stakes, nothing serious. dont really get the appeal of grinding online for hours though

yeah i like poker but only live games tbh, i went all in with pocket jacks last weekend thinking i was unstoppable and got crushed by a slowplayed set of fours lol

I get it but honestly the constant slow pace and folding for hours puts me to sleep. I'd rather just play some faster card games where you actually get hands more often.

Love it but I fold way too much honestly

Winexen6Newbie3 posts

kinda surprised seeing all the live poker love here, online cash is just so much more efficient when you actually want to grind volume and not sit around folding for hours lol

not really, it just feels like math homework with more steps

im decent at it but mostly stick to casual home games now, lost way too much chasing straights olnine last year lol. you ever play live or just online tables?

do you guuys prefer cash games or tournaments more? i feel like the dynamic is totally different

hollowioariumNewbie4 posts

I'd rather play a few messy home games with friends than grind endless online tables any day.

Texas holdem or do you play omaah mostly

ZyllynMicro-Stakes Grinder5 posts

i mostly just mess around with play money apps tbh, cant justify losing real cash when i still forget which hands beat what lol. do you prefer tournament style or cash games tho

Not really, waiting for cards gets boring too fast.

naloraeariNewbie1 posts

I only really got into poker once a coworker started hosting small tournaments at his place and we ended up playing until like 3am with pizza crusts piling up everywhere. The stupidest hand I ever won was when I misread my own cards and bluffed someone off a set of tens with queen high, still cannot believe it worked.

Yep love the vibe of poker nights even though I mostly donate my buy in withn the first hour. I find it way more fun when everyone's half paying attention and cracking jokes instead of taking it too serious.

FrankiayverNewbie2 posts

I respect the skill of good online grinders but I could never stare at a screen folding 80% of hands for hours, live poker with actual physical tells and tablle banter is just way more my speed.

Quillanenne9Micro-Stakes Grinder5 posts
Posted Jul 12, 2026, 4:07 AM#38

if you're starting out, fold way more than you think preflop and only play in position for the first hour, it's boring but saves you from stupid losses. i used to chase every suited connector like a donkey and my stack just melted lol

i folded pocket queens once to an old guy who hadnt played a hand in like 3 hours and he showed me ace high on purpose to mess with my head still think about it every time i sit down now
